Mina was anxious. Foot-tapping, finger-drumming, hair-chewing ANXIOUS. The fiery black-haired woman didn't get anxious. Not under usual circumstances, and especially not when she was at the range. The place she was most in her element... But right now? Something was wrong.
Satoru was missing.
The short-stature short-tempered range owner hadn't shown up for work today. That happened from time to time, but he always called ahead. Always. And now? Now he hadn't. He was missing and there was no call. That just didn't happen. Mina had even given it an extra hour (because hey, maybe he had gotten sick from the little-kid germs his boyfriend's son had and overslept) but there was still nothing.
By that point even Egil was getting antsy.
Mina snagged the phone and started to dial. If Satoru hadn't called them, they'd just call him-
Except he didn't pick up, the phone didn't even ring just straight to voicemail. And Satoru always picked up.
Now they were nervous.
"Check with Keith?" Mina asked Egil, who was half-looming over her as he awaited the answer. The Swede nodded.
She dialed.

Eva was trying to focus on work, really she was, but knowing that Satoru hadn't shown up without a reason was starting to get to her too. The fact that Mina and Egil looked like they were just as(if not more) concerned only made it worse.
The blonde woman walked over and tapped Egil. "Anything yet?" she asked.
--
Keith was getting Gabriel and himself ready to head out for the day. One of the perks of his job were having hours that meant that he could sleep in. That said, it was common for when Satoru stayed over that the gunslinger would leave for work before the inked man even bothered to get up.
The brunette heard his phone go off and sat Gabe back down in his crib long enough for him to grab it. That was weird, it was Mina. Worry started to bubble up in the Tora's gut as he answered. "Yeah?" He answered, trying his very hardest not to show much panic in his voice. Maybe he was just paranoid.

Egil frowned and shook his head. "Wait'n 'n Keith, 'Toru did'n pickup." He replied quietly so he didn't disturb Mina.
The engineer herself relaxed only a hair when Keith picked up. So it wasn't that Toru had gone postal and killed Keith and Gabe, that was one option ticked off the ever growing list of gruesome possibilities. "Hey, Keith? You wouldn't happen to know where 'Toru is, wouldja?" She asked, trying to keep the worry out of her own voice while picking up on Keith's own. She'd spoken to him on occasion, mostly to let him know if they needed to steal Toru for a night or to let him know when Egil was able to babysit if necessary (the Swede was petrified of phones).
So his voice being a little off? That was noted immediately. She tapped a pencil against the surface of the desk. "He's late, he hasn't called, and he won't pick up his phone... Did something happen?"

Keith nearly felt his heart drop. "I-I mean we had a fight last night…" He had found out about the deals Satoru had with some of the town's criminals, and one thing had lead to another and they were yelling at each other, and Gabe started crying and things got even MORE out of hand.
The inked man pulled at his hair. "I didn't think it would- I mean I-" He didn't know what to say, and if Satoru was missing or hurt then it HAD to be his fault somehow. There wasn't much hiding his panic at this point and he gave a strained breath. "I'm gonna drop Gabe off at work real quick, I'll be over right after." He shut his phone at that and picked up his son before heading out.
As much as he wanted to run and get there as fast as he could, he knew that between his body shaking and holding Gabriel that that was just a terrible idea. He moved as fast as he could though, after Gabe was with Frankie and Persephone and was getting to the bottom of this.

Mina hung up and frowned. "This... is an issue." She said before turning to Eva and Egil. "Keith doesn't know where he is either."
Egil swore, something harsh and Swedish that Mina had only ever heard said in dire circumstances. This counted as a dire circumstance. Satoru was missing, and Egil, while well aware of his boss's crippling inability to suss out issues with his personality before they became a problem, had a feeling this wasn't going to be Satoru sulking like a teenager.
Because while he avoided some of his problems like the plague, he didn't sulk.
So something had happened.
"He's coming here," Mina started, pulling out a folder. "We should probably cancel appointments for today, reschedule them for another time." As much as she would love to just forget about the range, it was Satoru's business, and they couldn't let it run into the ground with a sudden closure. Luckily it was a slow week. And it would give them all something to focus on while Keith was making his way over.

