Yukiko was laying in the midst of the soccer field, gazing up at the velvety black sky. Her green eyes darted from star to star, which hung like shimmering diamonds against the darkness. Her long hair was strung out around her head in a wide brown halo, and her skirt was spread out like a big plaid fan. One hand quietly tracing constellations, drawing pictures into the stars one at a time. She sighed, putting her hands back on her stomach.
Yukiko's eyes moved over the midnight sky, searching for the brightest star... the wishing star. There was a soft glow overhead, and she thought she'd found her target... although judging by the dull roar that followed it had only be an airplane. Yukiko sighed once again.
"Can we pretend that airplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars? / I could really use a wish right now, wish right now, wish right now..." The teen sang quietly, still looking at the night sky. If she had one chance, what would she wish for? There was so much she wanted... so many aches that longed to be soothed.
Not that it mattered. Her wishes never came true anyways.
