School, Gabe was back at school. As much as he hated the place and couldn't wait to graduate(just a few more months, he kept telling himself), he had to admit it felt pretty good to be back. It was normal, he liked normal, it was simple and predictable and with everything that had happened recently it felt great to have that again.
The Kuma had somehow managed to stay pretty well caught up with his classes despite being gone for so long. He hadn't had much of anything else to do while he was out anyway, and some of those sleepless nights had actually turned out to be productive.
Really his only problem was coming up with an excuse for anyone that might be interested just WHY he'd mysteriously vanished. He'd come up with something. Maybe. Probably….
Screw it, it was no one's business anyway.

Unfortunately for Sora's big plan to get Fei and Gabe together, the Kuma seemed to have VANISHED for a pretty huge stretch of time, and no one seemed to know what had happened to him. Until today, that was, because the Kuma had FINALLY shown up at school. Fei probably wasn't going to get spoken to by the blond unless Sora intervened. He'd probably wind up missing class to deal with the older boy, but by god he'd do it for his sister!
He marched down the hall, picking up the pace as he spotted the tall blond. "Hey! Gabe!" He called out.

Gabe blinked as he heard a familiar voice and looked around for the source. It was Sora, oh. It wasn't that he didn't like seeing the kid, Gabe actually liked him, but unfortunately the taller blond couldn't help but think of the Tora's sister when he saw him. They hadn't' exactly left on great terms, and despite the advice Satoru had given him, he still felt a little uneasy about the whole thing.
Well, it wasn't like he could avoid him. "Hey kid, everything alright?" The only reason he could think of Sora wanting to talk to him was something involving Fei, and he couldn't help but feel a little hopeful at that. He shoved that feeling away quickly though, he'd like to avoid getting hurt in any sense of the word, thank you.

"No!" He frowned up at the taller blond and snagged his wrist. "C'mon, we've got some things we gotta talk over, okay?" Because this was important, and Fei needed Gabe and he BET that Gabe needed Fei too. She'd keep him from turning into a droid, and he'd... well, he'd keep her from spiraling like she'd BEEN doing. He might have been an amazing little brother, but there were some things even he couldn't do.

Gabe followed Sora, a worried frown showing on his face as he walked with him. Things to talk over… "Is she okay?" The words were out before he could stop them, sounding more concerned than he would have preferred showing. He couldn't help it though, did something happen to Fei? Was it his fault? Why else would Sora come to him like this?!

Sora looked up to Gabe, weighing his options. He had been fully ready to lay on the guilt for the Kuma, make certain he knew exactly what letting Fei go had done... But he looked so guilty already. "...Not really," he settled on saying, reworking his approach as they made it to an empty stairwell near the library. No one ever looked here, he knew, he'd hid there a dozen times before. "She didn't wanna lose you and she's been beating herself up over it all.. and then you VANISHED, no one heard from you for EVER and it coincided so closely..." He trailed off, deciding to let the blond explain himself.

The two things were going through Gabe's mind then. One being 'Oh shit, Satoru was kinda right' and the other 'Oh shit, now I HAVE to explain'. Really though, how would he explain what had happened? He already felt bad enough, and he had a feeling that explaining what had REALLY went on would sound like a plot from some movie and make him seem like a terrible liar. Granted, he DID still have the cuts on his torso to prove it, along with the bullet wound, but he wasn't showing those unless he absolutely HAD to.
The Kuma ran a hand through his hair and let out a breath. "Some stuff happened, family issues." He decided to say, wasn't like he was lying. "I can't…" He sighed. "I don't want to go into detail about it, it's not important. I just figured Fei wouldn't want to see me as it was, so it was just… I just thought…" And now he couldn't even make a proper sentence, great. Fucking great.

Sora frowned a bit, but it wasn't as bad as it had been. Family stuff was a good enough reason, he supposed... Although it didn't sit quite right (the timing was too close, never ignore a coincidence)... though 'giving her space' made sense in theory, that was really not a good idea with Fei. Space was great when she was in a good mood, freedom was perfect for her, but when she was upset? Space was the last thing she really needed. He'd have to give Gabe a crash-course in Fei-Theory later.
"Well you gotta talk to her, patch things up, cuz she REALLY REALLY LIKES YOU," he emphasized, being as clear as he could. He wasn't willing to risk a screw up this late in the game, after all. There had been far too many already! "She's spent the whole time since you guys... broke up, in her room and she wouldn't talk to anyone and man..." He bounced a little, not sure how to get out the pent-up energy otherwise. "She was being distinctly un-Fei-like and you really had an impact. No one's had an impact like that on her before."

Wow, that… that actually shocked Gabe a little. He had really had that sort of an impact on her? Damn, he really couldn't believe that. She could have done whatever she wanted, have whoever she wanted, and a pain in the ass like HIM was the one that managed to do something like that? that just couldn't be right.
He pulled himself out of his little trance and tried to find words to speak again. "I do wanna talk to her." He assured Sora. "I didn't want her to leave in the first place." He had just figured that was what she wanted, the last thing he wanted was for Fei to get hurt.

"I think she thought it was for the best, I don't think she wanted it." He gave a shrug, frown softening. "She was trying to follow her head when it was a matter of the heart, y'know?" Sora gave a smile then took a breath as he thought for a second.
"You two'll probably need some privacy to talk... so go to the gardens on Saturday at two and go to the fountain. I'm gonna have Fei meet you there so you can both get this all squared away." It was presently Thursday... That was enough forewarning, he thought.

Gabe quickly nodded. "Yeah, okay, I'll be there." If they could get this figured out then he'd definitely make it. He'd been spending most of his time at the range lately, but he could skip one practice for this. He would be nervous as all hell, but this was important.
