"So where are you from? If you don't mind me asking." Yukiko rubbed her neck sheepishly as she spoke. "I've just never left the city so I like hearing about what else is out there."

"D-don't worry..." He reassured her. "It's fine to be- um, curious... I grew up i-in Canada, it..." He paused for a moment, wondering how beneficial it was to lie about his life for the sake of glorifying his old home. "It was nice." He decided. The place itself was lovely, and he missed the open-air feeling and the fresh air. The city was a prison by comparison of towns. But it wasn't as if he was about to go back anytime soon, even if he COULD...

"Wow, so far away..." The Ookami's voice was a barely above a whisper. She cleared her throat, having realized she'd been talking to herself. "We don't hear much, living in this city, especially when it comes to the western nations..." An innocent shrug. "The world is just pretty segregated right now, I guess."
It was a shame really. Especially for people like Yukiko- dreamers and wanna-be adventurers. She was comfortable with her home, seeing as it was all she knew, but she still wished she could travel, see new places. There was only so much a single city could hold for an entire lifetime.

"W-well, I didn't e-exactly know much ab-bout the eastern nations when I m-moved..." Theo conceded, after all, he was so terrified about the trip he was pretty sure he had blocked it all out mentally. After all, he barely remembered being on a plane, much less buying a ticket. "S-so I guess you're right..." At he knew it would draw less attention if he screwed up on anything. There was always that foreigner card that he could play.

"Mm." Yukiko gave a thoughtful hum, accompanied by an equally thoughtful expression. She wasn't really quite sure what to add at this point. While she certainly had the drive to be less shy, her social skills were still... Lacking. So instead of going off on another tangant the Ookami simply gave a small grin and remained silent, thinkong of what to say.

Theo sat in silence for a moment or three, trying to gather his thoughts and pick out another topic to branch out on. It seemed rather rude to just leave now, and much more awkward than he'd like to just sit there, so that left action. The only problem was that he was horrible when it actually came to action. Far too timid. Still, after some more time just listening to the wind roll by he decided to at least try.
"S-so... um... If- If you COULD leave th-the uh, city, where do you think you'd, ah, go to?" He bit down on the inside of his cheek to keep from stammering onward. Babbling like an idiot wasn't on his itinerary.

Yukiko blinked, taking a moment to look at Theo while she mulled over her answer. Honestly, she didn't know. Hatsu Itonami was all she knew about. She was uninformed about most other parts of the world, other than the random tidbits she'd gathered from her father about his days as a roaming musician before he'd settled in the city. But he had seldom mentioned them,so the Ookami hadn't been able to learn much.
"Someplace peaceful," she finally stated, resting her chin on her knees with a somewhat contented smile, "with lots of open space and a sky full of stars. Where I can feel happy and safe." Without her past tagging along for the ride.

Theo blinked and smiled softly at that. "Th-that sounds nice... C-Can I tag along..?" He asked hesitantly. A place like that sounded like heaven, he wasn't sure if it even existed, but if it did... If it did he was getting the first ticket there when he turned 35, no doubt about that.

"If I ever find it, you'll be the first one I tell." Yukiko smiled at him before turning her attention back towards the horizon. "And then we can get tickets for a plane, boat, train- whatever- and head straight there."
Her voice had a sound of honesty to it, showing she really meant what she was saying. Although there was also a tone of whistfulness, acknowledging the thought wasn't much more than a pipe dream to her- borderline impossibilty. Finding such a paradise could never be that easy.

"L-likewise." He replied. Goodness knew that the courtesy would be returned. After all, Yuki wouldn't have to tell him of her paradise but had decided to anyhow, so it would only be fair that he told her of it if he managed to find it. "B-but I guess that has to... wait for awhile..." He glanced down, then back to Yuki. There was a ticklish sensation at the back of his mind, the had seen this Ookami somewhere before...
"Um... Miss Yuki..?" He decided to try. "I-I kinda feel like I've seen y-you before..." The last part came out as a mumble, barely audible. That was a stupid thought, he berated himself. Of course he hadn't met her before, or else he would have known who she was, and vice versa!

"Yeah..." the Ookami mused slowly. "I feel the same way." She bit her lip, studying her companion for a moment. He did seem familar in some way, although she couldn't pinpoint just what it was. It was similar to the way she'd felt when she'd met up with Akio again after so long... but that couldn't be it. Theo was new around here, so it wasn't that she'd met him a long time ago... Maybe they'd bumped into each other at some point? Maybe?
"I can't put my finger on it, but you do seem really familar." Yukiko paused thoughtfully. "Maybe we were just in the same place at some point? My memory is weird with faces."

Theo attempted a tiny laugh. "I-I guess mine must be too then..." He wasn't so sure though... He actually remembered lots of faces, but it was names that he screwed up on. Maybe they were both slipping up though. Or exchanging proficiency? But that wouldn't make sense... He smacked himself mentally, he had probably just seen here walking around before. Nothing weird about that, was there? She had probably barely noticed him or something, and now they were just remembering that. Simple!
Though... he wasn't sure that was entirely satisfactory...

"Well that must be it then. Nothing too odd about that." Yukiko smiled, although she was not entirely satisfied with that answer either. But it would have to do for now. Instead, the Ookami decided to start on a new tangant entirely. "So have you explored a lot since coming here? The city's big, so it takes awhile to find everything."

One of his hands started to absently draw in the dirt while he thought. "Um... a little, I guess..." He decided. "I like the, um... the big garden the best, b-but I've been to the..." He glanced down at his doodling in thought. "Let's see... the Tower... and the Manor... and the Wok... and City Hall, and here..." He tried a smile. "A-and I got lost in the, um, woods my second day here... does that count?"

The Ookami paused for a beat. Something deep down inside of her gave off a sharp, prickling feeling, as if there was something it wanted her to notice in Theo's words. Of course he'd said nothing unusual, so she just brushed it off as brain damage from the pole and went on to answer his question.
"I'd say so," Yukiko laughed. "I swear, everyone who has ever set foot in those woods has managed to get lost. The place is a giant maze." She shook her head, still chuckling.
