Little Things(Satoru/Lil Gabe)

[Gabe Alabaster]

"Toru Toru Toru!" A little boy of about four called as he ran out of the kitchen. He had a spoon in each hand as he ran around to where his step daddy might be. "I can't find my drums! Daddy hid my drums!!" The 'drums' he was referring to were the pots and pans that were SUPPOSED to be used for cooking when the men of the house decided to actually give it a try. When they weren't being used for food however, Gabe had taken it upon himself to play the drums on them.

Right now though they were gone and Daddy was at work so he couldn't ask him! Toru would know though, Toru knows everything.

Satoru's looked up from his spot on the couch. He honestly enjoyed having days off, especially now that Gabe was old enough to be a bit better company than just being a sleeping baby. The four year old was a good kid... though the spoons in his hands were a good sign of the noise to come. Ah well, 'drumming' wasn't hurting anyone. "Yeah, I think I saw where he hid them, c'mon."

It was less 'hiding' and more 'putting them away properly.' They were in a cabinet out of Gabe's eager reach, though, so that probably counted as hiding in the child's mind. He stood and headed towards the kitchen with the blond child in tow.

Gabe moved one of the spoons into his other hand so he had a free hand to grab Toru's and tug him into the kitchen faster. "I want my drums Toru! I made a song for you!" It was for Daddy too, but since he wasn't there right then he'd show him later. Daddy and Toru loved his songs, so he made a lot for them!

Satoru laughed a little as he let himself be pulled by the little boy. "For me? Really?" He smiled and came to a halt by the cabinet they stored the assorted pots and pans and opened it up. They weren't difficult to get down, and thankfully they weren't especially heavy, and he passed them down to Gabe for him to arrange as he saw fit.

Gabe nodded his head enthusiastically. "Uh huh!" He was bouncing in place as Toru took his drums out of the cabinet and handed them to him. Once they were all there he flopped down on the kitchen floor and arranged them the way he wanted them. When that was all set he picked up his spoons again and looked up at Toru. "It's for Daddy too, but'cha gotta keep it secret 'til he gets home, okay?" He spoke in a loud whisper with an almost serious face('almost' because you could still see his lips curving up to a smile no matter how hard he tried not to).

Satoru just mirrored his attempt at a serious face before pulling his fingers across his lips as if to zip them shut. "He won't hear a thing from me," he swore. At that, he moved to ease himself to sit across from the makeshift drums and Gabe.

Gabe giggled and nodded. "Good! I'm gonna play it now." At that he started banging the spoons against the different pots and pans around him. Truth be told, the noise was awful and loud, but the little blond looked so happy that it was excusable. His bangs had gotten in his face and he occasionally stopped to push them out of the way, and his tongue was poking out of his mouth at one point like he was trying to concentrate.

Eventually the drumming stopped and looked back up at Toru. "Did'ja like it?" He asked eagerly as more hair fell over his eyes.

Satoru fought hard (and thankfully succeeded) at keeping himself from cringing. With how much Gabe loved doing this, they might have to look into getting the kid drum lessons... When he was a little bigger. Satoru did his best to keep his ears from aching and ruffled Gabe's hair. "I loved it."

And as much ear-ache as it was, he wasn't lying. Though... while actual lessons might have to wait a little while, maybe he could give the little boy a bit of help with rhythm. "Would you like to play a song with me?" He decided to ask.

While Gabe's smile grew as Toru ruffled his hair, the little boy BEAMED when asked if he wanted to play a song with him. "Yeah!!" He exclaimed, nodding his head about as fast as he could. DUH he'd wanna play with Toru he'd love that! "What'cha wanna play?" He asked, trying to keep himself still but still bouncing in his seat with joy.

"Let's make something up," Satoru said, pulling one of the 'drums' a little closer. It was the biggest pot of the set, thankfully not too heavy but still a fairly good size. "Use your hands and follow along, then you make up a part and I'll copy it, sound fair?"

Gabe gave another nod and sat down the spoons he was using earlier. He turned back to Toru and brought his hands up for when he needed them. "Kay, I'm ready." He said with a giggle. This was gonna be fun, it always was with Toru.

"Alright," the gunslinger agreed, beginning to tap out a simple rhythm, just four beats. Tap-ta-tap-tap on the top of the pot. No doubt Gabe would be able to handle that.

Gabe copied Satoru and tapped out the same beat. Tap-ta-tap-tap just as his step dad did. He looked up to see if he'd done that right, just to be sure. "Like that Toru?" He asked, pushing back some of his hair again.

Satoru nodded and smiled. "Perfect, now you try and I'll copy you." It was a good thing that Satoru didn't have much of anything else to do that day, because he was dead certain he was going to spend the rest of the time today playing with Gabe.

Gabe looked back down at the pot at that and tried to come up with something. When something came to mind he brought his little hands back up to try. Tap-tap-ta-tap. It was kinda like Toru's, but still a little different, the blond hoped that was okay.
