Kammi stood on the balcony looking out at the city. Her blond hair blowing in the harsh winds. "I don't even know why I came here" she whispered but silently she knew.
She needed to get away from it all.Ryu's disapperance.Mel hostpitalised.Moving to the barracks.Being 20 and not having a job.She chuckled at the last one. After all thats gone on she can only think about a job.
The sunset was beautiful. The colours dominating the sky and soon the stars would be out.A star a ball of fire but it was too beautiful to be that.

Yukiko had been exploring all the unfamiliar parts of the city recently, and at the moment, she had managed to find herself at the Momentum Tower. Twilight was rapidly descending, dull blackness with a dark, tainted red left over from the sunset. Yukiko could already imagine the thousands of stars that would soon be twinkling in the sky. She loved the stars. Maybe that would take her mind off all the stupid domestic problems fate had shoved onto her.
Yet as Yukiko walked further, she noticed that she was not alone in this place. It wasn't surprising, but nor was it anticipated. Whoever it was standing on the balcony, they seemed to be in deep thought. Rather like herself...
'Well Yuki, you can either be a chicken and turn the other way or be friendly and say something.' Yukiko thought. But in the end, she chose neither, just flipping open her sketch book, grabbing a pencil from behind her ear, and striding over to the balcony to start drawing. At least she'd have a reason for being there then.

Yukiko smiled thoughtfully and paused for a beat before responding. "Yukiko." She stated sweetly before adding another quick line to whatever it was that had started to form on the picture. "And quite honestly, I have no idea what this will be. At the moment... it sort of resembles buildings I guess." She laughed sheepishly.

"Buildings are cool.Unkown is cooler" she said the adding "but the stars are the coolest" she said leaning on the railing.

Yukiko blinked, looking out across the balcony to the starlit sky above and smiled softly. "Yeah," she agreed, examining the diamond-like drops that hung on the black velvet canvas that was was the sky. Quietly, she traced the big dipper, recalling the times she had stargazed and proudly pointed out the constilations to her brothers as a child. Those were good memories at least.
"It's a shame the city lights can blot them out in places though." Yukiko stated with a sigh. She suppossed in the country, they'd be far clearer. Not that she'd ever get the chance to discover for herself.

"Yup.I wish just one day a year they could just turn all the lights off and look at the stars" she said leaning on the bar again "It would just be so pretty"

Yukiko blinked dreamily. "That'd be nice." She agreed, resting her elbows on the railing after slipping her sketch pad into the bag hanging at her side and tucking the pencil behind her ear. She rested her chin on her inter-woven fingers, looking thoughtfully out into the city and then back at the stars.
"It's hard to find utter silence in the city too." She murmured, enjoying the momentary tranquility. "Everyone's always doing something... never nothing."

"Yeah its all driving or working or talking.Even when people are meant to be asleep its still noisy.I mean I can hear planes.Planes? We don't even have an airport" she muttered.

Yukiko gave a sympathetic groan. "Tell me about it." She muttered, blowing the bangs out of her face in frustration. "Noise, noise, noise. I really can't stand being in the city sometimes. Too many people, too much stuff crammed in one space. Just too much." Silently she added 'New reason to add to "Reasons Why Dad Left'.'

"Hmm I think its why so many people move to the country" she sighed "Even though it is pretty cool here"

"Yeah I guess." Yukiko agreed almost dreamily. "To be honest, I think I'm just more of a country gal. Not that I've ever actually tried it... but," she managed a smile, "I am my father's daughter, I suppose. He did- doesn't like cities a whole lot." Her eyes shifted to the side, her mind still processing her small mistake. "But at the same time, there are some pretty cool places and people here too."

Yukiko blinked a little in surprise. So she wasn't alone here. She remebered wanting to stay in the city on the off chance 'Daddy' decided to pop in for a visit. Needless to say that hadn't happened, and she'd given up on the idea long ago.
"You too, huh?" She sighed. "Small world."
