Tekka strolled through the grocery store, stitches thankfully not proving to be a problem at the moment. She had just recently done preemptive surveillance on the manor to look for good escape routes, and she was going to have to head over to see Cross soon to dye her hair later that day to prepare for the ACTUAL mission tomorrow. To keep herself from going insane, she was looking for snacks. Greasy, salty, sugary, high-in-fat snacks to get her mind off the suicide mission she was going on.
She was bringing Greg's lucky cap along nearly all the time these days, hopefully it would work its magic and keep everything from blowing up in everyone's faces. So far it seemed to be working, so it stayed upon her mop of messy blond hair where it would be most effective. The thief looked through the snacks, she actually planned to pay today considering she didn't need more bad karma, looking for something chocolaty...

Frankie was only at the store to grab a few things. His apartment was a little low on food and he was just trying to buy enough food to last him the week until he got his next pay check. The shopping cart he was pushing along just had some basic needs: two bags of tortilla chips, some salsa, and a 12 pack of soda. He could live on the stuff for days, which was what he was planning on doing for the week.
As he was making his way down the aisles, he noticed a little blond girl from the corner of his eye. The only thing that really stuck out about her was the hat she was wearing. Looked just like the kind he gave his brother awhile back. He didn't think too much on it though, black caps like that were extremely common, last time he saw Greg's was at his funeral, that redheaded girl was holding onto it.
The Ookami shook his head, his mind was wondering off again. He went back to his shopping, just needed one more thing and he could go home.

Tekka could feel eyes on her, and perhaps out of paranoia a shiver ran down her spine. She looked over at the source after a moment or two. "Somethin' wrong?" She asked, trying to keep a grin on her face. If it was another psychopath she wasn't going to make any promises about the state of the premises after she was done. She'd had quite enough of them for now, thank you kindly.

Frankie blinked and looked back at the girl. He gave an awkward laugh and scratched his cheek. "Nah, sorry about that," he said quickly. "I just saw that hat you're wearing, it looked familiar was all." He sighed and held his hand out for a handshake(if she would take it, he hoped he hadn't freaked her out or anything). "Francis Bennson." he paused. "Call me Frankie?" he said, almost as a plead.

Tekka blinked in surprised. Bennson? Wasn't that...? She took Frankie's hand and shook it. "Tekka King... You woudln't 'a happened to have had a brother, wouldja?" Past tense was unfortunately necessary, but at least she could say she knew Greg, even if it only had been one day...

The purple haired Ookami gave her an odd looked, nodding his head as he brought his arm back to his side. "Yeah, I did." he said. "Died a few years ago... I gave him a hat just like that once." he said, grinning a little. He raised a brow at her. "How'd you know?" he asked, curious. That little cap was starting to look more and more familar to him. "Did you know him? Greg?"

Tekka could have sighed in relief. She didn't have to break any bad news, for starters, and this guy seemed completely sane and a functioning member of society. What luck! "Yeah, only for a little bit though." She rubbed the back of her neck. "I met him once when I was little, he taught me some things and we got ice cream and I never saw him again..." She shrugged. "But hey, weird coincidence, huh?" Granted, it wasn't like she had gotten the hat then, but if Frankie was curious, she'd tell him. Greg's brother wouldn't try to hurt Hotaru.

Frankie's grin grew a little more, he finally found someone else that knew his brother! He'd been looking around FOREVER it felt like. "Yeah, kinda funny." he said, glancing at the cap again. "And I'm guessing that is the one I gave him?" he said, more as a statement. "But, I'm a little confused, last time I saw the thing was at his funeral. Some redhead had it, a friend of his I think." he tilted his head. "How'd you end up with it?"

Tekka tugged at the hat a bit as Frankie brought attention to it. "Well, she's my brother's girlfriend, and she gave it to me because she thought I'd be able to take care of it properly." And she had, the hat was both well-loved and well cared for. "I'd, uh, introduce you to her, but that's kind of not an option right now."

Frankie was silent for a moment. That girl gave away the hat? Well... He shouldn't judge, so far Tekka didn't seem that bad, and the hat was still in good shape. He didn't quite understand what she meant by he couldn't meet the redhead at the moment. "Why not? Is she gone or something...?" he was wanting to get to meet her and talk to her about Greg, she was so quiet and distant at the funeral that he didn't even want to try talking to her then.

Tekka grimaced. "Weeeeell..." She stretched out the word and glanced to the side. "Not... exactly..." She looked to his cart. "Tell ya what, finish up getting whatcha need and I'll tell ya, just... can't really tell ya here." Anywhere that didn't have security cameras would be nice. She wasn't exactly a most wanted person anymore, but it was still a good idea to be cautious when discussing Ruru in public. Especially now. The blond grabbed a bag of chocolate bars off the shelf. "If you've got an apartment or house or something we can talk there, I don't have a lot of time so meeting elsewhere'd take too long."

Frankie frowned a little, but shrugged and nodded anyway. "Sure, I've got an apartment not too far from here, just grabbing a few snacks before I go." he threw in a box of Twislers not too far off in the candy section and looked back at her. "I'm about set now, I'll pay for that if ya want." he offered, pointing at the chocolate bars she had. Any friend of Greg's was a friend of his, he'd be happy to pay.

Tekka shook her head. "Nah, I'm going over to your place..." Actually, if she was looking for good karma... "So why don't I pay for your stuff? It ain't much and I've got plenty of cash." The pleasures of pickpocketing, never being short of money was a lovely sensation.

Frankie gave her an odd look, grinning a little as he shook his head and began heading up to the front of the store. "No can do, I don't really like people paying for me, especially not a girl I just met." he shrugged a little, still grinning. "I like to think of myself as a gentleman from time to time after all." With that he grabbed the chocolate from Tekka and put it in his cart, chuckling a little under his breath.

Tekka couldn't help but grin. "Hey! At least let me pay for my own stuff!" She half-pleaded. The effect was ruined by the cheer in her voice. This guy wasn't half bad, if he was like Greg used to be, Tekka wasn't surprised that Hotaru had fallen for him.
