Ayame walked onto the Golden Foot Field, smiling slightly. "Any Tora within hearing, come and defend the Golden Foot Field...if you are not a clan of cowards!"
She was in her persona of "The Seer," a much less polite and more frightening one. The silver-haired young woman was here to reclaim territory that had been taken from the Ookami, and perhaps to add a bit to her personal legend. She and her deck were ready for anyone.

"Hmm... really?" Rex smirked lightly, running her right bandaged hand through her hair. "You look... considerably older then most of the people fighting in this war."
"But fear not, I do not discriminate because of age. Let's duel!" She held her duel disk at the ready, preparing for the worst.

Ayame made a face. "I'm twenty-five. That's hardly old," she said, taking a brief moment to register who this was. Rex Coelestis, user of a rather powerful Fairy deck. He had twice humiliated the Ookami, first by taking the Golden Foot Field and second by defeating The Butterfly Knife in the DarkBright Arena. Well, she would not be foolish enough to use her Guardians against him. She slid her second deck in, and the Duel Disk activated.

Rex raised an eyebrow, but decided not to mention how it seemed like a huge majority of people she had run into in this city hadn't even hit 20 yet.
--- An X Amount Of Time Later ---
Rex was off to a a bad start. A bad, high level filled hand and the girl blocking just about every move she could. Eventually though, she managed to turn the game around when she drew into her Hall of the Fallen. It gave Rex a fighting chance to reverse her fate, until finally she had managed to push for game, ending the duel with just 300 points to spare.
"Well met." The holograms faded as Rex smiled, adjusting her tie before walking towards the older female, an open palm extended for a hand shake.

Ayame took Rex's hand. No reason to be impolite after a duel. "Indeed," she said, smiling slightly. "Though I've always thought that was quite the feminine deck for a young man..." She laughed softly.
She considered whether or not she sohuld ask this young man about Caitlyn. She knew that her old apprentice had been drafted into the Tora, and Rex should be about her age.
"I don't mean to pry...well, I suppose I do," she corrected herself, "but would you happen to know a young lady by the name of Caitlyn Masters?" She asked, taking her hand out of Rex's.

She raised an eyebrow, perhaps taking offense to Ayame's comment about her deck. However, she held her tounge and decided it best to take the high road.
"Caitlyn?" Rex wondered how the older woman knew of her, before realizing she was in he same clan as the Butterfly Knife. She looked at her nails, a notable tone of annoyance in her voice. "I take it that laughable oaf Jubei is flaunting her about as his girlfriend and such at the Ookami head quarters?"

Ayame's expression went from querying to horrified to borderline murderous in approximately 0.5 seconds. "No, that is not how I know her, but it seems I need to have a word with the Butterfly Knife once I return to Headquarters," she said darkly.
"I ask about her because she was like a daughter to me before she was conscripted, and I worry about her," she said, crossing her arms. "Clearly, I have good cause, if she is this foolish without me watching over her."

It seemed the young woman hadn't quite approved of Caitlyn's relationship with Jubei as much as Rex did. He could tell they'd get along swimmingly.
Her last words left Rex quite for a moment. "Well, I don't believe it's quite like that..." She stared down for a second, before noting shoes were untied. Rex bent at her knees, kneeling down to tie her shoes.
"I mean, she was a young lady who seems to have had quite a rough past. Spending any length of time homeless before being forced to choose either death or joining a war she doesn't particularly support." She finished tying, standing upright now. "Being largely unrecognized in her clan, I'd say it was easy for Jubei to prey on the young ladies insecurities."
She let her words sink in for a second before speaking once again. "By the way, the name's Rex Coelestis."

Ayame sighed. "I suppose you would know better than I," she said dryly. "As I said, it has been three years since I have seen her."
She considered Rex's words for a moment, and shook her head. "I know plenty of her past," she said, "likely a bit more than you do...and yes, Caitlyn did have it quite rough, and she always said that the war was pointless... Though I cannot say that I ever saw her as one who would mind not being recognized. Perhaps she has changed as she has grown,"
She gave Rex a polite smile. "Most simply know me as The Seer, but I suppose you may call me Ayame,"

"Well, despite what she may show on the surface, it is my strong belief that no one could possibly mind 'not being recognized'. After all, we put in some amount of work into everything we do, and when we feel we did something good we would want other people to see our work as good, or at least that's what I think." She smiled.
"The Seer? Like a fortune teller?" a light chuckle from Rex. "I doubt she'd have gone into fortune telling unless she were looking for approval from a certain..." She looked Ayame in the eyes as she struggled to find the right word. "maternal figure."
She blinked twice, before taking a breathe as though changing the subject. "By the way, your clearly a fortune teller, so can you answer this question that's been bothering me for quite some time? When dealing with Tarot Cards, what does it mean when The Queen of Cups, The High Priestess, Temperance, and the Hanged Man are drawn?"

Ayame shrugged. "Perhaps you are correct. I would hardly know, I am fairly well known," she said. She didn't mean to brag, it was merely a statement of fact.
"Fortuneteller indeed...and a true seer." Ayame smirked slighlty. She had done much to cultivate her reputation of being able to predict her opponents. "I taught her to read the cards. The Tarot deck she has now was once mine," she informed Rex.
She considered the layout of cards she was given. "What spread did that combination appear in, and in what positions?" She asked. "I cannot tell you what it may mean without that information,"

She scratched her head with her badadged up right hand. "Spread and Position? Well..." Rex tried to recall the night, but she couldn't see it all in her head. The movements, they all blurred with the dancing. The words, they all blurred with Teddy's intoxicated ramblings. "Hmm... I do not seem to recall..." she said, feeling a tad bit awful she had forgotten such a key detail.
"In any case, I'm sure it must be excellent to have someone you can look up to, a major goal in life to strive towards." She thought back to herself, and the life she gave up. "I can't say the same for myself."

Ayame smiled slighlty as she read Rex's expression. "Was a lot going on at the time?" She asked. She wondered if perhaps this young man was a bit jealous of Caitlyn and Jubei. Well, that was quite the interesting idea. "Well, if it comes back to you, I would be glad to give you more details of what those four might mean in conjunction."
"I should hope I provide someone worth looking up to." Ayame smiled slighlty. "I cannot believe that you do not have goals or people you admire,"
