Every story has it's origins...
Exordium
[Ig-Sawr-Dee-Uhm]
In literature, the beginning or introduction, especially the introductory part of a discourse or composition. The term originally referred specifically to one of the initial divisions of a speech established by classical rhetoricians...
What is it?
Yu-Gi-Oh: 3000 - Exordium is a complete remodeling ("Expansion Pack") of Y3K that turns back the clock to the Age of Apocalypse, elaborating on the event commonly known to lead to the complete destruction of the world we know today. In the time of Exordium, many forces, both human and superior, threatened to drive mankind to the brink of extinction, a fate they escaped by an infinitesimally small margin.
Many things in Exordium would seem familiar to the member of Y3K just in the earlier stages of development, for instance, a common landmark of Hatsu Itonami, in Exordium, would be a construction site, with the landmark still being built or under construction, while some of the older landmarks and buildings would still be around, just not in such old condition. At the same time some landmarks that were trademark of the past but later torn down for newer ones would also be part of Exordium.
The Exordium mod completely changes the dynamic of the site by re-focusing the focal point on the site according with the interest of the members, better Role-Play that doesn't have to depend on dueling, but can still incorporate it as much as is convenient. Exordium allows for much better plotwork while still keeping a similar feel to the Y3K that we know and love, allowing for a system and base plot as normal without the severe restrictions that the government and clan life enforced. This allows for a much more open-ended plot with a lot more role-play directing the direction of the site.
With Y3K: Exordium, ultimately, you control your destiny.

Author's Note
It has been a long time since I've been consistently on this site, and interestingly enough, it's good to be back. I'd first like to give thanks to everyone who stuck with the site even through my absence, I have never before had a member base this loyal and it's beyond inspiring to have one; I'm not so sure I deserve that much loyalty. I suppose an explanation is in order, but there are no excuses, only honesty. Maintaining this site was...difficult, for me. The site was set up with a certain format, a certain plan, and when it became clear that the dueling aspect of the plan was going to become a minor part of the site, I panicked. I've never been good at hosting sites that are purely RP sites because I can't set up a method that works, and I'm not overly creative to the point I can make plot idea after plot idea. But, now that I've returned and have got the creative juices flowing a little, I have this nice little idea for everyone and I'll see if I can handle managing it. You all have my word that I'll do my very best.
Sorry to everyone for not being the Admin I should be all the time, and thanks to everyone who stuck with Y3K despite it, It's appreciated more than I can express. You guys rock!
Sincerely, to everyone
