Archer smiled at Hotaru's reaction. "Why should I? She tried to hit me first, I'm only teaching her some proper manners, as a parent you should know that's very important." He relaxed some of the pressure on Emma's wrist as he spoke and when he finished he squeezed again. "So what'll it be Hotaru? How should your daughter be punished?"

Hotaru couldn't believe what was happening. All these years she was trying so hard to keep Tyler and Emma safe, to give them a childhood that she never had and a life that they deserved. Now look at her, the most horrifying man in the world had her daughter and she was helpless to stop it.
"P-Please," She begged, taking a few steps closer to them. "Let her go." Nothing had changed after all these years, Archer still knew how to torture her, and she was still too weak to stop it.
Emma flinched again as he squeezed her wrist tighter. She was so scared, but she could tell it was nothing compared to how her mom was feeling right then. She gave a weak smiled. "It's fine mom, if he's willing to hurt a defenseless girl than he's just as low as dirt. Just means we're better than him is all."

Archer laughed. "So brave, I wonder where she got THAT from... I'm going to punish you for doing wrong, that's not the same as simply hurting. And keep your high and mighty horse all you want, in the end that doesn't save you." He continued to tighten and loosen his hold on her wrist. Letting it have that break from the strain helped make it worse the next few times he squeezed.
"I think I'll settle for this," he said nodding to her wrist where he was sure bruising was starting to settle in. "It's less than what she deserves, but I'm in a good mood today, so I'll be nice." Well, nicer.

Emma struggled to pull away from Archer as he kept squeezing her wrist tighter and tighter. There was no doubt that her wrist was bruised now, the pain was enough proof. She used her free hand to tug at her arm to pull away, but he was still too strong.
Hotaru couldn't just stand back while he hurt her daughter like this, WHY was she just standing there?! She was a failure at being a mother that couldn't even protect her own children. She was a worthless worthless WORTHLESS PIECE OF SHIT.
The redhead clenched her fists and yelled again. "PLEASE!! I'll do anything! Just let her go!!" Couldn't he see how desperate she was?! She knew him, he had to be enjoying seeing her like this!!

Archer's smile spread. "Anything? My, you are desperate aren't you." He pulled Emma in closer and continued to squeeze her wrist. "She is a pretty little girl, I'll give you that." He said as he looked at Emma.
"I just don't think she's learned quite enough yet..." At that he pulled up his lighter and held it in front of Emma's face. "Are you as scared of fire as your mother?" He asked as he flicked it open and moved it close to Emma's arm that he held. "Just stay still." he warned as he let the fire lick at her arm beneath his hand, the fire didn't phase him. He moved the lighter slowly, tracing the letter A with the flame.
When there was a nice reddish brown letter A on her arm he snapped the lighter closed. Within a split second he let Emma go and pushed her towards her mother. "I might take you up on that anything later, but for now you can have her back, I think she's learned. If not... well, I can find her later." He threatened, shrugging offhandedly. He didn't really want anything from Hotaru, he just enjoyed seeing her weak and begging like this. That was enough for him.

Emma was nearly sobbing by the time she was pushed back and Hotaru quickly went to wrap her arms around her. She held her daughter tight and glared murderously at Archer. She wanted to claw his face off, rip his throat out, KILL HIM, and she ALMOST tried if it weren't for her daughter's tears bringing her back to reality and forcing her to stay put. "Leave." She growled. Despite all the fear that the redhead was overwhelmed with, there was a disticnt about of pure hatred and rage that came through the one word.
Emma was so scared, and her arm hurt so bad. She was crying and nothing was making sense to her and she just wanted to go home and pretend this never happened. She hugged her mother tight with her uninjured arm while the other one was held to her chest. He BURNT HER. She knew this guy was evil, but she didn't expect him to do THAT.

Archer grinned and bowed to the two. He was already planning on leaving anyways, he had work to do. "It's been a pleasure ladies. It's too bad I have work to do or else, well, you can guess." He stood back up straight. "Good luck with the baby. Oh, and tell Jack I said hello." He said with a wink as he started off towards town. He gave a jaunty little wave and laughed as he left.

Hotaru waited until Archer was out of hearing distance before saying anything. "I am so sorry Emma." She voice cracked as she spoke. She hated herself more than she hated Archer at that moment. She didn't deserve to be a mother, and yet she was expecting another one?
All Emma could do was shake her head. She wanted to assure her mom, let her know it wasn't her fault and that she didn't blame her, but she couldn't get the words to come out. "I-I w-want Daddy..." She mumbled through the sobs.
The redhead pressed a kiss to the top of her head. "Let's go home then, everything's gonna be alright." She wasn't looking forward to explaining this to Jack, because she KNEW he was going to be furious. They would take care of that when they got home though, first they just needed to focus on walking.
