Persephone's head broke the surface of the water, causing a quiet splash as she refilled her lungs with glorious oxygen. The water was a bit chilly this early in the morning, but she had wanted to get to the beach before most people would show up, and this was a reasonable hour for her. It was perfect. The morning silence was unbroken by human voices; the only sounds were the call of an occasional seabird and the waves breaking on the shore. Even the air was still. No breeze. Just complete and utter silence.
Persephone took a breath and then dove below again swimming around blindly for as long as possible before rising to take a breath. She then drifted on her back, noting that the sky was still a pleasant shade of vanilla, as the sun had only just risen. Persephone smiled. This was one of the great things about Hatsu Itonami. Despite being a city, there was still silence and solitude. She never got this when she lived with her family.
After a few more dives, Persephone swam for shore. She waded across the the shallows and went to grab her towel. But of course, a conveniently placed gust of wind managed to pick up said towel as blow it a few feet away. Persephone frowned and went to pick up the towel, only to have it blow farther away.
And so the chase began.
It was like the wind was toying with her, taunting her by lifting the towel just as Persephone got close enough to grab it. She continued to chase the towel down until after nearly ten minutes, she just plopped onto her back and gave up.
"Good riddance." She grumbled sourly. She didn't need the towel anyway.

Lilia was enjoying her run with Rose running by her she was looking up at the peaceful sky enjoying hearing nothing but Rose's paws against the sand and her bare feet running across the sand she was going to enjoy the swim she was going to take as soon as she ran her usual mile down the beach.
"Rose no leave that alone.." Lilia said as Rose ran over to somthing she picked her head up with a towel under her paw. Lilia looked around to see a girl sitting down.
"Oh it must be hers. Do you think we should take it to her?" Lilia asked Rose feeling silly but as soon as Rose took the towel into her mouth and set it at her feet she smiled.
"Okay lets go give it to her..." Lilia smiled and walked to the girl.

Persephone blinked and sat up as she heart the sound of more footsteps, and yet another human voice. Dusting the sand from her hair, she looked up to see a girl striding over to her with what appeared to be her towel. And behind her strode... a tiger?
'Well, you certainly don't see that every day.' Persephone thought with a chuckle. Then again, there was stranger. And everyone in this city seemed to have their quirks... this was just more noticeable.
"I see mother nature doesn't hate you like she does me." Persephone commented, still grinning toothily. "The wind just doesn't appear to be on my side today."

Lilia laughed when she heard the girls comment and handed her towel over to the young girl her age. Rose brushed Lilia's bare legs and when't strait up to the girl sniffing her making sure she was no threat.
"Yeah i guess mother nature has her jokes every now then with all of use..." Lilia said and as she brushed her long black hair out of her eyes.
'I hope she doesn't know who i am... And please lord no paparizzi' Lilia thought to herself.

Persephone gratefully accepted her runaway towel and proceeded to use it to make an attempt at drying her still-dripping hair. Still smiling, she lowered the towel and shook her long, dark bangs from her eyes and shifted her gaze up to the girl just in time to have the tiger stick its nose in her face, sniffing cautiously.
'Well... some people have guard dogs, and apparently some have tigers.' Persephone thought, still quite amused.
"So what's her name?" The dark-haired teen asked, still looking at the tiger. "And it would be nice if you'd be so kind to give me yours as well; purely for courtesy's sake."

Lilia smiled "Her name is Rose," she said 'should i tell her my real name? i dont want her freaking out or anything' Lilia thought to herself
"My name is Lilia Mae and Rose here is just being curious as to who you are." Lilia said as if it was nothing but mentaly she was cringing at the thought of what could happen if she was reporter.

"I not a threat or anything, I can tell you that much." Persephone replied, ever-present grin still upon her lips. "And although I'm sure it means little to Rose, my name's Persephone." She shook her dark hair from her face once more and then continued.
"So what brings you and your loyal compainion out to the tides in the wee hours of the mornin'?" Persephone inquirred kindly. Not that it was her bussiness or anything, but random conversations were always the best kind.

"Just going for my everyday run then swim, Rose here deciced to come with me instead of sleeping like she usually does..." Lilia said as Rose came back to her and layed down at her feet looking up at her.
"So what brings you out here?" Lilia asked with her best model grin and a tose of the hair over the shoulder.

"Any other time and there'd just be far too many people." Persephone stated with a shrug. "Places like this are really quiet around dawn." She reached down, taking a handful of sand and letting it spill through her fingers. "Where I grew up we didn't have any places like this. Never any quiet." She chuckled and smirked. "My sister once called it a 'city that never sleeps'. I told her I thought it needed to take a nap." Persephone's eyes momentarily flickered with memories, however, the look left as soon as if had come.

"Sounds like my life..." Lilia laughed "Never a brake in life and never a dull moment... Thats why i run out here and surf or swim after wards." Lilia said looking the girl in the eyes and smoothly smiling as if nothing was wrong.

Persephone nodded, still looking out at the sparkling ocean. "It's good the escape the madness induced by everday life." She agreed, shifting her gaze upwards. The vanilla sky was already fading into pale, milky blue. Within a few hours this place would be full of people. Isolation... destroyed.
With an inaudible sigh, Persephone blew her bangs out of her face. So much for thinking positive.
"So you surf?" She asked at last. "I've personally never tried. Is it fun?"

"Do you want me to teach you....?" Lilia said slowly.

"Uh..." Persephone, for once, was actually at a loss for words. She hadn't exactly been expecting that... but what was the worst that could happen? "If it's no trouble, sure!" She chirped. "After all, I'll never know if I like it unless I try, now will I?"

"Well, I wouldn't want to be a lazy burden, now would I?" Persephone asked, getting to her feet. She dusted the sand off her black swimsuit and hung the towel over her shoulder. "I'll come with."
