Seishiro meandered into the hospital waiting room, still wondering how he'd managed to get there in such a short period of time. He'd had to limp all the way from the Black Rose Garden to get here, with bruised rips no less. One of his arms hung limp at his side, pretty much useless. His good hand held it in place; any sort of movement sent waves of pure agnoy surging throughout his entire being. God, that Theo kid had really dealt him some serious damage.
After speaking breifly to the receptionist, the young Tora slowly lowered himself down into one of the waiting room chairs. He'd specifically requested that he speak to Hi, although now that he thought about it... Maybe it wasn't a good idea. She was smart, and it would be difficult to lie to her about what had happened. Not that he hadn't lied to her before, but this wasn't exactly like the other times...

Hi's high heels tapped against the tile floors as she raced to the waiting room. I few minutes ago, she got a call from her office saying that Seishy had requested to see her. She wiped around the corner and her eyes were on him, she walked over, making an assessment of his injuries.
He was obviously having a hard time breathing, wincing, his ribs were injured. Three of his fingers were puffy and purple, and at awkward angles, they were broken. As for his arm, she couldn't really tell yet. She walked over and spoke quietly so he could only hear, "I'm going to take you to my check up room." She slowly put her head up his arm and lifted him with surprising strength and balance.
You'd think that Hi would be panicking, seeing her best friend in such a state, but she was utterly calm. This was trait that she inherited from her parents and a skill she developed over the years. It was never good to get emotionally attached so that you panic. Hi was swiftly even with her awkward companion and opened the door to room one. She set Seishy down nice and easy, saying as she did so, "What happened Seishy?"
She took his fingers and grabbed medical tape and metal pieces, to keep the fingers straight, and began to wrap them together and waited for his reply.

Seishiro wasn't an idiot, he knew at the start that this question was going to be asked. He come up with a pretty lame excuse, but it was a solid one. "Got m'self into a fight, nothing new." He winced when Hi started binding his fingers. "Couldn't talk my way out of this one though." He chuckled weakly. "So, do ya think I'm going to live?"

Hi looked up at him, and knew he was lying. Seishy could never look her in the eye if he was lying to her. She could tell that this time he wasn't lying to her, but he wasn't telling the truth either. She nodded, "You'll live. But I wish you would tell me the real reason why you got into a fight." She looked up at him and met his eyes, held them there for a second and then went back to her work. She had finished with his fingers and looked at his arm next.
His wrist was inflamed, sprained badly, but not broken. Hi went into the draw and got a brace for him, wrapping carefully but tight to make sure that the write would stay in place. She was silent, a sign that she was pissed. Seishy getting beat made her feel like it was her fault. She felt responsible for him and therefor she got mad at him and herself in these situations.

"There's nothing much to tell, love." Seishiro sighed melodramatically. "Me and my drunken self got tangled up with an equally, if not more so, intoxicated fellow. Not one of my brighter ideas." He paused, having been looking dramatically off into the middle distance as he spoke, and turned to look over at Hi. He Tora smiled softly, patting her cheek with his good hand reassuringly. "You don't need to wory so much, it's just some broken fingers. No big deal."

HI sighed, "No to mention, bruised ribs and a sprained wrist." She handed him an ice pack and placed his good hand over the left side of his ribs. There was a moment of silence, "It's easy to tell your lying to me, Seishy. There isn't a scent of alcohol on you!" Her voice raising up in anger. She took two of her fingers and jabbed his left knee. A pressure point that made his leg fall asleep for exactly five minutes. She crossed her arms and glared at him, "What the hell actually happened Seishiro?" She was defiantly pissed, after all, she used his full name.

Damn. He hadn't really thought of that. Maybe he should have gotten a drink or something on his way up here to make it more convincing. Plus, Hi hadnt used his nickname. That meant she was strting to get pissed. Once she whipped out his middle name, however, THEN he knew he was screwed.
"Okay, so maybe I was drunk, but I the other guy probably was. Anyway, it all happened really fast so I don't remember much." The Tora couldn't meet Hi's eyes. He tried, but they seemed to burn guilty holes into his face whenever he looked at them. Why was it so hard for him to lie in her presence?! It made things even more complicated then they already were.

