Hi held two bouquets of flowers in her hands. One was entirely white roses and the other of lilacs, the smell was so strong that her nose itched. But that didn't matter. The doctor was clad in a black dress, jacket and shoes. Her hair was pulled away from her face and was put into a lose bun, a few pieces of curly hair were around her face.
If she had not been wearing black, maybe she would be beautiful or even stunning, but today was no such day. It had been years since her parents' death, but it never got easier. For the first few years she went by herself, in the last few she always invited Seishy, just so she wasn't crying by herself. But today was different.
Today her new boyfriend was coming too, although he didn't know why, Hi never told him that her parents were dead. She just said to him that he should meet her at the cemetery and to wear nice black clothes. She didn't say anything more than that. She invited Seishy as usual, although he didn't know Fred was coming. Hi decided that it was good time to let Fred know, and also for him to 'meet the parents'. As they would say.
She stood in front of the entrance and was by herself at the moment. There a few here and there who passed her, greeted her and moved on their way. The day was nice, a bright sunny day which lifted her spirits a bit. She would tell Fred every thing today, and would probably cry over it... luckily she came prepared with tissues.

Seishiro hated the day for being so nice. Considering the occasion, the weather was far too cheery. Why couldn't there be some clouds, at the very least? The Tora sighed, glancing over at the cemetery. His black suit (the only one he owned, conicidentally) was vey somber by Seishiro's normal standards. However, like always, he added his own flare to the ensemble. A red and black striped tie and obnoxious plaid shoes (alongside his reglar assorment of piercings) were a strange piece of color in such a dull environment.
The Tora could see Hi from where he was standing. In his pocket were tissues. He was sure there would be plenty of crying today. The passing years didn't seem to make this any easier for both of them. Seishiro sighed again, walking towards the cemetery gates.
Fred, at the same moment, was coming from the opposite direction. He fit much more naturally into his dress clothes than his clan mate. Although he seemed a bit lost, having no real idea what he was there for.
He reached Hi a minute or so after Seishiro. Both thr boys looked at each other in confusion.
"What are you doing here?" the Brit I inquired, quite confused. The younger Tora shot the question back at him.
"What are you doing here?" He turned to Hi. "What's he doing here?"

Hi sighed, "I wanted him to meet them Seishy, that's what he's doing here." She adjusted the flowers she was carrying and the purse of her shoulder. Then she spoke to Fred, "Sorry, this must seem confusing, but I wanted you to meet my parents." She swallowed, her throat becoming tight at the last word.
She gestured to the gates and toward them, "Let's go." She went passed the gates and could only hope that the boys would follow. She wished that she could hold hands with them, but she was too busy carrying the flowers and trying her best not to cry.
She looked over her shoulder at Fred and said, "I promise I'll tell you what's going on when we get there." She smiled a tiny smile and then looked straight ahead, following the pavement road, it was a little bit of a walk to her parents' graves but she could see the big oak tree that they were settled on already. Not much farther to go.

The two men exchanged looks, shrugged, and proceeded to follow Hi through the cemetery. Seishiro cast the occasional weary glance in his clan mate's direction, although Fred didn't really notice. The younger Tora knew exactly what Hi was planning on explaining. He hoped the Brit was prepared to deal with a lot of emotions.
Fred, on the other hand, had absolutely no idea what was going on. However, he had no doubt that it would be clear sooner or later.

They made it to the oak tree, underneath were to solid marble headstones. They were white rectangular blocks with names written in Japaneses and English. The one to the right read 'Mori Kazu Hana' her father's name and to the left read, 'Kana Sakura Hana' her mother. When Hi got there she did not speak but began with her ritual that she did every time she came here.
First she placed the flowers in front of their graves, the lilacs in front of her father's grave and the white roses for her mother. She always had loved white roses. She then looked into her purse and pulled out four incense sticks. She placed them on the little stand on the grave. After lighting they, the scent of sweet smelling smoke filled the air. She got on her knees, sitting on her heels and prayed.
There was a few minutes of silence, and once she was done she stood turning to Fred and said, "Meet my parents, my father..." She gestured to the headstone on the right, "And my mother." She did the same with the left. She cleared her throat and looked at the head stones.
She began her story, trying speak as if it weren't her own, like it was some else's parents who died. "I was sixteen when they died. That day I had been sleeping after studying all night for a test in school, my parents were doctors and usually took me with them when they had a job... I was interested in becoming a doctor myself after growing up reading medical books." She smiled a little at the thought and continued.
"But that night or morning I guess... they got a call from a person who reported that someone got shot, they decided to let me sleep. They left to treat this man." She took a deep breath in, "They were never told that the person shot was in the middle of a gun fight, so when they got there, more then just one person who was injured. It was a clan battle on the street. My parents, being the wonderful they are..." She paused and corrected herself, "Were... they began helping the other people, no matter what clan they were from. But in the process of pulling an injured man out of the gun fire, they themselves got shot." Her words broke at the end but she took a shaky breath and continued.
"The next morning I was wondering where my parents were, they was came home on time, unless they called, so I began to get worried. I listened to the voice mail and found out where they were supposed to go that night so I went to find them." Hi was clutching her bag her hand, her knuckles turning white at the memory.
"By the time I got there, it was too late, my father died instantly, gun shot to the head, my mother probably lasted a couple minutes with the gunshot to her right lung. By the time I got there, I couldn't do anything. So I called the police and they took their bodies away." Hi sighed, trying to control her emotions, to put them in a jar and lock them up, but it didn't work. Her voice was calm but tears were streaming down her face.
"I..." Her voice cracked so she tried again, "I lived on my own since then, with the money for life insurance and scholarships I was able to go to college and take advanced classes, and I graduated early. So that's why..." She took out her tissues and wiped at her eyes, "I became a doctor." She turned and smiled a Fred, her eyes still tearing up, "To be just like them... Now you know." Then she fell silent, in a way, it felt relieving but also her heart was going a million miles an hour. What would Fred say to this, it was kind of a lot to take in... but she would wait and see.

