Satoru shrugged as they passed into the room. "Just say thank you or nod, I really don't care which." He said as he watched Egil release Karina so she could settle onto the bed as she saw fit.
Egil motioned to Gabe. They had a pool of blood to clean up before anyone saw it, and admittedly the Swede was much better at that than the younger blond was.

The whitette carefully made her way to sit on the bed made for her as Gabe left the room with Egil. "I'm thankful, don't get me wrong." She began to Satoru as the blonds walked out. "I'm just a little confused, I guess? You and Kiyoko had made it sound like I was some monster." Why would they help her?

The door didn't quite shut, something Satoru couldn't help but be grateful for, but they were alone. He sighed and shifted a bit in his chair. "Well, you were engineered to be one." He said. "You were born with a talent to kill, that's undeniable." And she'd accumulated the skills to be pretty damn good, he knew how easy it was to fuck up and get yourself killed.
"But you still haven't done a fraction of the shit I did by your age." He said, leveling her a serious look. Satoru hadn't ever really gone into detail about any of this with anyone other than a therapist that Keith (and honestly, most everyone he knew personally) had made him see, and Karina wasn't really bound to confidentiality. "I was killing by the time I was twelve, and I can claim the first time was self-defense, sure, but I was raised to do that shit and it didn't stop there. I killed dozens, maybe hundreds of people." He'd honestly lost count, he just knew there were a lot of bodies he was responsible for. "I've committed arson, kidnapped, extorted, dealt in arms, cut open drug mules and left them to rot in the middle of an alleyway because no one would give a shit if some kid got in over his head with the mob and died."
"I've tortured people for information, didn't care much for it but I was pretty good at it; I can tell you how much people start screaming when you start flaying them, and I can tell you how much blood someone can use before you have to set up a transfusion, and I can tell you which drugs give the most terrifying hallucinations..." He had been keeping eye contact the entire time, only breaking it as he gave another sigh.
He could go on, but... "Really kid, if you want to compare monsters, I outclass you."

The room was silent for a few moments after that, not because Karina was shocked necessarily(for someone to know about/live in New Tokyo and be fine with helping a Ghost she pretty much expected some sort of a history like that), but because she just didn't know how to respond. When he put it that way, it didn't seem as hard for her to believe him helping her. The man had done way more than she ever had, there was no contest there. Though there was one thing she had over him, and it was nothing she wanted to brag about.
In fact, she never wanted to talk about it, not ever, but at the same time she figured that withholding information like this wasn't a good idea when it came to the only people that were actually willing to help her with this whole thing. "I killed a man when I was four." She said quickly, because if she had given herself time to prepare to say it she wasn't so sure if she would go through with it. Karina's voice calmed after that and continued. "Kiyoko had asked if anything happened right before Merry and I were taken out of the city. I didn't want to say anything with Merry listening; she was too young to remember it ever happening. He'd broken in, and I was scared he would hurt Merry, so I grabbed a knife and it just happened."
Karina sighed and frowned. "I kept wanting to do it more after that, but I didn't want my sister to be scared of me. I thought I was insane, but I was able to hold it in for a long time. Then I found out what I was from you two and I don't know." She shrugged. "I guess I just gave in." She still couldn't have her family find out, if they knew... They just couldn't find out.

Satoru would later be proud of how blank he kept his face. Kiyoko had told him a bit of the Ghost training process, most of them didn't kill until they hit adolescence and yet Karina had killed at four? That didn't bode well. Hell, the fact that she had kept a lid on it for so long was astounding. "At least you're getting it out constructively," he said, deciding to not mention the age.
He rested his chin in a hand. "I mean there's two options now just like there always were: hold it in and suppress it until you snap and take out all the pent up aggression on someone you care about," he started. He knew how that one happened. Issues always found a way to come to the forefront. "Or," he continued, "find a few people who need killing and take them out. Honestly I'm glad you hit option number two here..." At least now she had some backup.
There was a pause. "The people I employ are used to cleaning up messes and tending injuries, if you ever need a place to stay and you don't want to talk to your parents about all this, well..." He smirked a little. "You know how the window opens."

Karina gave a tired smile. "Thank you, I'm really grateful for all the help." This had been so much more than she was hoping they could do for her, and staying here beat trying to find another place to stay while walking with a bullet lodged in her leg. She removed the sword that had been strapped to her back and sat it near the bed as a thought came to mind.
"If there's ever something I could be of assistance with, don't hesitate to ask." It was the least she could do, she figured. The teen wasn't sure if there would be a situation where her... talents, would be of use for them, but it was still something she wanted to offer.
