Archer nodded and brushed her hair aside again. "Say it again. I'm not afraid. I'm not ashamed. It wasn't my fault." he repeated staring down at her. "Your scars do not define you. You're not responsible."

Hotaru didn't hesitate nearly as much this time. "It wasn't my fault, I'm not ashamed, I'm not afraid." she repeated it a little more, running through the words faster and faster. "Not my fault, not ashamed, not afraid, not my fault, not ashamed, not afraid," She stopped herself to give her a moment to breathe, she was shaking even more now. That... Really did take a load off of her shoulders strangely.

Archer smiled and nodded. "Atta girl!" he exclaimed releasing her face and stepping back a little. He walked to the table where his bag sat. He pulled out a water bottle and walked back to where Hotaru was chained. He helped sit her up slightly and poured a bit in her mouth. "Now how do you feel?" he asked laying her back down.

Hotaru took the water without complaining, coughing a few times when it went down the wrong way. She didn't want to answer Archer, she didn't want to admit to him how great it actually felt to let that all out for once. She didn't want to give him that satisfaction. "Can... Can I get off this now?" she asked instead. The redhead didn't know what else he'd have in store for her, and it still scared her to wonder.

Archer sighed and shook his head. She still had more to learn if she continued to avoid basic questions like that. "Nope." he replied popping the p. He sat the water bottle down back on the table then walked back to the red head. He leaned against the stone slab and looked down at her scars. He dragged a finger across the scars and looked up at Hotaru's face. "Does this bother you now?" he asked brushing over the scars softly.

Dont be a smart ass, dont be a smart ass, "It bothers me every time you touch me." Dammit, she just had to didn't she? She felt a little better after having some water, but she wasn't completely good. For some reason she felt stupid enough to be rude again, which wasn't the best thing to do in her current situation.

Archer raised his eyebrow and shook his head. "You're obviously learning nothing." he replied walking away from the slab to one of his lab tables. He pulled out a canister and started to pour a circle around the slab. "We're going to have a little experiment. You're going to keep repeating those sentences until you finally believe them for yourself. By the end of this you'll be comfortable with your scars and with me. We'll work with your aversion to the kids after this." He finished off circling the stone and set the canister aside. He'd poured a circle approximately a foot around the sides of the stone she was chained. Archer pulled out his lighter and flipped it open and watched the flame flicker. "Are you ready?" he asked as he leaned down and lit the gun powder. It instantly flared to life around the red head. "Start!" he yelled stepping back.

Hotaru didn't even notice she was screaming her lungs out until she started coughing on all the smoke. She didn't even know what she was screaming out half of the time, she just couldn't quick panicing and struggling violently to get free.
'I'm gonna die I'm gonna die I'm gonna die!!!' her head kept yelling at her. 'Dead like Greg and Yusuke and Bentley and the others!!' She started seeing the fire and blood and MORE fire and MORE blood and it just WOULDN'T STOP!!
She let one more very sharp shriek escape her lips before she finally stopped. As much as she would have hoped, the Tora wasn't dead, though she wasn't all that alive either. The redhead was still conscious, but the look in her eyes was more than enough to tell that she wasn't all there.

Archer turned on the air vents which cleared the air. He then doused the fire and unchained Hotaru's arms and legs. Carefully he picked her up off the stone and carried her to the couch. "I wasn't wanting to resort to that but you left me no choice." he muttered shaking his head. He sat down on the couch and laid Hotaru down, he kept her head in his lap and wiped her face down with a cloth. She hadn't even been there very long before she cracked. "What have you learned Darling?" he asked smoothing back her hair.

Nothing registered to the redhead for a while. She couldn't notice being unchained or carried, and she barely felt the cloth on her face. When she heard his voice however, her response was almost automatic. "It wasn't my fault, I'm not ashamed, I'm not afraid." her voice was soft and quiet, and sort of like one of those female computer voices.

Archer smiled to himself. She'd be like this for a while but soon she'd gain some of her usual self back. She'd get back some of her mind as soon as she left his playroom but instead of fighting everything she'd go along with it willingly. No puppeteering needed, just simple fear. "Good girl." he lifted her head and got up. He went back to the table and grabbed his bag then brought it back to the couch. "Sit up so we can eat." he urged as he crouched at her feet and pulled out food and drinks.

Hotaru sat up the moment she was told to do so, no complaining, not a word at all. She was like a robot answering to its master. She was silent for a while as she watched Archer get food out. "...Food?" she asked, her stomach suddenly growling rather loud, it kinda hurt too. "I haven't eaten..." she mumbled quietly. That wasn't good, was it? She couldn't think of why she hadn't bothered eating for the past... whenever it was. How strange...

Archer handed her a wrapped up subway sandwich he'd made and a water. "No you haven't eaten, that's not good. You have to eat to gain some strength so you can do things again." he placed a bag of chips on her side then grabbed his own and sat beside her. "Go on darling, eat up so we can go back upstairs in a little while." he waited until she would start eating to eat for himself. Having her weak to get her to this point was perfect but he wouldn't let her starve under his watch. He liked to think of himself as a good host.

Hotaru nodded her head, taking a bite out of the sandwich. Her stomach, instead of thanking her, started to ache a little again from having food for the first time in a while. She kept eating though, realizing just how hungry she was. It wasn't long before the sandwich was gone and she took the water and drank about half of it before setting it down.
As she took the bag of chips beside her, slowing down on her eating to a more natural pace. "What happens after this?" she asked the Kuma, her voice still keeping the same absent-minded tone.

Archer finished eating quickly as well and took a moment to ponder over her question. "Well what do you say to taking a swim and relaxing for a while?" he asked. That would be the true test to her self consciousness and her aversion to him. He didn't want to strain her mind too much more and have it snap back to normal or worse... stick her in a coma. That had happened to one of his experiments back at his old place. They had a fear of darkness which was all too easy to use.
Archer quit thinking and placed his trash in the bag as well as Hotaru's. He held his open hand out for the red head and smiled. "Come on darling. Let's get you out of here. Hopefully we won't have to venture down here for a while." he said the last bit for more of her sake than his own. He loved his little hideaway chamber.
