Tekka blinked behind her hands as Mikka chuckled. That was funny, none of her limbs were broken, or even in pain... She wasn't sure WHY she had thought Mikka might react badly to Tekka thinking she was pretty, but... Well, best not to worry about that now. She removed her hands from her face and the smile slowly reappeared upon her face. "Alright then... I won't worry about it..." She laughed a little. She was still blushing but it wasn't so bright anymore.

"Good then." The sky captured the Russian's attention once more. She turned her gaze upwards, seemingly captivated by the drifting clouds and patches of blue. "Life is too short to have any worries my friend." Although given Mikka had to look over her shoulder at one point or another. She was just as paranoid as the next person. It was hypocritical, but still good advice all the same. "Anxiety will always weigh down your heart, but as long as you do not accompany it with regret it won't hold you back." It wasn't hard to tell that she was speaking from experience, although one would have trouble getting any details out of such a cryptic message.

Tekka mulled over the Russian's words for a few moments, extricating what she could from the cryptic message. "No regrets, huh?" She murmured quietly... Well, if she did that she'd just kiss Mikka right here and now, but she was worried that wouldn't work out properly... Still, she really did want to... and Mikka had given her a nearly perfect opportunity...
On the cheek then, she decided. That wasn't nearly as creepy as on the lips if it went wrong. People in Europe kissed cheeks all the time, right? Right. So without giving herself any time to second guess herself, Tekka turned, leaned up, and gave Mikka a quick peck on the cheek.

Mikka blinked and turned to face Tekka as she pulled back. There was a slight shimmer of surprise on her face, but nothing extreme. Being as blatantly oblivious as she was, the Russian was entirely unaware of the intent behind the action. The cultural barrier was still thick, and Tekka had been correct in assuming a kiss on the cheek was a rather normal thing in Europe. Still, it had caught her a tad off guard.
"...That was a bit sudden, da?" There was a smile, one of pure incomprehension.

Tekka blushed just a bit. "Hey, you're the one that said 'no regrets,' remember?" She reminded as if to shift the embarrassment elsewhere. She... hoped that Mikka got what she meant by that... now that she had gotten it over with it felt like it would have been worthless if Mikka didn't realize what she had intended it to be...

"Da," Mikka chimed, tilting her head to the side like a confused puppy. "Though I am not exactly sure how that applies." She shrugged with an innocent smile, tacking on a giggle for good measure. "But I am glad you are taking my words to heart."

Tekka frowned just a bit. Mikka... didn't get it then? Crap... now what? She supposed there was always a way to make it clearer though. "Uh... well..." She attempted to elaborate... "I sorta... really like you, and I uh..." Dammit words!! Stop tripping over yourselves! Fall in! Hup hup hup! It was obvious that she wasn't going to be able to properly articulate her feelings though, so the little Tora simply leaned up again, this time aiming for Mikka's lips before quickly drawing back again. Her blush had intensified, and she hoped to high-heaven that Mikka wouldn't hate her for that...

Tekka would forever be able to claim the to being one of the few people who had ever made Mikka blushed. Her normally harsh grey eyes were round and wide with surprise as the blonde pulled away. That was something even someone as oblivious as herself could understand. Although, to be fair, it was rather out of the blue.
Once the initial shock wore off, the Russian ducked her head, shielding her face with a curtain of white hair as she gathered her thoughts. After a moment she straightened up, smiling apologetically.
"I truly am flattered, but trust me when I say a good girl such as yourself should not be involved with people like me. Not in that way."

Tekka took a breath after Mikka spoke and decided she should try to explain. Mikka seemed to think that the Tora WASN'T breaking the law on a daily basis. "Look..." She said quietly. "Just because I'm small and I needed help when you found me doesn't mean I'm always like that." She said. "I'm a thief, and a damn good one at that. I could probably take your wallet right now and you wouldn't notice. I'm used to having angry people on my tail and out for blood when I screw up..."
She glanced down. "And I'm tougher than I look... If your scared that I'm not going to be able to protect myself because you have enemies, well... My brother was trying to murder me up until recently, I run into psychotic people who seem to take a shine to me in the 'I want your blood spilled' way, and you know what? I'm okay with that." She gave a wry grin. "I'm a big girl, I can handle it."

"That's not what I meant," the Russian sighed. "I do not doubt that you are strong, comrade. I..." She cut off, deciding to explain her reasoning in a different way. "I am assuming you've never killed anyone, correct? You have never taken the life of a human being?" Mikka turned her head, the mixture of bitterness and remorse in her gaze. "You are not bathed in sin like those of my kind, and it is for the best if things are kept that way. Good people are not to be tainted by those with crimson hands."

Tekka blinked a little at the admission... It wasn't exactly surprising, Tekka had been informed about Hana's death and its circumstances through Jack and a few other members of the rescue team, but it seemed as if Mikka's guilt went much farther back than just that... She supposed that that MIGHT be why Mikka was reluctant to return to Russia...
Still, wouldn't be the first time she had talked with a murderer. Or wanted to kiss one, really, though Ts'ure, had been a little different (and she couldn't REALLY confirm that he was one, but he had had that vibe around him). "Well..." She began again after listening. "Sometimes, I guess it's more of a service to kill someone than to let them go... like what you did with Hana, or my Brother with that 'Puff' guy..."
She frowned. "I'm probably not explaining myself right... but I figure that if you've gone the extra mile to help in doing good, even if it is through bad methods, you're not entirely..." She searched for a proper word, eventually settling on the one Mikka had used. "Tainted?"

Mikka glanced over at Tekka with a small, weary smile. "Perhaps that is true. It would certainly be comforting to think so." She tiredly rubbed her eyes with her sweater sleeve, trying to clear her thoughts. "Sadly, I am not sure the rest of the world agrees." If they did, she would have never been on the run in the first place. It wasn't as though the Ookami regretted leaving her old home in Germany; coming to Russia was the best thing she had ever done. But it would have been nice to not have to look over her shoulder every moment or two along the way. Even now, the paranoia still followed her like an unwanted shadow.
"The truth of the matter is that I am selfish. It is not that I get nothing but suffering from..." She let the sentence trail off. "There is something that..." Again, she cut off. The Russian rubbed her eyes once more with a sigh. How could she explain the pleasant rush a death match gave her, the thrill of it all, without sounding some sort of monster? "Never mind, it isn't important."

Tekka decided to let that one go for now... Especially since she hadn't been entirely certain where Mikka was taking that train of thought. "Well... How about this then?" She held up three fingers. "You give this sort of thing a try for three weeks, if you still think it's a bad idea after that then I'll let it go and never bring it up again." But hopefully, during that time she'd realize that Tekka honestly didn't care... Whether that was for good or ill remained to be seen. "That is, of course, if we can still be friends afterwards."

"This sort of thing...?" Mikka looked up over her sleeves, the weariness leaving her eyes for a small sparkle of confusion. Once again, her obliviousness was getting in the way of clear communication.

Tekka flushed just a bit. "Uh... dating... Dating me. For three weeks." She clarified and rubbed the back of her neck as she made a mental note to keep a clearer sort of speech around Mikka.
