After another sip Kiyoko sat her glass down and looked back at Satoru. She kept her smile and nodded. "We can certainly do that." She assured him, taking that as her invitation to start and she leaned in to kiss him. It was the most basic thing to start with, so she might as well.

Satoru shut his eyes and held his breath.
It wasn't that the kiss was bad, per say, it was lips, and it wasn't like he had too many experiences to compare with. It just, it didn't feel quite right. Kiyoko was soft, her lips were fuller than Satoru had expected or wanted, and he knew he should try this but this didn't feel right.
He pulled back, shifting a little farther away from Kiyoko to put distance between them. "Stop."

Kiyoko pulled back when she felt Satoru do the same, moving back in the opposite direction that he was shifting to put more distance between them. "I-I'm sorry." She rushed to say, trying to keep herself calm. Oh god, she'd done something wrong didn't she?! She didn't know what but she'd fucked up somewhere and now he was gonna hit her when her last bruises had JUST gone away, stupid STUPID girl...

Ryota had taught Satoru how to read people a long time ago, he'd cited it as one of the most important skills he'd need to survive. Learn how to tell friend from foe as fast as you can, and then detect the weak points in defense to take out foe and friend alike should it be necessary. Kiyoko was scared.
Satoru set aside the drink, "It's nothing you did," he said, voice almost a monotone and as calm as he could muster. "I'm just... not..." He gestured vaguely, voice beginning to turn awkward again. "It's not the right person." He settled for. That was vague enough.

Not the right person? If that was the case then... "So then you don't wanna do this either...?" Her voice was quiet, but her eyes and small smile expressed enough hope that Kiyoko really shouldn't of had. She never got this lucky, it had to be a trick, right? But she'd learned how to act over her time here and it was getting easy to tell when someone else was doing the same, Satoru seemed genuine about this.

"God no," Satoru said, the first burst of relief he'd felt in what was surely weeks coming out in his voice. "I really really don't want to do this." The faintest hint of a smile was starting to cross his face. She didn't either, despite being paid for it, that was great! Probably wasn't so great in most other circumstances, but it worked for him! "Maybe we can just talk instead or something?" He did have the whole night, and he hadn't met too many other people his age that he wasn't robbing from or shooting at.

Kiyo's smile stretched to one that was a lot more cheerful and relieved than before and she nodded. "Yeah, yeah I'd like that a lot." She replied, her posture relaxing. Was it weird that he came to a brothel and didn't want sex? Definitely, but Kiyoko wasn't going to ask any questions. This was good, this was very very good.

-*TIMESKIP*-
It wasn't too often that Satoru got to see Kiyoko, once every two months or so was much better than most, though. The gang having long standing agreements with Jun thanks to Ryota's work was always a benefit. Still, it was expensive enough that Satoru was going to justify stealing supplies before he headed over.
He knew the route to Kiyoko's room by heart, and he always cleared the night. He and Kiyoko both needed a night without worrying about what would happen every once in a while, this was the easiest way. The young gunslinger knocked on the door, keeping his face blank for the moment.

"Coming!" Kiyoko called on her way to her door. The day had been normal compared to her usual routine, only a couple of small bruises that were hidden under her robe, so she was calling that a win for her. Though seeing who was standing on the other side of the door certainly made things even better.
Kiyo's eyes lit up and she smiled when she saw Satoru. It was part of her job to look happy when she was with clients, so no one would think twice about it if they saw. "Well if it isn't my favorite customer~" she said as she held her hand out to him. Toru was easily her one and only friend(the other girls were understandably competitive, and it didn't help that she had more of Jun's favor), and he could really only afford to come see her every so often. It was always worth it though, they both deserved a break.

Satoru just took her hand and stepped in without a word, closing the door with his foot before letting himself smile. "Hi Kiyo," he greeted once the door was shut tight. He knew the risks if he was caught, he wasn't sure what Jun would do to Kiyo, though, she was getting paid after all... He didn't want to take any chances with his friend's safety on the line, though.
"I brought something," he said, rummaging through his pockets to pull out a pair of small packages. He'd dropped by one of the few bakeries still running, and he picked up enough for both of them. "Cookies."

Kiyo's eyes widened slightly at the packages and her smile grew. "Have I ever told you how awesome you are?" She asked as she went to hug him. She couldn't remember the last time she'd had cookies, but she DID remember how wonderfully sweet and delicious they were. "Did you steal them or actually pay for 'em?" She couldn't help but ask, Satoru was already spending a lot of money just to visit her when he could.

"I took them as extra on the usual protection money they pay," he shrugged as he passed over one of the packages to Kiyo. Four per package, same variety in both. Equal. He liked that idea. Besides, he might be able to trade her for her white-chocolate macadamia anyway. "Good day or bad day?" He asked. He always tried to make sure of what Kiyo was putting up with before they flopped down for a night to catch up. It helped determine how they were arranged and what they did.
They'd nearly broken a bed by jumping on it once, but they HAD had to convince a few people they were up to what they said they were up to.

Kiyoko nodded at that and took the package. Good, he wasn't wasting more money on her. She shrugged at the question. "Neither, I guess?" It hadn't been a BAD day necessarily, but her version of a good day involved not having any physical marks by the end of it. The hand that wasn't holding her bag of cookies gently poked a spot on her hip and she flinched a little. "Yeah, just a normal day." She said to confirm it more to herself.

Well that was better than her having anything broken, Satoru just nodded. He was going to take it as good news. Or good enough news, in any case. He kept his pack of cookies firmly in hand as he took a few steps towards the bed, spun, and flopped down on his back, bouncing a little on impact. "Everyone's laid off since we started this, so thanks, Kiyo," he said, smiling. He hadn't had any trouble with the gang for ages thanks to all this, the usual hassle but nothing like he'd had for that bit of time right after The Incident.
"Now help me eat these cookies and get crumbs everywhere, we've fucking earned it."

"Hell yeah we have!" Kiyo agreed as she flopped down beside him on the bed. It was so much easier to appreciate the softness of it when she could actually relax.
"And you don't have to thank me," she added quickly in response to his other comment. "You being a somewhat regular puts more money in Lady Jun's pocket, which is good news for me." It was the biggest rule there: the more useful you were to Jun, the more Jun took care of you. So thinking of thing that way they were really helping each other out.