Eva ran a hand through her hair and cursed under her breath. This wasn't good, this was not good at all. She nodded in agreement with Mina though, get the schedule figured out and out of the way, then once Keith got there they were kicking some ass. Because if something DID in fact happen to their boss…
Well these were just the wrong four people to piss off.
--
Now that there wasn't a small child in his arms to worry about, Keith had no problem running to the shooting range. He had stayed at the tattoo shop long enough to drop Gabriel off and tell Frankie to reschedule his own appointments for the weekend, after that he was out.
When the inked Tora arrived at the range he was out of breath, but it didn't matter. He found the three employees he was looking for and caught his breath. "Alright… So what's... the plan?" he huffed out between breaths. He'd be fine in a second, or less if it came to that. Anything to find where 'Toru was at.

The three had been pretty effective, in Egil's opinion, in shutting down the range like they had. Presently they had the place to themselves and the phones on silent. It was mission time. Egil watched as Mina looked up from the computer as Keith came in and flicked her hand to Egil.
Which meant she wasn't done with the police scanner or arrest records yet, so he and Eva needed to calm Keith down and get him to tell them what happened. That first part he could do fine, Eva could handle the interrogation.
"Work'n on'un." He said, guiding the tatted Tora to a chair. "Need t'know a few thin's." What had happened was important. What was the fight about? Had anything happened? Had he stormed out of the apartment or not? If he had, had he seen which way Satoru had gone?
Egil was confident Eva knew what to ask though, so he'd leave that to her. "Sit, drink." He instructed, pushing a cup of water and a small Wienerbröd into his hand. It was in the morning, and the danish would do him some good. No one did anything well on an empty stomach.

While Keith didn't want to sit down, his legs decided against him and collapsed right in time for him to land into the chair. He took the food and water, staring at it for a second. He didn't have TIME for this, they should be out looking already!
Eva, who had a pretty good idea of what was going through her tattoo artist's head, spoke up. "Mina's working on it, so while that's going on eat, you'll feel better." Physically at least. This wasn't the first time Eva had a close friend of hers go missing(the first one had been a kidnapping, but still missing) and she knew getting too worked up wouldn't help in the search at all.
After a few moments, Keith gave in and ate about half of the pastry before downing the water. "There, now what do you need to know?" He'd answer anything.
He explained everything he could about the fight. How he didn't want Satoru to keep any sort of business with criminals, it just wasn't safe for him and he didn't like it. Then they'd started yelling and it woke Gabriel up and freaked him out, and that only made Keith get even MORE pissed and they yelled some more.
"He stormed out after that. I didn't even bother seeing where he went, I was too focused on trying to calm Gabe down." Keith shook his head and pulled at his hair some more. "Shouldn't of let him leave…" If this was all his fault he didn't know what he was gonna do.
Eva turned back to Egil. So now they knew what Keith knew, where to go from there?

Mina kept an ear tuned towards the story while she rooted through reports. No arrests of anyone matching Satoru's description, so it wasn't the police... noise complaints in several parts of the residential sector (a few were apartments with parties, judging from location)... a reported mugging or two...
She printed out a list of the most likely reports, as well as starting to come up with a plan to sweep the areas between the range and Satoru's house as well as Keith's apartment and Satoru's house. Honestly the two just needed to move in together. It would help keep an eye on her boss...
"Okay, the police don't have him, so we're probably looking at gang activity." She said, spreading out the lists on the table by Keith. They used it to clean their guns so it was nice and spacious. "We've had some reports that match the approximate time he could have hobbled through town..."
Egil pulled out a map of the city, sticking tacks in three spots. Keith's apartment, Satoru's house, and the range. "He'd'a b'n som'wh'r near these spots..." He said, tracing streets with a finger. "Rep'rts th' match?"
Mina flicked through her lists, snagging a marker as she X'd through a few. In the end, there were three that needed to be checked out. All had been noise complaints about what sounded like gunshots.
Yeah, that sounded like Satoru. "We'll check these first... if that doesn't work, then we'll go over the paths with a fine-toothed comb." And if that didn't work? Well... Mina might wind up striding right into the hideouts of the most notorious gangs in the city and show them how a gunslinger got things done when they were pissed.

