Roman normally didn't visit his family much these days. It wasn't that he didn't LIKE being around them, he just lacked the motivation. Besides, he still went to see his mom from time to time, and he ocassionally ran into his grandfather and Uncle Jack at school, so it never really bothered him that much.
Until he realized he hadn't really seen this OTHER uncle in quite some time. Anya had gotten onto him about it the other day, and it made him feel pretty damn guilty. After all, Aiden had pretty much treated him like his own son when it wasn't his responsibility. That said, the blonde felt it was time to drop in.
He arrived to the small house, not bothering to knock on the door as he grabbed the doorknob and stuck his head inside. "Uncle Aiden?" He called as he stepped in. He knew he was coming, he SHOULD be here.

The hulking Ookami wasn't quite as young as he used to be (hell, he was out of the clans now, that was saying something), but he wasn't so old to forget his family. And honestly, he had missed Roman's visits from when the young man was still a child and calling him (however accidentally) "daddy" along with Anya. As wrong as it had felt to steal the title from Matsu, it had felt good to give him someone to rely on...
Ergo, Aiden's response to Roman was immediate. "Where ya BEEN, kid?" He grinned at the head of blond hair sticking in from the front door.

Roman entered the house, shutting the door behind him. He gave a short laugh and scratched the back of his head a little. "Er, been distracted. School shit." Okay, so that wasn't completely true, Roman had lost interest in school around the time he got in the eight grade, he just thought it was a nicer excuse than saying he flat out forgot.
The blonde put his hands in his pockets as he looked around the place, nothing had really changed since his last visit. "So how've you and Aunt Eva been?" He noticed she wasn't there at the moment, but it wasn't really his business to ask where she was, probably wasn't important anyway.

Aiden strode forward and ruffled Roman's hair. "Riiight. The school shit you never bother to work on, sure." He knew Roman had forgotten. Was he hurt? A little, but he was growing up. Kids needed space. Hell, Anya needed space even though he didn't want to give it to her... he could TRY and accept it, at least.
"And same as always, we bitch at each other and somehow keep the place from burning down." Aiden had apparently been an alright chef before the accident when he was a teenager (according to Jack, at least), but that had been disproved time and time again. At least the smoke alarm was broken, they didn't get nearly as many calls from the fire department these days.

Roman pushed the hand off his hair with a grin. He wasn't a little kid anymore, hell he was the same height as Anya now and THAT was something. Though he supposed he'd never be as tall as his giant of an uncle, no one was. Of course, that didn't mean that the hair ruffling couldn't feel good, just meant that he wouldn't admit it.
"Sounds like the perfect marriage." The blonde said with a chuckle. He made himself at home, taking off his jacket and sitting on the couch with a sigh. "No wonder Anya's the way she is." Picking on each other was practicaly required for being on this side of the family, even if they weren't really blood. "Ever wonder what went wrong with her?" He grinned.

Aiden scoffed as he sat across from Roman. "Nothing went wrong with her, she's just too much for the world to handle. Makes sense considering her folks." Too much of WHAT was the real question. Personality, potentially, though Perri had a near-monopoly on that when Anya was excluded from the equation.
"What 'bout Perri?" The King knew how Keisko was, busy as ever with both work and trying to keep her kids on the straight and narrow. "How's she doing?"

Roman's grin dropped at the mention of his twin, thinking back to what had happened at the school cafeteria not too long ago. He had a feeling Anya hadn't mentioned anything about THAT run in with Artemis, so he decided to leave that part out. "We don't talk much." He said, averting his eyes from his uncle for the moment. "She's got some girlfriend, that's all I know. If you want more details Anya's the one to ask."
The change in his mood was obvious, arms folded across his chest and a scowl on his face. Perri had been getting on his last nerve lately, even IF this Karina girl was apparently having a good effect on her. She just... well, they'd clearly gone their separate ways.

Aiden blinked. "Girlfriend, huh?" Truth be told he hadn't been expecting that one. But whatever worked for the teen worked, he supposed. He was glad she had found someone, at least, hopefully they'd be good enough to her to help the kid out... She needed it.
"Ya don't seem to pleased with it... Or is it somethin' else?" Aiden asked, starting to pry information out of Roman. The kid needed to vent.

Roman shrugged. "Nah, she's nice. Like, princess nice, it's weird." It still confused him how the whitette and his sister got along in the first place(let along actually DATE). He looked back at Aiden, relaxing a bit but still a little tense. Looks like it was time to avoid the subject.
"We just... don't see eye to eye is all." Most siblings were like that to a point, except Tyler and Emma, those two got along so well it was ridiculous sometimes. "It's typical though, right? I mean, didn't you and Uncle Jack have times when you didn't get along when you were younger?"

Aiden gave a nod. "Well yeah, we had a few disagreements... I didn't want him dating your Aunt Hotaru, he decided otherwise." He shrugged, freeing himself from telling the whole story with that one noncommittal action. "But you learn to meet in the middle, give some ground..."
Well... EVENTUALLY he had learned that.
"Just gotta remember she's your sister. You're gonna be suck with each other as siblings forever, one way or another. Even if you don't like her all the time, you're still family. You look out for one another."

Roman gave a sarcastic laugh at that. "Yeah sure, 'cause she CLEARLY cares about that stuff." Aside from Anya, Perri would rarely associate herself with the family these days, at least when HE didn't visit it was an accident. Maybe Perri was changing with Karina being around, but to him that didn't make up for everything she'd done in the past, especially what Artemis had told them. His blood boiled at just the thought that his sister would DO THAT. He shook his head to get rid of the thought, it wasn't something he needed right then while visiting family.

"Doesn't matter if she shows it or not, you two are family and that has no fucking requirements." Aiden frowned. "She's your blood, you stick up for her and have her back... and she'll come around." There was something else... something SPECIFIC, he knew... Roman had that LOOK about him where he wasn't likely to talk, though...

The blonde rose a brow at his uncle. "And I suppose if I don't agree then you're gonna throw some long ass speach over 'what my father would do' at me?" His mom had certainly done that to Perri and himself LOADS of times as it was, he didn't need anyone else shoving it down his throat. Yes, he would do ANYTHING for just one chance to see the father he never knew, but he was dead and there was nothing that could be done about it. If everyone was expecting him to be more like his dad then they must be terribly disappointed.

"Fuck no, I suck at speeches." Came the ex-ookami's reply as he leaned back into his chair. "Besides, that's more yer mom's schtick than mine... I'm just saying from personal experience... Even if ya don't get along now, you will soon. Try not to burn that bridge."
He gave a shrug. "Besides. It's not like she's murdered anyone. Whatever you're mad at her for can't be that bad."

Roman sighed, giving in for the moment. "Sure." He didn't feel like going into the topic any deeper, he'd rather NOT ruin the living room in a raging fit if he could help it. Besides, he could tell Aiden knew something was up, and he didn't wanna start dropping more clues over the matter and risk him, or any of the adults, figuring out. Well, not yet at least. He knew it was wrong, but for some reason blackmail sounded so tempting. He might need it at some point.
"Anyway, so what'cha got to drink around here?" He asked as he stood up to make his way to the fridge in the kitchen. It was both an attempt to change the subject and to see if Aiden would let him have a beer. Alcohol wasn't allowed in the dorms since the inhabitants were minors, and even though some kids manged to sneak some in he just never felt that it was worth the risk.
