Hajime thought for a moment. How could he put it? Sewing had always seemed... practical. There were a lot of instances were it came in handy, just like now. "It just seemed like something I should know how to do."

Emma nodded, messing with her braid a little. "Makes sense I guess. It's certainly useful, that's for sure." It was just something she's never though about, much less expected someone else to. She laughed a little as she played with her hair still. "I never really thought about sewing, my interests were always a little more different." Piano and dance took so much time as it was.

Hajime shrugged. "To each their own, I guess." He leaned up against he lockers, looping the final few stitches. "So what are your interests anyway?" He flushed a bit, thinking the question sounded awkward. "Not that you have to tell me or anything..."

Emma blinked a little and giggled again, it was adorable how he was acting. "You're fine," she insisted before actually answering his question. "And I kinda picked up on both of my parents' talents I guess. My mom's a choregrapher and dance instructor, so she's been teaching me since I was little. Then after a while I asked my dad to teach me piano, he's actually the music teacher here..." She laughed awkwardly and scratched her cheek, it was still weird getting use to her father working at the school, even though he'd already been there for the longest time.

"Mr. King is your dad?" Funny, he had never made the connection. It made sense, he supposed. They DID look alike, when he really thought about it. "I guess I see the resemblance."

The shorter of the two nodded her head up and down, cheeks turning just a little pink. "Yep, that's my daddy." She laughed a little. "It's kinda weird seeing him around, especially since I like going in there so much for the piano." She shrugged. "But it's whatever I guess, you get use to it after a little while." She glanced down at his work on the bag, it looked great. "So what about you? Any hidden talents other than this?" She smiled as she looked back up at him.

Huh. Emma looked pretty cute when she was blushing... Hajime pulled his eyes away, his flush deepening a bit. "Violin," he mumbled, barely able to keep his words straight. He cleared his throat and repeated himself, this time more clearly. "I play violin."

Emma smiled wider when she heard him. "Oh cool!" She exclaimed happily. "I haven't met someone that plays violin, is it hard?" People normally said that piano was pretty difficult, but she had picked it up pretty easily, maybe it was the same with Hajime with violin?

"The beginning was really difficult." Holding the damn thing was always a pain, and figuring out the fingering for the different notes had taken forever. "But once I got the hang of it it was pretty easy. It just sorta comes naturally to me now." Thankfully his Aunt Yukiko had been really good about helping him through the basics.

"I gotcha, it always helps to have someone there to show you." Emma replied. "I think one of the reasons piano was so easy for me was that I had my dad teaching me, he's really patient with that sorta stuff." He was actually pretty patient as a whole, which was probably why he was so good. She laughed and shook her head a little. "Not to say I wasn't terrible at first, there were times my mom took my brother out for the day because I was so bad in the beginning." She remembered being pretty offended back then, but looking back she really couldn't blame them.

"I don't really think anyone is born ready to play a symphony." Hajime shrugged. The warm flushing in his cheeks was finally starting to fade, much to his relief. "Besides, it means more when you have to work for it 'n stuff..." His voice collapsed into mumbling as he finished the knot and trim off the excess thread with a pair of sewing scissors. He flipped the bag rightside out a passed it over to Emma.
"That should do it, I think. If it doesn't hold up you can let me know and I can fix it again..." Besides, that would give him an excuse to talk to her after this. Not that he wanted her bag to break or anything (he took pride in his work, after all), but still... Girls were normally scared of him, so being able to talk to one normally (or semi-normally anyway) was... nice.

Emma smiled bright as day when she saw the finished job on her bag. She took it and looked at the sewwing for a second, just to see if she could tell a difference in the rest of the normal stitching, he'd done a great job! "Oh, thank you Hajime!" She thought to hug him for a moment, the quickly dismissed the idea. He'd probably think it was weird, even if it would be in thanks.
The brunette put her books back inside the bag and pulled it over her shoulder to try it out, good as new! "It's perfect, really, I appreciate it." She said happily, looking up at him. She felt a little bad that their wasn't something to could do in return for him, he'd sort of wasted his own time just to help her.

Hajime rubbed the back of his neck rather sheepishly. "Yeah, well... don't mention it." cast his gaze to the side as he spoke. Eye contact had never been one of his strong suits. "It seriously wasn't any trouble, trust me."

Emma giggled softly a little, playing with the ends of her braid yet again. "Well I still appreciate it." She insisted. She looked around, thinking she should probably go soon, but she didn't wanna just leave him there like that after him helping her, it would have been rude. "Wanna walk with me...?" She asked awkwardly.

"Sure," he replied (a little too quickly). Hajime cleared his throat, evening out his voice. As an afterthought he asked, "Where're you headed anyway?"