Eva and Keith both looked along over the table with Mina and Egil. The ex-gangster herself was the one to speak next. "Alright, so we split up then." There were three spots and four of them, so who would go with who? Egil would be fine on his own, even with the off chance of someone other than Satoru still being there. Keith though? No, she knew that look on his face. It was oh so similar to Jack's own when Hotaru had been taken, and she remembered how terribly her brother-in-law had handled that mess.
The blonde woman leaned over to Mina. "Hey, get Keith to go with you, yeah?" She spoke quietly so the inked Tora himself wouldn't hear, because she had a feeling he would much prefer going on his own. Eva liked to think she kew a thing or two about people's personalities and the vibes they gave off, she had a feeling that he'd be better off going with the dark haired girl.

Mina nodded, she and Eva were on the same page. Keith's whole body was screaming 'emotionally compromised,' and as much as she'd prefer to leave the big Tora here there was no way he wouldn't sneak along anyway. Better to have him supervised. "Okay, Egil, you take the one closest to here. Eva? You take the spot near his house." She glanced to Keith. "And you're with me. We're gonna check out spot number three." Which was honestly looking the one she thought most suspicious out of the three... Call it a gut feeling. And Satoru had taught her to trust her gut. 'Your gut picks up on things your head doesn't even notice.' He had said.
Hopefully he'd stick around long enough to dispense more of that wisdom. "Everyone grab a gun, dunno what we'll find..." If they were lucky they wouldn't find a body, and it was unlikely anyone would still be sticking around... But you never knew.

Keith looked up. He couldn't- he couldn't go on his own? He almost said something, but noticed a look that Eva was giving him that seemed to say 'we don't have time for this'. The tatted man sighed and nodded. "Yeah, alright." He muttered. They really didn't have time to spare, the sooner they got out there was the sooner they'd find Satoru.
Eva and Keith both took a gun as instructed. Eva could be pretty handy with one herself thanks to the experience in her teenage years, and Keith knew well enough how to aim, shoot, and handle the thing. The blonde Tora looked around for a second. "Alright, I'm out then, anything else I should know?"

Mina had her guns on her most times of the day, no need to grab one. "Just that you call Egil and me if you find anything. Worst case scenario is we find a body, but I doubt that'll happen." Mostly because this was Satoru they were talking about. The grumpy stubborn bastard just COULDN'T die... She hoped. More likely, the gangs wouldn't let him die because they needed weapons, and he had the best shot of giving things to them...
"He's probably still alive, we just need to figure out who took him. If you find blood or anything of his, we'll have an idea of who's turf he disappeared in, and who to start knocking heads of." With the timing of the fight... Satoru wouldn't have had time to pull out AND get pinched. So it was a gang he was likely not friendly with. Not supplying to...
The list of suspects grew.
Egil nodded and headed out, he knew the plan. Mina turned to Keith and flicked her hand. "C'mon, lead the way to your place. We've got some ground to cover."

Eva nodded and went on her way. Keith looked back at Mina and gave a nod and started out of the range. He couldn't find it in him to say much, because whatever he could say right then didn't seem to matter any. He just wanted to find Satoru ALIVE and make sure he would be okay and apologize for the fight and-
He shook his head as he walked. He'd figure that all out AFTER they found his boyfriend. He was alive, he HAD to be.
