Well aside from the circumstances of the injuries and what had transpired during their meeting, yeah, that was pretty accurate. He nodded. "Yeah... Shit I had forgotten about it..." He ran a hand through his hair. "I was about sixteen I think, still can't believe you didn't run off screaming. I probably looked like a heroine addict..." Naoko had guts, he'd give her that.

The blond giggled, which unknowingly to her, sent up a red flag to Keith. It may have been ages since they'd been together but he knew THAT giggle.
"You didn't look that bad," she insisted. "Besides you were hurt, I'd of felt bad if I didn't try to help." And she was glad she had, it had probably been the best day of her life. Well, aside from right after that, she had gotten yelled at for wandering off and messing with the medical supplies, but then she'd been sent to her room and she had found a note that had to of been from him. She had never really known for sure, but it couldn't have been anyone else. "You, uh, you were the one that left the note under my pillow, right?" She'd of felt so ridiculous for holding onto the thing for so long if he hadn't.
Keith looked back at Donato. Neither of them had expected THIS, they weren't quite sure what to do.

Satoru nodded. "You DID get led away before I could say thanks or goodbye," and while he was sure her talking-to wasn't nearly as bad as punishments in the gang were, he knew how bad it felt to take the fall for someone without any sort of thanks. "And you kept them from finding me, so I kind of owed you something, even if it was just a note." Unlike Keith, Satoru didn't understand the significance of the giggle, he took another drink from his beer.
This night was just weird, he decided.

Naoko smiled more at that and took another drink to try and hide the blush that was starting to form on her face. "Well it certainly made my day a hundred times better." She said in a gentle voice. It made so many other days better too, come to think of it, the day Keith broke up with her she'd gone to look at it to cheer her up. That was… really, really weird.
Keith cleared his throat to try reminding them that there were others sitting here too. "So, Naoko, how'd you end up here?" Let's uh, try to get her talking to him or Don and not Toru, huh?
The blond blinked, like she had forgotten they were there. "Oh! It was an accident really, took the wrong train." She rolled her eyes. "Your government sucks, tried convincing them to let me leave but they'd already slapped this on me." She held her wrist up to show the purple band on it. It was frustrating, but at least there was nothing important she was looking for in the other town she was aiming for.

"'M glad," Satoru said before Keith managed to steer the conversation elsewhere. That was right, socializing. That had been the plan. At least now Keith wasn't stuttering around Naoko, so that was a plus. The surprise had probably knocked him back to being sensible.
As for how the blond got to the city, he was surprised more people didn't accidentally wind up here that way... Or maybe they did but were able to evade the officials, who knew? He had come here on purpose... It was a cheap ticket and the city had a less-bloody but similar feel to New Tokyo. It was a good transitory city, or it would have been if he wasn't stuck there for at least three more years...
"They're kinda quick on the draw... I thought they'd ease up with the ceasefire in place."

"You thought wrong." Donato jumped in. "They got me pretty fast too, I really couldn't even tell ya the process it was so quick." He had been kinda tired too, so that had something to do with it. Keith nodded along with him, the Tora had been swept up into the clans pretty quickly himself when he moved into town.
Naoko smiled. She was a little frustrated for being stuck here at first, but now she was actually grateful for the mix up. She'd think of it as a blessing in disguise. "Well it's not so bad, at least it wasn't for nothing." She said, glancing at Satoru again for a second before looking down at the table. Why did he have to be taken? Oh no, was he gay? Maybe he was bi like Keith and Don, that was a possibility right? At least then she'd have a CHANCE if they broke up. Wait, what was she thinking? That was wrong, she shouldn't be thinking that, she should be happy for him! Ooohh, get yourself TOGETHER girl!

Satoru fidgeted a bit, this was... really really weird. And awkward to boot. Naoko's glances towards him were... well, they were strange. How she kept glancing up then away. It was almost annoying, actually... Had she been like that when they first met? He wasn't sure... He remembered it well enough but he didn't remember too many of the finer details.
"Does make me wonder if I'm one of the only people who came here by choice..." Mostly choice. MOSTLY a choice. It was the safest choice should any of his gang have survived...

