For the first time in two months, the gunslinger of Hatsu Itonami was away from his beloved range. Forced off, really, and stripped of one of his beloved guns because, as Mina had put it, 'Two is kinda overkill, Toru. No one's gonna ambush you.' It made him feel somewhat unbalanced with only Balthazar in his jacket. But it was better than his LAST day off, both guns had been gone then.
Satoru was wandering around the graveyard. Avoiding human contact was probably the best thing at the moment, he needed a little time to figure out everything that had occurred. A psycho girl had gone missing (presumed to be in an asylum), one of his old gang contacts had surfaced looking for a job because she had gotten knocked up, a string of murders in the city, a detective showing up at his range asking about the criminal underworld of the city (who he had thrown off his property for her yelling and assumptions).
When had his life turned into a crime drama?
He leaned against a wall, more bodies were buried in it, there was a hill just above him and graves atop that. He'd have picked a less filthy area, but his leg was acting up again. Time for a quick break. Damn he hated these jeans... Fucking civvies... He much preferred his work clothes and jacket but Mina had confiscated them on the grounds of 'Seriously, its falling apart.'

There really was no reason for Persephone to be wandering through the graveyard. There was no one of importance to her burried here, she'd left everyone important back at home. Well... She thought she had anyway. Most of her old group was suddenly deciding to make appearances in Hatsu Itonami.
But regardless, this place she simply seemed to have a liking for this place. Though the quiet, unmoving atmosphere was starting to make her ancy. And when Persephone got ancy she also got destructive.
Clutching her still-healing arm, Persephone sat in the branches of one of the few trees that dotted the cemetary. She'd been napping a few minutes earlier, awakening to the sound of footsteps. The Tora looked down, spotting a lone man standing nearby. Bored, as always, Persephone decided to get his attention.
"Curious place to be takin' a stroll, don't cha think?" She hoped she'd startle him, but wasn't getting her hopes up. It hadn't worked the last few times, but at least it sparked conversation.

Satoru glanced up at the voice. Whoever had been in the tree earlier had woken up, years of training and harsh conditions had honed his senses, and he kept them sharp even in times of semi-peace such as these. That was to say, he was unsurprised. "If I had had a choice I wouldn't be here." He replied, resting more of his weight against the wall as pain lanced up his leg. A hand went into his pocket for a pack of cigarettes. "What brings you here, Chatterbox?" The voice had given Persephone's identity away, and without looking up he wondered if she knew who he was.

Ah, so it had been Satoru. Persephone hadn't completely recognized him in such casual clothes. "Nothin' special. Just lazing about." The Tora yawned, lazily draping herself across an adjacent branch. The cool autumn air pricked her bare arms. She hadn't bothered putting a sweater on over her tank top this morning, the bandages made it too much of a bother.
After a moment Persephone decided to climb down, knowing she'd need to avoid using her arms to do so. She locked her legs around the tree branch and swung herself upside down, rather like a bat. In one fluid movement she released the branch, flipping herself around so she landed solidly on her feet. She aimed a friendly smirk in her clanmate's direction.
"Anyway, I could ask you the same thing. Clearly you don't want to be here, if you said someone made you."

Satoru watched her approach, keeping his face as stoic as he could. With luck she'd move on and leave him be... although considering this was Persephone he was talking about, that was a slim hope. Highly unrealistic. "Mostly to avoid people. Last time this happened I got ambushed by my self-appointed 'son' at the mall." And while dealing with Xavier wasn't so bad, he kinda was trying to avoid people right now. "Obviously that plan failed." He said as he lit up a cig and inhaled deeply.

"I see. I know a thing or two about avoiding people." Her plan had kind of backfired too, whether that was for better or for worse had yet to be seen. She hopped it was a good thing, but she couldn't really be sure yet.
Ignoring these thoughts, the Tora kept speaking, twirling her finger lazily as she spoke. "You can hide all you want, they always to find you eventually." She paused, glancing back at Satoru momentarily. "Humans really aren't meant to be solitary, I suppose. We're too dependent on each other for that." She shrugged playfully, adding a lighter feel to her otherwise heavy words.

