Matsuda was sitting at the bar, finishing off the first of what might end up to be many beers. The blond wasn't normally the drinking type, but today was different...
The day started off normal, at least normal in his household. His father had another 'moment' and had tried hitting his mother. Matsuda, being the person he was, got it the way and ended up in a fist fight with his dad, again.
He rubbed his arm a little, it was pretty bruised up, and the headache didn't help at all. There were other spots on the blond that bruises could be seen, but he ignored it like he did with every sort of pain that came his way.
And well, as for the even worse part, today had been the exact day his sister had died in that fire. Once again, Matsuda had tried looking for her name at the cemetery, but it couldn't be found. It total: This day sucked worse than it normally did, and it didn't help that he looked more like Hotaru than their youngest sister.
Taking a deep breath, he looked up at the bartender. "Another." he stated, not all there.

Jack trotted through the bar's entrance and plunked down at a seat on the bar. He didn't drink much, and when he did he was typically at home so as not to make a complete fool of himself. Today seemed like the right time to try Freed's though. Not that he had any idea what to get, so when asked what drink he'd like by the bartender he looked at the person next to him.
"Uh... I'll have what he's having." He grinned, pointing at the blond beside him. Waiting for the drink led to a little boredom, so he decided to strike up a conversation. It was a slow night though, and his options seemed limited. He returned his focus to the blond man, noticing the green wristband, he brightened. "Hey," He began with a friendly smile. "You in Ookami?" It was at least a start...

Kage trudged through the door to Freed's, tossing his coin in his hand idly. He normally wouldn't have come to such a place, not being a drinker of any sort most of the time (and having very little spending money, due to his tendency to be somewhat of a street rat), but tonight was boring. Inexplicably so, as it turned out. The Tora hadn't had any good Duels as of late, and his friends were nowhere to be found. As the young man approached the bar, he noticed two other individuals seated there. Perhaps some conversation might dull the gnawing lack of happenings.
"I'll take a beer," said Kage as he settled into a seat. "Whatever's on the tap is fine." He looked at the man next to him and saw the various decorations of black and blue. "Wow..." he mused. "Who's cards did you rip up?"

Matsuda noticed the two sitting on both sides of him. He turned to the one that spoke first. "Yeah, I'm Ookami." he replied, trying to grin slightly. He really didn't want to answer the other question coming from the Tora beside him, but that might lead up to some things he just didn't want to deal with at the moment.
"No," he told him, trying to sound calm. "I just got into a fight with the worse monster in history." he took the beer being placed in front of him and gulped it down for a moment before setting it down again.
Trying to avoid anymore questions about his bruises, he looked back and forth at the two. "So, do you gentlemen have any names?"

Jack grinned wider, glad he had gotten a response at least. It was strange that that was the best conversation starter he had come up with. Typically he was better at this. Ah, well, some times these things happened. He gave a two fingered salute. "Jack King, at your service." He stopped, noticing the amount of drinks. "Unless that means paying your tab, that is..."

Kage couldn't help but chuckle at Jack's comment. He grinned at the man apologetically.
"Didn't mean to ask a bad question, friend," he said sheepishly. "Yeah, I've got names attached to me, but most are quite crass. I'll tolerate Kage, though, do it please ya."

Matsuda smiled, making it a little harder on him that he was cursed with sharing his sister's smile. He was just glad there wasn't a mirror near by. "Alright, Kage, Jack, nice to meet you two. I'm Matsuda Megumi." when he finished introducing himself he took another drink. He sat it down and sighed. "Sorry about this, I normally don't drink." he tried laughing.

Jack was struck by how much he looked like Hotaru when he smiled, and was struck speechless when he heard his name. The younger of the Ookami's sat there blinking for a few minutes in an attempt to work out how best to address the situation. The talking would be left to Kage for a minute or two...

Kage lofted a brow at Matsuda's statement. The name Matsuda reminded him of an ancient cartoon he had watched as a child (his late parents had collected artifacts like old shows and games)... Death Note, wasn't it? Still, the blonde man's comment about his drinking was a little odd.
"You don't need to apologize, Matsuda," he said. "I don't think any of us look like the drinking type. We've all got our days, though." He picked up his own beer and took an almost tentative swig. "I suppose that out of the three of us, my reason's probably the worst..."

With sluggish steps, Cross sauntered into the bar and plopped down in a seat at the end of the bar, with her earphones in her ears, blotting out all sounds. She hadn't cried, she couldn't, but it still hurt every year...
Exactly 3 years ago, her idol, her closest person in the entire world, her rock, her only sibling, her older brother Adrian was murdered. In memory of him, she went to the graveyard and visited.
Her eyes were staring at the small cracks on the bar and she looked up slightly at Freed. "One Coke... a little extra kick if you will..." She said, then turning up the Ipod and running her hands through her hair with a loud and audible sigh. She didn't notice the guys just down the bar...

Matsuda shrugged a little at Kage's comment. "Is your sister dead...?" he asked under his breath. He gulped down the rest of the beer and asked for another before turning to Jack. "Hey... you alright?" he asked the younger Ookami. The blond swayed a bit before resting his arms on the bar. He was beginning to feel the alcohol now...

Jack was still silently debating whether or not to bring up the topic when the question was posed. He snapped back into reality. "Huh?" He blinked away the last of the haze. "Oh, yeah, I'm fine..." He decided to ask, he could cover it as just curiosity. "Hey, Matusda, you got any siblings?" He asked, trying to turn it into a joke. "They're one of the few things that drive me to drinking."

Dead sister...? thought Kage, a flash of surprise going through his brain that Joshua or Jeremiah's voice didn't ask it. If that's recent, that would explain the bruises... best not to ask, most likely.
"Can't say that I even have a sister to worry about," he replied aloud. "That's a pretty valid reason to drink, though... Mine's the worst because I was just bored." He took another drink and let his eyes wander around the room. They rested upon a woman sitting at the end of the bar, but Kage deemed it best (judging by the earphones and faintly audible music) that she not be approached.

Matsuda made a fake attempt at his usual grin. "Yeah, two little sisters..." his grinned faded into a frown as he looked at the bar. "One died a while back though... Hated fire ever since..."
Wanting to get his attention off of the subject, he noticed a girl a few seats down the bar. She seemed lonely. "Hey, miss? Need company?" he said this sincerely. She just seemed a little out of it.

As the song was changing, she could hear a guy's voice. She looked up and noticed with surprise the 3 guys. She barely caught what he said as the next song started. She pulled out the ipod and paused it.
"Were you talking to me?" She asked looking around. She noticed the guy on the end and her lips slightly quirked into something close to a smile, but not quite. "Hiya Jackie, we seem to run into eachother often huh?"