"Well I kinda did." Keith said, moving his arm to put around Satoru's shoulders. Casual, but hopefully it would get Naoko to get back some. "Didn't really know about the war, but I needed a place to open the shop up and this seemed as good as any." So the whole staying in town until you were 35 never really bothered him, he'd of been staying anyway.
Don nodded a bit as he took another drink. "Me too, I knew what I was getting into and everything."
The inked man looked over at the Italian. "You only came here 'cause I was here."
"Still my choice though." He said with a grin.
While the two went back and forth Naoko was starting to be more aware about how she was acting. Really it was Keith's little action that tipped her off, that and now that she noticed it Satoru was starting to look a little uncomfortable. That wasn't good, she didn't MEAN to, honest. It was just, after so long of thinking she'd never see him again there he was, right across from her almost out of nowhere. She felt bad, maybe she should just stay quiet and let the guys talk.

Satoru leaned into Keith unconsciously as the bigger Tora wrapped an arm around his shoulders. He liked touching Keith, Keith was a safe person and also liked touch. Touch from Keith was always good. He took another drink as he listened to the pair of friends bicker. "Naoko, you got anywhere to work yet?" Truth be told, he didn't have any openings, but depending on her skill set he could help find her something.
There were still people who owed him some favors, after all.

Well wasn't watching this just a stab to the heart? Still, the blond turned back to Satoru and shook her head. "No, not yet." She said quickly. She had only been in town about a week and had just settled in at the dorms. It was… nice, but she couldn't wait to save up money to get her own place, she needed her space.

"Anything you can do?" He asked, fully intending to call in contacts if he could. It was one of Keith's old friends, after all, and he himself had known her when she was little... He wasn't sure he'd be able to avoid it if he had any chance of helping. Besides, Don and Keith seemed to be embroiled in bickering over... something, he hadn't paid attention.

Naoko shrugged and gave a timid smile. "I mean I can organize and clean like you couldn't believe, but I don't really think there's much dignified work there..." Those had just been habits drilled into her from her upbringing. When she had really been in a pinch for money she had tried waitressing, and she wouldn't have minded it too much if it weren't for the harassment.
Just that he was asking her though, it sounded like he would try to get her a job somewhere. As she came to the small realization she waved her hand a little, as if the dismiss the idea. "Don't worry about it though, I'm sure I'll find something."

Satoru simply gave a nod and took another drink, already running through a list of potential contacts that could use a maid or a janitor or something. Naoko would likely be fine on her own, but... Well, he knew her, so he'd rather be safe than sorry. "Let me know if you need help," he said, just to make sure she knew.

Naoko blushed a little and nodded. "Right, thank you very much." She said before taking another drink. That was really, really nice of him, but she was a big girl. She'd just have to try and see if anyone was hiring anywhere, shouldn't be too hard. Maybe one of the department stores in the mall she'd gone passed the other day? She did like clothes…
Donato rolled his eyes and leaned back in his seat as his bickering with Keith came to a close. "You're a dick." He said, trying to hold back his grin.
The inked man smirked in reply. "Thanks for noticing."
The Ookami sighed in defeat and looked around at the table. He turned to Naoko. "What'd we ever see in this guy?" He said with a laugh before turning to look at Satoru. "Seriously man, what do you see in him?" No harm in a little teasing, he thought.

Satoru grinned a gave a shrug. "Dunno, tell you when I figure it out." It was just... a pull, something about Keith just sorta... clicked with him. And he didn't quite have the words to describe it. He didn't have to guess with the bigger Tora, didn't have to be wary or watch his back. It was... nice. Refreshing. Soothing, even. Safe. He'd used it to describe Keith to himself a thousand times by now but it was true. Keith was safe. Satoru could use a little more 'safe' in his life.