Hi sighed, exasperated, "Why on earth will you not tell me these things?!" She put bother her hands on his knees and got on her own so he couldn't look away from her. "I can't help you unless you tell me the truth, Nao. " She was pissed, angry, and hurt, her face was as cold as a statue. But her eyes were filled with concern, "I feel responsible for you, Seishy. When you get hurt, so do I. You should know that by now." She waited, angry, but mostly hurt.
Was she really not that trustworthy? Could she not be trusted? Did she do something to Seishy that made him think twice about telling his secrets to her? All this flashed across her face. She hoped he didn't see her one moment of weakness, but she didn't look away, not once.

Dear God. Hi had used his middle name... Clearly, she was pissed. The hurt look in her eyes tore Seishiro up inside. Honestly, he'd love to cry to Hi's most trusted friend about what had happened; to let her take care of the big scarybprovlem like she had when they were younger. But he knew he couldn't say anything to her. It was too risky. However, he couldn't keep lying either.
Seishiro looked down at his lap, almost shamefully so.
"You'll believe if I say I can't tell you, won't you?" His voice was little more than a whisper. "I trust you more than anyone else, Hi, in fact you're really the only one I trust. But I can't tell you. That's the truth."

Hi looked, in his eyes, he was telling the truth. She didn't want to let it go, but it looked like it was hurting him to say even that. She got up, and turned, not looking at him, she said, "At least stay in the hospital tonight... okay?" She had to make sure he was safe, that whoever did this to him can't hurt him anymore... at least for tonight.
Then abruptly, she spun around and slammed her hands on either side of him, onto the examine table and looked him straight in the eye, "Don't think for another minuet that I'm letting this go! If this happens again with the same guy, I swear to god I'll find out who it is and hit all his pressure points!" Her face was centimeters from his, to make sure he remembered this. And she meant it. Really it sounded king of funny but she really could do some damage if she wanted to.

"I believe you on that one, darling." The Tora laughed nervously. He didn't doubt her for one second. He'd seen Hi take out people who dwarfed the Hulk with one jab. Thankfully, she used her medical skills for good and not evil. She could make a great serial killer if she wanted to.
"I promise it won't happen again, okay? I'm pretty sure I won't be getting up close and personal with this guy twice. I value the well-being of my face far too much for that."

Hi's stern face dissolved into a smiled, "Good." She kissed him on the cheek, and said as she retreated, "I'm glad your okay." She turned away and grabbed the phone off the desk in that corner. Dialing only three numbers to call the front desk, she said into the phone, "I have a patient staying the night, would you get someone with a wheel chair in here?" She smiled as the lady replied and laughed, "Thanks Julie!" And she hung up the phone. She turned to her best friend and said, "Someone's coming over with a wheel chair to take you to the room."
Hi thought for a moment, turning away so he could see her face, who was going to pay for this? Seishy got most if not all his money from his mother... but what would she say to another hospital bill? Hi didn't want to find out, she would just for it herself. The reason she turned away was that she face was like an open book when Seishy was around. He could see her every thought and he would probably object for her to pay the fee... she smiled, well that was just to bad. She was paying anyway.

"My legs are still useable, you know." He didn't argue with her though. The Tora was grateful that she wasn't trying to pry further into what had gone on earlier; he wasn't going to risk getting her angry. He'd sit back and count his blessings.
"Oh Hi, what would I do without you?" A melodramatic sigh escaped his lips. Seishiro was too dependent on her, really. Just seeing her like this reminded him of how much his antics seemed to worry her. He did honestly feel bad about bringing down her carefree attitude with concern, but it was a feeling that was easily brushed off in the fog of partying and alcohol.

Hi leaned back on the desk behind her, looking at him, "Without me, you'd probably be dead... no offense." She grinned and went all business, "You should stay for at least three days. I want to make sure there isn't any internal bleeding, although the chance is very slight." It was amazing how she could totally change from nice, outgoing Hi to all business doctor in a blink of an eye.
Hi yet again pondered on how she and Seishy were friends, completely opposites in every way. Yet again they say opposites attract, do they not? It's interesting how it seemed they were so different and had managed to stay friends all this time.

"Ah, my poor insides." Seishiro groaned and hugged his stomach with a worried expression. His face lightened after a moment and he laughed. "Thanks again, darling. I know I'd be dead without you." At this moment the lady with the wheel chair strolled in, so the Tora slid off the examining table, repressing a wince when his feet hit the floor. God his ribs HURT.