Satoru nodded. "Makes it pretty annoying for everyone who actually wants to stay by themselves." Like him. He'd be perfectly happy without anyone around. For the most part at least. Egil could come by to cook, and Mina could visit, but that would be it if he had it his way. Two reliable people, no one else to bother him.
"Though I suppose it makes things interesting..." He conceded, thinking about Eva and Xavier for a brief moment before remembering that he still needed to wring someone's neck for knocking her up. He'd do that later. Not much of an option for it right now. "What happened to your arm?" The gunslinger asked to change the topic.

"Huh?" Persephone glanced at the limb in question, which was wrapped from her elbow all the way up to her other shoulder, just to make sure the bandages stayed in place. "Got into a fight with some bloke after a few drinks. Idiot couldn't fight fair." She gave an indignant sniff, apparently stil sore about losing (although she still refused to admit she had). "Pulled out a gun when it was clearly a knife fight. 'Course I don't have one so I was kinda screwed." The Tora shrugged. "Just another scar for the collection, I s'pose."

"Oh for god's sake," Satoru slapped his forehead, sending a few stray ashes from his cigarette spiraling toward the ground. "Doesn't anyone in this city know how to properly arm themselves?" If he, Mina, and Egil were the only ones that actually knew how to use a gun, he'd have a hell of a lot more work that he wanted ahead of him. Hadn't he given this girl shooting lessons? Eva had done the teaching, but he remembered it happening. Why had they gone through THAT if she wasn't even going to carry one around? Honestly!

"I'm sorry, but I haven't got a job, I've got a rent to pay, and I'm sure as hell ain't gonna steal one." The Tora crossed her arms firmly over her chest and flipped her bangs oit of her eyes with a loud huff. "I don't do that stuff anymore." Now that she thougt abput it, the money she'd taken when she'd run off was starting to wear thin. Persephone had done a good job of making it last so far, but without any work... Well, there was only so much she could do at this point.

Satoru sighed. He would offer the other Tora a job if it weren't for the fact that training yet another employee and spending more money on a worker he didn't need right now would be more trouble than it was worth. She had spunk, but the cons outweighed the pros. "An' the clan salary?" He inquired, wondering where that money went off to. It wasn't much, but if a clanmember stuck around the base and helped take care of the place (or guard, or some other task) they were paid.

"I dunno, I don't really hang around base all the often." She rubbed her shoulders. The cold was finally starting to sink in, although it didn't bother her too much. "I wasn't planning on getting stuck in this stupid war either, I just ended up landing in the wrong town." Luck really had it in for her. As far as Persephone knew, she'd never really gotten her fair share of the stuff.

Satoru snorted. "I'll say. S'not as if anyone comes here my choice." Well... HE had, but that was because of being forced off of his turf in New Tokyo. Best not to cause too much of a ruckus with the cops there making a comeback. He had had to flee, and the clans offered a bit of protection while he restarted, they held a fair deal of clout after all. "Though I woulda pegged ya fer growin' up here..." He hadn't noticed his accent creeping back up, much akin to his last rather disastrous day off.

Persephone shook her head. "Nah, I lived at the other end of the country. Slightly shadier district, if ya know what I mean." A more polite way of calling her home the slums. The whole city hadn't been like that, but the part she'd lived in certainly had. Of course that hadn't been until after her mother died and her dad spent all their money on booze. Then they'd lost the house and been forced to relocate to the slightly trashier end of town.
"My part of the city was pretty much for gangs and trash and the people who couldn't afford anything else, like myself for example." The Tora paused, nonchalantly stretching her hands over her head as she did so. "I left maybe two years ago... Or longer, I can't really remember."

Satoru nodded, he knew the areas well. "Lived almost all my life in those sorts of places." He replied. "Still not out of them." He practically lived at the range, mostly by choice, but it wasn't in the most high-class area of town to say the least. "Kinda homey after awhile." He muttered around the cigarette, a hint of humor in his voice.
