Artemis shivered as he stepped through the door to the hospital he'd spent months in. The smell of sanitation filled and burned his nose and forced a cough. This was his first check up to which he'd brought his new leg and he was nervous about showing it to his doctor. The receptionist gave the Art a forced smile and told him, "the doctor will be with you as soon as possible," in an overly cheery voice. The grey headed young man simply nodded and turned for the all too familiar hallways, his mind immediately turning to his old friend and inspiration.
In a few short minutes he'd passed by the ER and ICU as he made his way to rehab. The room was just as he remembered; clean, quiet, and nauseating... Despite wanting to see his friend Artemis couldn't take the feeling and retreated back into the hall breathing heavily in attempt to clear his head.

Note to self: Never again take Anya to the doctor again unless it was an emergency. For only being a year and a half, the kid had given the nurses WAY too much trouble during her check up. Granted, this WAS the child of an ex gangster and a hulking giant, so it wasn't much of a shock to the blonde, but still! Next time she needed to go to the doctor again Aiden was taking her.
For now though, Anya was stumbling her way down the hall with Eva right beside her. The little girl liked to try and run off but Eva made sure to keep a good pace with her to keep that from happening. She had tried holding her hand or picking her up, but Anya was INSISTING on walking by herself.
Eva looked at her daughter with a grin as she tried to make a break for it again, thankfully the managed to chase after her and scoop her up in her arms before she could run into a figure near by. "No ya don't!" she exclaimed as she held the now giggling girl. She glanced over to see who Anya had nearly ran into, he didn't look so good. Then again, this was a hospital, but she might as well say something to him.
"Sorry about her, she can be a handful." she said just as Anya tried smacking her cheek, which was quickly avoided.

Art looked up, startled from his own thoughts by the voice suddenly so close to him, "wha-?" the words finally registered in his mind and clicked in with the blonde and toddler in front of him. "Oh, no.. don't worry, I honestly didn't notice."
Grey hair hanging in his face, the young man straightened up his posture and gave a weak smile, "to be honest, I'm probably in the way here."
The woman looked tired. Obvious reason was the child in her arms, but Artemis couldn't help but see past the motherly exterior. She seemed to be time worn despite her probably not being too much older than himself, she was hardened by past experience and he could feel his respect for her growing. He also felt weak in comparison and sub-consciously shifted his weight off his false leg, which gave a click as a gear turned a notch with the adjustment .

Eva heard the click as the guy shifted a little, raising an eyebrow slightly. She dismissed the thought though as Anya tried pushing away from her to get back down. With a sigh, the blonde sat Anya back on her feet, but this time she held her hand to keep her from wondering off. "Nah, you're good, we're about done here actually. Name's Eva, and this ball of trouble's Anya." she grinned as she spoke, glancing down at Anya as she still tried pulling her hand out of her mother's grasp. She looked back at the guy. "And you are?"

"Artemis" he said with a more heartfelt smile this time as he watched the young girl struggle for freedom from her mother. He couldn't help but chuckle at the innocence, "she seems a bit antsy. I can understand if she is, this place makes me nauseous."
two more clicks as he shifted weight again, Art made note and was happy to see his leg working well but pushed that to the back of his mind, "anyway, what were you here for? Neither of you seem as if you'd need to be anywhere near the rehab wing...." he stopped talking, and shook his head, "sorry i shouldn't make assumptions like that...."

Eva looked around the hall at his comment. "Nah, you're good." she told him, still holding Anya's hand. "So that's what this part is, haven't really been payin' attention really. I was just following her around and he ended up here." she shrugged, no big deal. "Thanks for clearin' that up at least."
She looked back at Artemis. "So if that's what you're here for I'm guessin', why haven't you gone inside yet?" She was curious, which was a little weird since the blond didn't really think much to talk to complete strangers all that much. She figured the longer Anya was here and getting hyped up, the more she would end up sleeping once they got home, so might as well kill some time and talk to someone eh?

He looked up and down the hall way in a sort of lost kind of way. "I was stuck in this place for about half a year. For most people it's not that bad, but i guess the pain is different when you blow your leg off." Scratching his head Artemis hoped he didn't just freak her out.
His leg clicked again and gave a small whine as a gear caught and stopped turning. It was as if the darned thing knew he was talking about it.
Wearily Art took a half step back and shifted the gear back in place. Looking up he gave a small smile and asked, "you wouldn't happen to know where i could get some O-rings would you? I can't seem to find them anywhere..."

To most people the comment about what had happened to his leg would freak them out at least a little, but Eva had seen far too much for it to really surprise her. "That really sucks." was about all she could think of the reply with. She never really was good with the whole feelings thing, so she didn't really know what else to say.
She blinked and looked at him confused by his question. "Er, no, sorry. Don't even know what you're talkin' 'bout to be honest with ya."

Artemis nodded and stood up. "that's too bad i guess... oh well....," He stood and smiled as he offered his hand, "it was a pleasure meeting you but i think the doctor should be looking for me about now."

Eva shook his hand with her free one. "Yeah, nice to meet'cha too." she replied with a quick nod and small grin. She looked down at Anya who had eventually given in to holding her mother's hand. "Hey, say bye."
Anya looked up at Artemis, waving a tiny hand at him and muttering a short "Bye." before clinging to her mom.

Art couldn't help but smile before he waved good bye and turned down the hall toward my appointment, "you guys be safe now"
