If there was one thing that was consistent about Mikka Volkov's personality (and, in all honestly, consistency was hard to come in the Russian), it was her love for the outdoors. One could depend on finding her outside at almost any time of day. Grant it, she WAS human; sleep and food were necessary at least on occasion. But the Ookami kept herself free of walls whenever possible.
So, as had become normal, Mikka meandered throughout the vast gardens, happy to be around such rich life. She missed the crunch of snow beneath her face and the stinging chill in the air, but this could do until winter came around again...

Matsuda was walking around the garden in yet another attempt to calm his nerves. Ever since Hotaru had been kidnapped he had been trying his best to get people together to help, but he still couldn't assure himself completely that everything was going to be okay. He knew it would be, but he was protective, and paranoid. He sighed, shoving his hands in his pockets and taking in the air to calm himself. He was too focused on trying to relax that he didn't notice he was close to running into a girl near him.

Mikka, thankfully was more aware than the man walking towards her, halted and, once he got close enough, poked the guy in the ribs. She held her index finger against his chest, both getting his attention and stopping his movements.
"Careful there friend," the Ookami drawled in her thick Russo-German accent. "You nearly ran me over." She smirked, making it clear she was not angry, but rather somewhat amused.

Matsu didn't come to a stop until he felt a really unpleasant pole in his ribs. He blinked his single grey eye and looked at the woman. "Oh! S-sorry Miss!" he quickly apologized and took a step back. The blond scratched the back of his head, a bit embarrassed. "I've... Been a little distracted, didn't see where I was going." he explained before he thought about introducing himself. "I'm Matsuda, Matsuda Megumi." had to be polite after all, he did nearly run into her.

"Mikka," she replied. The Ookami more or less refrained from giving her last name, even if, legally speaking, it wasn't actually her real name. Just a habit, she supposed; part of laying low. After a pause, the Russian gave the taller man a quick looking over. He was alright, she thought. Friendly and polite enough; he gave off good vibes. In those few seconds Mikka decided she liked this Matsuda person. As a reward for winning her approval she gave him a smile.
"I understand how the thinking could get in the way sometimes. Do not worry about it." Her words were broken and accented, but still understandable.

Matsuda smiled a little. "Thanks." he said, rubbing his neck a little. Mikka, that name sounded familiar, he was pretty sure he heard Tekka mention that name once-
The blond blinked and checked to see what clan she was in. The green bracelet confirmed his suspision and he looked back at her. "Um... This is gonna sound weird, but have you met a little blond girl named Tekka lately? At the cemetery, with her brother maybe...?" he didn't want to give out details about it in case this wasn't the woman Tekka had said could help them. He hoped she was though, it's be nice to know who all was helping.

"Mm..." Mikka closed her eyes softly, humming thoughtfully for a few seconds before the answer came to her. A sudden alertness filled her gaze. "Ah, yes," she chimed. "We did meet. They were both in terrible shape. Lots of blood. It was lovely." The Russian chuckled awkwardly, scratching her cheek. "Right. Anyway. Why is it important to you?" There was a flicker of suspicion behind her eyes, but it was almost undetectable.

Matsuda's eye widen a little, excited that he had finally ran into the woman that promised to help. "Sh-she said you could help us get my sister back?" he didn't mean to sound so desperate, but he really couldn't help it. He was ignoring her rather odd response for the time being, he didn't want to risk offend someone that could help them out after all. "You are the one she said could help right?"

"Oh, yes!" Mikka smiled and clapped her hands, happy that her offer to help had been taken up. "I offered the little blonde one help. I found her story very moving. "Da, it touched me right here." She patted the spot where her heart was with a somber nod. However, the smile was back in mere seconds. "I have a friend, well a not-quite friend, but someone who is willing to assist. I think you will be finding him useful." Another nod.

Matsuda grinned, and without thinking he hugged Mikka out of gratitude. "Thank you so much!" he exclaimed, relief washing over him a little easier now that he knew who this mystery woman was. He let go after a moment or two and scratched his head. "Sorry... It's just been a little stressful lately.." A little was an understatement, but he wasn't going to dump all his issues on someone he just met, that was rude after all.

Mikka went as stiff as a board the moment Matsuda hugged her. Her eyes grew wide and her arms hung limply at her sides and her brain tried to overcome her surprise. She wasn't used to being touched by people in this sort of way, kind and happy. People were either trying to kill her or avoiding getting too close altogether. So, needless to say, the Ookami didn't know how to react. She just stood there until the blonde pulled away.
"Ah, yes, YA ponimayu. Having a sister missing would be..." she struggled to find the proper word in English. Giving up, she just slipped back into Russian. "...trevozhnaya."

Matsuda cracked a small nervous grin. "Yeah..." he honestly didn't know some of the words she just said, but with her accent it was pretty obvious that it was some other language and he wasn't just being stupid. "So I take it you're not from around these parts?" He wanted to try to get to know her a little more before they went and saved 'Taru, it would be easier, plus she seemed like a nice enough person.

"That is correct. I am from Russia." She smiled, trying to act somewhat civil. "I am guessing my accent tipped you off. It is very hard hiding your origins when you know so little of a language. Your slang still puzzles me." Her brow furrowed momentarily, a signal to her frequent confusion with the English language.

Matsu blinked. "Russian huh? You're a long way from home then." he laughed a little at her comment. "I guess it would be hard understanding it if you grew up with another language." he shrugged. "You're not doing a bad job though, at least people can understand you." he pointed out. She worded things a little differently than normal, but he could still tell what she was trying to say for the most part.

"Ah, thank you. My best efforts are being given. Although this is my third language, so it is tricky sometimes." German, she considered her second, and Russian her first. Technically she had spoken the latter before the prior, during the time she had been at the orphanage.
Taking on a more serious tone, Mikka decided to address the bigger issue at work. "I apologize for the break it conversation, but about your sister; I will be helping you but I will not be wanting to charge into this affair blindly. Can you tell me anything that may be useful?" She was pretty sure Karter would appreciate some info as well.
