Daemon pulled over his keyboard bench and sat beside Emma. He smiled gently at her and shrugged. "It's fine now, and besides, most of the time it went away." he said as he sat the stuff down and took her hand. He carefully pulled her sleeve up and then opened the salve. "This is going to be cold." he warned as he got a bit of it on his fingers and lightly rubbed it on the burn. After he put enough on it and rubbed it in slightly, he pulled out the bandages and started to wrap it up. "Quick and easy." he said, smiling up at her as he finished up.

Emma let out a breath she didn't realize she was holding once he finished with wrapping her arm. She blushed lightly when he smiled at her, smiling a little in return. "Thanks." Was about all she could think to say.
She hesitated to say what was on her mind, but she was also very curious. "So... were they accidents, or was it him...?" she asked carefully, referring to the burns.

Daemon didn't mind talking about anything with Emma so this didn't bother him. "They were accidents for the most part. There were a few times when it wasn't, but that was only in the beginning. And a few times Artemis got a little fire happy." he replied, shrugging slightly as he finished wrapping up the bandages and closing up the salve.

Emma blinked. "So some WERE on purpose?" She asked, somewhat shocked. What kind of twisted family WAS this? Unfortunately she could figure that out on her own, between Artemis and Mr. Speirs, she still had trouble wrapping her mind around the fact that Daemon had turned out so sweet.

Daemon sighed. "My dad trained Artemis and I in a lot of different things. One of the very first things we had to go through was fire stuff. We had to build up a pain tolerance to fire. He made us do different sorts of things with the fire, and not all of it was bad. So, yea, only in the beginning, just until we built up our tolerance. And he wouldn't leave the flame on us long enough to scar, so I didn't get many scars from the fire." He did get one or two though, accidents mainly.

Emma's jaw nearly dropped as he explained. That was horrible, why would anyone do that to their own child? She pulled her sleeve down over the bandage but still kept her eyes on Daemon. "Trained... for what exactly?" She had a feeling that she knew, but she didn't want to jump to any conclusions.

Daemon looked down at his hands. "To do what he does." he admitted, ashamed of himself for going along with it as long as he did. He shook it off and looked up, giving Emma a slight smile. "Hey, at least if something bad ever happens while I'm around we should be covered. I can do a lot of very useful things thanks to that training, if worse should ever come to worse."

Emma smiled sadly. "Yeah, I guess you're right." She took one of Daemon's hands in hers. "I'm really glad you're on our side Daemon." Her voice was soft and sincere, as were her eyes. She couldn't picture him being like his father, it was hard to even imagine them being related. He was a nice guy, she was glad to have him around.

Daemon smiled softly and squeezed her hand a little. "I wouldn't want to be anywhere else." He admitted quietly.
A thought came to his mind after a moment. "Oh, when you go back to school, you're probably going to see Artemis. If you don't accidentally run into her, she'll likely seek you out. I know my dad will have told her what he did," To gloat, he thought. "So she's going to want to rub it in. What you need to do is stay quiet, ignore her like the pest she is and don't let anything she says get to you, no matter how hard it gets. She hates being ignored so it'll make her mad, but she won't hurt you." At least, he was pretty sure she wouldn't hurt her.

Emma nodded at that. "I'll keep that in mind, thanks for the tip." She'd certainly need it, there was no way she'd be able to get away from her at school. She let out a short laugh. "Though now I'm pretty sure I'm gonna be guarded like crazy, so I think I'll be fine." Tyler and Anya for sure weren't letting her out of their sights(it had been a challenge just to meet with Daemon without one of them tagging along). Roman would quickly pick up that something wasn't right, but knowing him he wouldn't outright say anything. No, he'd more likely just watch out for her from afar.

Daemon chuckled lightly. "That's very true. I'll be sure to keep and eye on you as well, just in case." he said, his smile quirking up. Even though they didn't have any of the same classes, he still made time to see Emma sometime in the day, so he too would look out for her-- not that he wasn't already planning to.
With effort he forced himself to sit back and release her hand. "Now, what do you say we get started on this math homework of yours?" As much as he wanted to continue talking about other more important things, he wanted to make sure she got her homework done so she could keep her grade up.

Emma's smile grew a little at the first comment. She was about to reply to it before he moved his hand away and brought up her homework. Her eyes widened slightly, how did she end up forgetting the main reason they were hanging out today?
"Oh yeah!" she laughed, turning around to grab her textbook and bringing it in her's and Daemon's view. She was enjoying their conversations, but she really DID need help with Math and she wasn't going to let the offer slip away.
