Oh man, maybe… maybe he should just go. He should just leave before he started anythi--
Wait, no way, he'd been looking forward to this his whole life, and he drove all the way here! Not to mention he got this weird bracelet and he couldn't leave the city. Dammit, why didn't he think this through?
Lorenzo stood in front of the door for what felt like eternity, debating on whether he should knock or not. This was his dad's house, his dad. Lorenzo couldn't help his nerves, what if he didn't believe him? Well wait, that was why he was holding the papers in his hand, proof would be good after all. But, what if he told him to leave? According to what his mom told him, his father wasn't that kind of person, but she hadn't seen him in over twenty-three years...
Renzo took a deep breath, he couldn't keep doing this to himself. Just knock already, you know how to!
He hesitated as his knuckles came up to the door, but after a moment more he forced himself to knock a couple of times and took a step back. Lorenzo ran his free hand through his hair and rubbed his chin before shoving the hand into his pocket, no turning back now. Oh god he hoped this wasn't a mistake.

Egil was closest to the door when the knock sounded, it only made sense he be the one to finish wiping the dishwater off his hands as dinner cooked in the oven and go over to answer it. Tori was doing her homework as far as he was aware. "Coming!" He called. He'd gotten better at not freezing when a phone rang or when the door sounded over his years with Don, and just knowing the other ex-Ookami was in the house helped him feel braver. Answering the door wasn't a problem.
He moved over and opened the door, blinking at the young man standing in front of him. He looked... strikingly like Don.. "Hello?" He said, more of a question than anything. He'd almost been expecting Mina or Julie barging in to get at the dinner, this was... definitely neither of them.

Lorenzo nearly panicked as the door opened to a man that CLEARLY wasn't who he was looking for. He had to remind himself to breathe yet again and the hand in his pocket began to fidget. It took a lot to keep himself from moving a lot and SHIT, did he forget to take his meds this morning? He couldn't remember.
"Oh, uh…" He started before forcing himself to say something more intelligent. "Sorry sir, I'm um, looking for Donato Martelli, guess I got the address wrong." He gave a small laugh and took a slight step backward. Ohh this was embarrassing, this was so embarrassing, what was he gonna do now? He could have SWORN this was the address!
Meanwhile, the Italian himself had just gotten out of the shower. Don could smell dinner cooking and hoped it'd be done soon, Egil's cooking never disappointed. It was all the motivation he needed to pick up the pace, and he quickly towel dried his hair and got dressed before heading to the front of the house. He heard his husband talking to someone, they usually didn't have visitors at this time of day unless someone was wanting to snag some food.

Egil shook his head, eyes a little wider. "No, no," Egil assured the young man on the doorstep, "Don is my husband, you are in the right place." There was a sneaking suspicion in Egil's mind over what this was about. But... well, he didn't want to assume, and-
Oh, speak of the devil.
"Don," he called out, turning and stepping a little aside so the older man could come to the door. "There is someone here for you."

Renzo's eyes widen a little as well. He'd heard his dad had his own family, but he'd been so nervous and caught up in trying to figure out how he was going to drop the bomb that he hadn't actually thought about said family. He had a stepdad, this blond guy was his stepdad.
Thank god, if things went well here then he didn't have to stress over a coming out speech.
What little amount of relief he had gotten was almost instantly replaced with anxiety all over again as he saw the other man walking up to the door. He was older, and the scar on his lip was new, but there was no doubt in his mind that this was the guy in the photo his mom gave him. His dad…
Donato's eyebrows raised slightly at Egil's words, who would be coming to see him right now? He stood next to his husband and looked at the young man standing in front of them. "Hey there, I'm Don, what can I do for ya?" He smiled and held his hand out. The kid looked… familiar. Like, weirdly familiar. It wasn't often that he came across people with skin that tan around here; it was darker his own skin for sure. In fact, Nadia was the only one to come to mind that fit a similar description, but… huh.
Lorenzo looked down at the hand for a moment and just blinked before remembering he needed to shake his hand. Oh god, this was really happening. He pulled his free hand out of his pocket and shook Don's hand while trying to get his words together. He'd been rehearsing this longer than he cared to admit, he should have this down by now. "I, if you don't mind, um," He paused and cleared his throat, he should try that again. "If you could listen to me for a few moments, I'd to just get everything out and over with, if that's okay. I won't take long, but it's kind of a lot to get out."
Don just tilted his head a little and gave a nod for the young man to go. "Sure, go for it."
A nervous smile formed on Renzo, and he took one more deep breath before beginning. "Alright, my name's Lorenzo Jimenez, I'm twenty-three years old." With that he held out his driver's license for Don to look at. Part one of three, he'd prepared proof to keep the confusion to a minimum. "About twenty-four years ago, you and your girlfriend at the time, Nadia Jimenez, broke up." Part two, he handed over a photo of Don in his early twenties, hugging a young woman with black curly hair while they shared the kind of smiles that only came from laughing, Renzo loved that picture. "Well, not too long after that she found out she was pregnant, and since it was so soon after the break up she knew you'd still be upset, and she didn't want to tell you and make things even harder for you…" He rubbed his arm awkwardly as he trailed off, almost forgetting the last paper that was in his hand. The new Ookami held up a birth certificate with his name on it, along with 'Nadia Jimenez' as the mother, and 'Donato Lorenzo Martelli' as the father.
"So yeah, I'm your son." It was a lamer ending than he'd hoped he'd come up with, but things were getting awkward fast and his dad looked like he was having a hard time processing everything he had just been told. Lorenzo frowned and started fidgeting again. "I know it's out of nowhere, but we've been trying to find you for a while now to tell you and…" Both hands came up to the back of his neck and Lorenzo started swaying from side to side, he couldn't keep his legs still anymore this was too scary. "I can go and come back tomorrow maybe? I mean, if you want me to…"
For once in his life, Don was at a complete and total loss for words. He just kept staring at the papers in his hands as his brain tried to processing what he had just heard.

