Emma wondered around the school for the first time, somehow straying away from her brother on accident. She was a little worried, she didn't like being alone for too long, and her mother would probably be upset that the two had gone separate ways (while not on purpose). She wanted to find him as soon as possible, but first...
There was suppose to be a music room near by and she wanted to see it as soon as possible. When she found it, her eyes lit up and she ran for the piano that was sitting neatly in one of the corners of the room. This was what she had been looking for! The only piano she'd ever played on was her daddy's and she wanted to get her hands on one a little different to see how it felt.
The brunette took a seat on the bench and looked at what music was sitting on the piano. She hadn't gotten to where she could memories long pieces of music like Daddy, but she was slowly getting there. She turned the pages until she found one that she liked. The Kuma smiled to herself and began playing, going off into a world of her own as the notes flowed from the piano and out into the halls of the school.

Daemon thanked his history teacher again for the help on his assignment and wandered out in the halls. He smiled at a few of his friends as he made his way to the music hall for some extra practice. His brows furrowed when he got to the hallway and heard the piano coming from the room. Nobody ever got here early to play, they knew Daemon claimed the large piano in the mornings.
The music was beautiful and when he entered the room he froze at the door. A girl, young and probably a freshman, sat on the stool completely engrossed in her playing. He crossed his arms and leaned against the door as he watched her play. It would be criminal if he were to stop her while she was doing so well and so engrossed in the music. Besides, it was beautiful and he liked the sound. The majority of students at the school couldn't play the piano to save their lives.
He decided that he'd speak up when she finished playing, but it seemed his nose was going to ruin that. After a minute or so of listening to her play, he sneezed lightly and mentally cursed himself.

Emma jumped at the sudden noise, her hands crashing onto the keys making an ugly sound and she looked up. "O-oh, I-I'm sorry!" she mumbled awkwardly, hurrying to her feet and grabbing her bag. She had no clue who the guy was, but if he was there he probably needed the music room for something and she was probably getting in the way. Her cheeks were red from embarrassment and she was smiling hesitantly. "I'll just be on my way!" she insisted as she made her way to the door.

Daemon shook his head quickly as he recovered from the sneeze. "No, no, it's fine really. I didn't mean to scare you. You can stay." he replied as she started to make her way to the door. "I just heard you playing and thought I'd listen a bit. You... you play beautifully, I've never really heard anything like it." He didn't mention that he could play, but he meant his comment regardless. It was rare to hear anyone else playing, especially anyone good.

Emma stopped walking and looked over at him, tilting her head in confusion. "Thanks?" she mumbled, not really sure what to say. It was a little unexpected, this guy looked like an upperclassmen and she didn't think he'd be too happy seeing her there unexpectedly. "M-my daddy taught me to play..." she trailed off awkwardly, unsure whether to continue the conversation or not.

Daemon smiled at the young girl. "He did a fantastic job then. It's not very often that there's kids here that can play, piano at least." he complimented. "How long have you been playing?" He asked curiously. Daemon walked further into the room and sat down on the piano bench out of habit. He looked up at the girl waiting for an answer, his small smile still present.

"Umm..." she muttered, trying to remember when exactly she started learning to play. "About... five years?" Yeah, it was a little after she turned ten that she started asking to learn. "He'd play for me, my brother, and mom a lot growing up, and I wanted to learn too." she rubbed her arm absently. She wanted to go find Tyler now, but she didn't want to be rude and walk out on the guy. She was kind of at a loss on what to do.

“Ah, that makes sense. You’re a prodigy then, most people couldn’t get as good as you are in five years.” Daemon replied smiling kindly at her. He spun around on the stool and rested his fingers on the keys. “There’s something magical about playing the piano isn’t there?” he mused, letting his fingers lightly drag across the keys, not enough to make a noise. He let his right hand settle in place over the keys and started playing a little warm up melody, then joined in with his left. The tune was light and calming. “I’m Daemon by the way.” He said as he morphed the warm up into a more elaborate piece.

Emma nodded. "I don't like to think of myself like that, but…" she shrugged, he had a point. She nodded as he made the comment about the piano, it really was beautiful. When she was little and wasn't working on dancing with her mom, she loved sitting next to her dad on the piano bench while he played, she even fell asleep on his lap like that occasionally.
She listened to him play, nodding her head a little to the music. He was pretty good too, she thought, and she was so focused on listening to the music that she almost missed his name. "Oh, I-I'm Emma." she replied, looking behind her back to the door before turning back. "N-not trying to be rude, but I really wanna go find my brother, we kinda got separated and I need to find him."

Daemon smiled as he looked at the black and white before him. “Nice to meet you Emma, and don’t worry, classes start in 10 minutes. The place is pretty easy to navigate I’m sure your brother would find you before you’d find him though.” He replied, continuously playing. The song morphed into something bouncy and fun. “You don’t have to go on my account. Sorry I stole the piano, I couldn’t help but take the vacant seat.” He added politely. He didn’t want Emma to leave yet, she was interesting and he wanted to talk to her a little more before she disappeared.

Emma blinked, slowly starting to feel a little uncomfortable. She really wanted Tyler now… "It's not your fault, m-my mom just really doesn't like me being away from him all that much." She didn't like her being alone at all really, and she could never figure out why. Her mother always seemed scared that something was going to happen to them, more so than Aunt Eva ever was with Anya, or Aunt Keis with Perri and Roman.

Daemon started to comment and say that she’d be alright but he got the feeling he was making Emma uncomfortable. He morphed his song into one of his favorite songs, Clair de Lune. “Sorry if I made or am making you uncomfortable,” he started as he focused on the keys. “It’s not often that I get the chance to talk to another piano player. There’s a bunch of kids that try to play here and I try to teach them but students here tend to have no patience with it.” He added with a shrug. He’d tried teaching several students before, but they all dropped out.

The Kuma blushed out of embarrassment once again, was she really making it that obvious? "I-I just don't wanna be rude!" she insisted, not realizing how loud she'd been until she'd finished, only making her blush more. She listened to what Daemon was playing a little longer, recognizing it after a few keys. "That's a pretty one…" she mumbled timidly. She certainly didn't have that one memorized yet, but she did know it when she heard it; it was just one of those she really liked.

Daemon glanced over his shoulder with a smile and raised eyebrow. “You’re not being rude at all. If anyone was rude it was me. Really, it’s no trouble at all. I don’t mind sharing.” He looked back at the keys, smiling to himself on the fact that he never missed a beat. “You shouldn’t be so apologetic when you did nothing wrong. Just because you’re new to the school doesn’t mean you don’t belong here. Confidence will take you a long way here.” Confidence is what helped make him what he was, without it he’d just be a pretty boy always hanging out with his sister. “Clair de Lune… my favorite.” He muttered as the tempo picked up.

Emma shrugged and scratched her head a little. "Yeah, I guess you have a point with the confidence thing…" she agreed. "It's just not something I really have, making friends is a little hard for me." she stopped talking and listened to the piano a little more, leaning against a near by wall since she was getting a little tired of standing.
