Tekka grinned. "Thank you, one of the monsters you destroyed was Sangan! and when he's sent to the graveyard I get to add a monster with 1500 attack or less from my deck to my hand, and then my deck is shuffled." She scanned her deck, plucked a card and reshuffled.
"And since it's my turn, I draw." she picked up a card. "First I'll place a card face down, then I'll summon Silent Magician Level 4 in attack mode, but he won't stay for long because I activate Level Up." She flipped over the magic card that had been sitting on the field since the start of the duel. "It allows me to trade him in for the next level card in my deck like him, so..." Tekka scrounged around in her pile of cards and slapped another magician on the table after sending the Level 4 to the grave along with Level Up.
"Give a warm welcome to Silent Magician Level 8!" She crowed happily. "But I'm not done yet, I activate my Shadow Spell Trap card, this lets me pick a monster on your side of the field and decrease its attack points by 700. Also, it's unable to attack or swap battle positions." She grinned. "Fortune Lady Earth is now weaker than Silent Magician, so he'll attack her."
Tekka smiled. "You lose 600 life points if there's no counter."

"Oh, I can definitely counter that," Caitlyn smirked. "I activate Slip of Fortune!" She flipped up the Trap. "This negates your attack and removes my Earth from play until my next Standby Phase. Sure, her level will reset when she returns, but more importantly, she won't be hindered by your Shadow Spell. And now, it's my move."
She drew a card. "First, my Earth returns, just in time for both her and Water to level up by one. So, you lose 400 Life Points from Earth's effect and she gains 400 Attack Points, putting her at 2800, and my Water gains 300 Attack Points, putting her at 1800." Then, she selected a card in her hand.
"I have two ways to take down your Silent Magician, and I think I'll use the more fun one. I activate Future Visions!" She played the card. "If you recall, that removes from play any monster that's Normal Summoned for one turn. So, I'll summon Fortune Lady Light!" She placed the card on the field, then removed it. "And, of course, that would be removing her from the field by a card effect...so I'll Special Summon Fortune Lady Fire from my deck." She selected the card, then shuffled.
"And now we get to the best part. Sure, Fire only has 400 Attack Points to start with, but she has a powerful ability. She can destroy one monster on your field when she's Special Summoned by the effect of a Fortune Lady, like my Light. And then, you take damage equal to that monster's Attack Score. So, of course, I'll choose your Silent Magician LV 8. Then, with no monsters on your field, my three Fortune Ladies will attack you directly. I believe that's game if you can't stop me."

Tekka flipped over a card. "Secret Barrel. it won't stop your attack but it'll sure as hell inflict some damage. 200 points for each card in your hand and on your field to be exact." She laughed. "I lose. But at least I inflicted some damage before it was all over."
She gathered up her cards. "That probably wasn't the challenge you were hoping for, but now you get a free lunch." She smiled wider. "And hey, it killed some time."

Caitlyn grinned. "So I don't completely blow you out of the water," she said. Then, she shrugged. "I hope I'll do as well if I ever get into a duel for territory," she said, brushing her hair away from her face. Her eyes sparkled with the joy of victory. "Yeah, you'll be buying me lunch. Don't worry, I'm a cheap date," she joked. "And it did kill some time. Plus, I love showing off my Fortune Ladies."

Tekka nodded, "They're quite useful. Especially with all those effects." She grimaced, "But for anyone other than you they're freakishly annoying to go up against."
She stood up and grinned. "So where to?" She spread her arms wide and gestured to the grandeur of the mall. "I think there's just the food court here in the mall though."

"And you've only met half the family," Caitlyn joked. "In all seriousness, I like them because they're tricky. I mean, my other deck is Arcana Force. Not that I'm revealing all my secrets," she added. Then, she slid her deck back into her Duel Disk.
"The food court in the mall is fine. Like I said, I'm a cheap date." She said. "Plus, I don't feel like walking all that much more. Quite shockingly, platform soles are a bit painful after a few hours."

"Really?" Tekka asked sarcastically, "I would never have guessed by the pained look on your face." She stifled a laugh. "But seriously, why wear them if they're so uncomfortable? Get some sneakers!" She lifted her own foot to display the aforementioned footwear and grinned, shoving her hands in her pockets as she did so.

"I enjoy feeling normal-sized," Caitlyn replied, her voice dry. "It improves my self-esteem." She stood up, and stretched. "Besides, they don't hurt that badly," she said, shrugging. She put her Duel Disk back on and reached down to make sure that her deck box and Tarot cards were both firmly attached to her belt.

"You're in denial." Tekka grinned, "Being short rules, no one notices you if you don't want to be noticed." She removed a hand from a pocket and held up a finger. "Besides, small people are more able to pull off the puppy-dog-eyes."
She cast a wary glance at the shoes. "I've worn a pair of those all day on a dare, I couldn't walk afterwards." She shuddered, "They're evil."

Caitlyn crossed her arms. "So what if I'm in denial? Besides, I do own flats, I just like these. It's quite a bit easier to threaten someone with two-inch heels or soles than regular shoes." She said. "And you do get used to them. Besides, I'm building up ankle strength."

Tekka held up her arms in defeat. "Okay, so maybe they're just evil to me. And you do have a point with the whole 'threatening from above' thing," At this point her right hand was over her heart and her left was up in the air. "but I will never wear heels, they will kill me."

"Maybe they are." Caitlyn said. "Maybe they can sense how much you resent them and thus they hate you in return." She grinned. "Plus, platforms do more damage when you throw them at someone's head." She paused. "...Not that I would ever, ever do such a thing."

Tekka snickered. "Yes because I totally believe that you don't want to hit people's heads. Sure." She grinned, letting her friend know that she was joking. She looked over her shoulder and spotted something, then turned back to Caitlyn. "The question is, can you run in those things?" Her pace was picking up just a hair.

Caitlyn smiled angelically. "I'm glad you know how wonderfully sweet I am," she said. She easily kept pace with Tekka. "In these? Yes. In heels? No." She said. "In heels, I would break an ankle or two." She tossed her hair over her shoulders.

Tekka nodded. "Good." Then took off in a mad sprint towards the food court, laughing all the way. "You'll have to catch up!" She hollered back. Doing random deeds, in this case running for no real reason, occupied most of Tekka's day, plus knocking elbows with unaware strangers had some... benefits.