Egil looked between his husband and- and his husband's son- his stepson. There was a little bit of happiness bubbling up at that, another member of the family! Well, not if Lorenzo didn't want to, but with the bracelet and the city's rules it wasn't like he had much choice.. Don looked at a loss for words and Lorenzo looked awkward. There was a sinking feeling cutting through the joy of more family, finding the young man again later would be more awkward than working through it now. Well, he could help with that, at least.
"Lorenzo," he started, putting an arm around Don's shoulders to help ground him as he spoke to Lorenzo. "Would you like to stay for dinner? It is nearly ready and it is getting late, you should not be out at night until you know the city." He probably should discuss that with Don but... there wasn't really a lot of time for it, was there? And Don would have questions soon, he hoped... He didn't want Lorenzo to feel unwelcome either, if he could have found his own family again somehow, he would have wanted to stay. So, that was his offer.

Lorenzo's eyes lit up at that, he- what? This dude- er, his stepdad- was inviting him in? The hell? Like, it was totally awesome and kind of him, but Renzo thought stepparents weren't so keen on the idea of stepchildren, or at least anything to do with a spouse's ex. But he was being nice, and the new Ookami couldn't help his smile at that. "I- seriously? Are you sure?" His eyes moved back to Don and he tried to wipe the smile off his face to keep his hopes from getting too high.
It wasn't until Egil's arm was around him that Don came back to the situation at hand. He wasn't necessarily surprised by his husband inviting Lorenzo inside for dinner, to this day Egil was still a total saint and the sweetest person Don had ever met, but the news hadn't seemed to shake the blond at all. His eyes went back to… to his son, and ah dammit the kid looked so hopeful. None of this was is fault, and he'd come all the way here to see him…
Finally Donato found it in him to speak, and he gave a nod first. "Yeah, the streets around here aren't the safest when it's dark." And he'd feel pretty damn guilty if something happened to him, you never knew with this city.
It was enough for Renzo's smile to come back full force, and Donato was kind of shocked to see how identical it was to his own. "Yeah, definitely! Thank you!" He might have been a little too loud at that, but dammit he was excited!

Egil smiled as Don finally found his words again. That was good. They'd probably need to talk quickly before dinner, he wasn't sure, but since their home wasn't too large and Tori hadn't come out of her room yet at the smell of dinner there was an easy way to get some time. "Lorenzo, would you mind heading down the hall to get Tori? She is our daughter, you can meet before dinner and wash up, and also help to set the table?" Egil mostly wanted to get Don's thoughts, after all he had invited Lorenzo in without conferring with him...
Not that Don appeared to mind, but Egil didn't want to make decisions without conference. It didn't feel right to take all the control. It felt imbalanced.

"But I'm right here!" A voice called before a hand could be seen reaching upward to get the three's attention. Donato blinked and moved enough to let a tiny brunette make her way through and look up at Lorenzo. Tori had overheard just enough to know what was going on, and her bright smile showed her excitement at the news. She had a big brother, and a REALLY cute one! Okay, maybe that sounds weird, but it's not like they're blood, there's nothing bad about acknowledging it. "Lorenzo, right? I'm gonna call you Renzo. Come with me, we've gotta talk." With that she grabbed the young man's wrist and tugged him along to follow her. If he was going to be part of this family, it was her duty to warn him of the potential crazy he'd no doubt find himself in.
Lorenzo seemed to go along with being pulled along, Don thought to himself. He waited until the two of them were out of sight and the Italian ran his free hand through his hair and grabbed at it for a moment. He glanced down at the license, photo, and birth certificate that were still in his other hand before sighing and looking up at his husband. "So, I uh…" He trailed off, trying to find a way to word his thoughts. "You're… okay with this?" It shouldn't surprise him, honestly, but this was just a really weird situation and Don was still having trouble with the sudden bomb of info that was dropped on him.

Egil smiled down at Tori. She looked and sounded excited, at least. That was good, he didn't have to worry about this being an upset to her so that was really just fantastic. He watched as his daughter pulled his stepson further into the apartment. This was... warm. He'd missed having a bigger family, not that he didn't love having Don and Tori around.
He turned to Don at the Italian's question, and gave it a moment of thought. "He is a lot like you," Egil said after a moment. "It is hard for me to not like someone so much like you," he smiled again. "And," he added on after a second. "It may not have set in yet, but I think I am very okay with this... are you?" That was just as important. This was a child Don hadn't realized he'd had, there could be so many things running through his head about Lorenzo... Egil hoped the thoughts weren't all bad.

Don leaned on Egil a little as he thought. "Well, if Nadia raised him then I know he's a good kid." While the breakup had hurt like hell at the time, there really weren't any bad feelings in the long run. He loved where he'd ended up, and he hoped his ex-girlfriend felt the same way where she was at. "So yeah, that's the only other thing that matters to me. Just gonna take some time getting used to."
He sighed after another thought hit him and frowned. "He said they'd been looking for me for a while." He mumbled as he started to feel guilt eat at him. A lot of that had been due to the work he'd been doing with his father at Interpol, and the rest of that time he'd been here in the city. All that time and he never knew...