Naturally, processing all of this at once was a tad diffiupt for th poor Brit to accomplish. There was a lot to take in, especially in a few short minutes. However, his main concern at the moment was only to keep Hi from looking so upset. Fred wanted to find the right way to comfort her- the right words to say or thr right things to do.
Yet, he was still at a loss for what the proper answer was. So he took the simple route; he took her hand and gave it a reassuring squeeze. The Tora wanted to tell his girlfriend just how brave he thought she was for going through all this- how beautiful and strong she was to him. But instead his voice could only muster up, "You are simply amazing."

Hi smiled, "Thanks." She squeezed back, it was what she needed. She gestured toward the graves, "I wanted you to meet them." She wiped at her eyes again, and spoke to the headstones, "Mom... Dad... This is Fred my boyfriend, I brought him so you could see him today." She wasn't sure what else to say, because that was the reason Fred was here today.
She looked behind Fred at Seishy and gave him a tiny smile, "Get your butt over here, come say hi." She offered her other hand to her best friend, the one with the tissue. Like every other year before, they both ended up crying while holding hands, Seishy had known her parents well, they were like his second parents. It was natural for him to be upset when he found out that day. He loved them as much as she did, and he is like a brother to Hi. That's why she was scared to lose him...

Seishiro piped up before Fred could. "Hey there you two," he chimed. He had always been rather informal with Hi's parents, either referring to them by their first names or occasionally as "mom" and "dad" when he was feeling particularly humorous. "Thought you'd enjoy the tie." The Tora smirked, adjusting the obnoxious thing around his neck. He turned to Hi. "Whataya you think?"

She smiled, "They would think you looked ridiculous but wonderful." She grabbed his hand and squeezed it, then squeezed Fred's encouraging him to say hi too. Then they would probably sit and talk for a bit, recall good memories. Maybe it was because of the blue sky or because she was with the two greatest guys ever... but she was happy. Maybe this once, she wouldn't end up crying herself to sleep.

Awkward as this felt, Fred still mustered up a polite hello for Hi's parents. Seishiro gave him a shockingly soft small, a huge difference from his normal smirks. After a moment, said Tora flopped back onto thr grass, looking strangely at ease for the occasion. He hummed thoughtfully before speaking.
"Remember when we met, Hi?" Seishiro chuckled at the thought. "Even then, I never managed to shock your parents."

Hi crouched by the gravestones, brushing dirt and leaves from the white marble. She smiled, "Of course, how could I forget?" She looked up at Fred, the tree above them, shaded her eyes from the extremely bright sun.
He was probably confused so she explained, "My parents were Seishy's family doctors. They heard that his family had a boy around my age at the time, I think I was seven, so they brought me along so I could make new friends. So the first time we met, we decided to play while our parents went to fill out paperwork."
She put her normal disgusted tone for the last word and continued, "Seishy was the princess and I was the knight." She laughed, to Seishy she said, "Your mother told me that she knew that you were an odd one, from the time." She smiled at the thought. That was a long, long time ago.

Seishiro smiled at the memory of that day- little him furiously insisting that he wanted to be the princess over and over. Hi had given in pretty easily, though not without confusion. It was the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
"I think Mom knew I was going to be more than odd," he chuckled. "What with parading around in dresses and sparkles. And not-so-secret boyfriends..." The Tora shifted his eyes over with a thoughtful hum. "No wonder Dad kept trying to make me play sports."

Hi laughed, "I remember that..." Then she grinned, "Remember the time I wouldn't let you wear my mascara?" She turned to her boyfriend, "It had sparkles in it, I insisted that he shouldn't wear it. By that time he was already wearing eye liner and eye shadow. But at the time it was going too far." She smiled.
Hi smiled at the memories, Seishy was the longest friend she had ever had. She loved him like a brother or maybe a son, and would probably feel that way forever.

"But it was so sparkly!" Seishiro had never once stopped protesting this point, and he probably never would. "I needed it to maximize my sparkly-ness! The inner-sparkle fairy demanded it!" Fred was unable to muffle his laughter.
"Of course, Seishy. Of course you would." He chuckled softly at the younger Tora, who stuck his tongue out at him in response.
"You're just jealous because I'm prettier than you!"
"Ouch. You wound me with your words." The Brit clasped his chest dramatically in faux anguish. Seishiro only continued making faces at him, resembling a ticked-off five-year-old.

Hi smiled, "Enough! The mascara is in the past." Then she grinned, "You probably have your own anyway." Hi sighed at the memory. Then she remembered something else, something that made her very happy.
"Remember when you asked me to sleep with you Seishy?" The paused and smiled, which was a little creepy, "You never made that mistake again." Then she turned to her boyfriend, "He asked me to sleep with him in high school, I slapped him so hard that he went flying. My parents ran in thinking the bookshelf fell over." She laughed. Now that she looked back on it, that was actually quite hilarious.
