Tekka sat on a spur of rock a little ways out from the sand of the beach. The salty spray crashed against the rocks and sent droplets of water up into her face. It was a little too cold to swim, but Tekka loved the ocean at night. It was quiet and calming, and she read that the sound of waves often reminded people of their mothers. She just wished she had one to remember.
Still, she swung her legs and waited. She wasn't sure for what, but the young thief had begun listening almost exclusively to her instincts lately and they had told her that something was going to happen tonight. It was just a matter of what and when.

Ryou walked slowly to the ebach, his heavy footsteps not masking his presence at all. he had grown taller since he had last been to this city and had grown more muscular, but those werent the things that would make someone notice the difference. His face had a few tatoos, underneath which seemed to be scars and his face looked aged and wrinkled despite his young age. his long white hair was now short and gray and one eye had changed to a yellowish tint. His heavy footsteps reflected his muscular change while his deep breathing hinted at his cosmetic change. Ryou stopped when he came by a girl around his age and he looked at her, unsure of what to say or if he would be recognized.

Tekka's ears practically pricked at the sound of footsteps. With a night so quiet, the footfalls were hard to miss, and her hand twitched. A leftover impulse from the fight with Aiden and the time at the range. The crash course had done wonders for her, and her reflexes were only improving as time went on.
Her subtlety, however, wasn't. And she couldn't keep the expression of fear off her face when she turned to see a giant with mismatched eyes lumbering her way. She wouldn't draw her mismatched pistols until he was a danger, but to her this was about the equivalent of waking up to see slenderman staring you down. There was a slight pause before she spoke, sounding more confident than she felt.
"...Hey..." She said, waiting for a response.

Ryou looked down to see the expression of fear on her face, not uncommon before his change, but this was a completely different sense of fear he saw in her. "You dont remember me do you?" He asked, his voice sounding similar but more mature, but also angrier and more coarse and rough. his left hand twitched slightly and he clenched it in a fist to calm the trmor down. 'still not complete yet..' he thought to hiself while glancing at his hand before looking back at the girl.

Tekka quirked a brow. "We've met?" She was pretty sure she would have remembered this guy. Facial tattoos weren't all that common, especially the way his was. He looked like he had wandered out of some weird dojo up on Old Mt. Everest. Not that Tekka would know, all she knew she had picked up from movies and books. Her gun was just a motion away, she reminded herself, willing calm. The fear slowly left her face.

"We have dueled before, Ryou Alighero, the guy who was always around Hana." He replied, clenching and unclenching his fist while his face remained the same calm scowl while he spoke despite the unusual expression he was sure she would make and he would find humuorous and normally laugh at.

Both her eyes widened at that and she drew her gun, no longer caring if Ryou might feel threatened and go insane on her. "Why are you here then, creep?" She hissed. From what she had gathered, the once-pale guy had been just that, anyone willing to hang around Hana was just creepy in general. "If you're looking for a rematch, forget it, I don't have my cards." Or her duel disk. She didn't carry them around much anymore.

Ryou grinned with no sense of humour and just spread his arms slightly "If you want to shoot the go ahead, I have already died many times." He said, but rather than his suall insane arrogance it was a calm anger, nothing but pure intimidation. "I came here because the salt in the air and the cool darkness soothes whats left of my face." He told her, gesturing slightly so his face would be in the moonlight all of the canyons of scars and stretched skin clearly visable for her.

Tekka's hold didn't falter, but she lowered the gun, a little too curious to just kill him. "What's that supposed ta mean?" She asked, right eyebrow raised. She refused to show fear anymore. Refused.

"While i was gone I got into a small 'accident.'" He said "I was caught in a fire and had my hair and several parts of my skin burned off, naturally the heat caused several pieces of gas to explode and scar my further. he smoke did damage to my voice and I ended up burned beyond recognition eventually." He began to explain "After that I needed several skin grafts to begin healing again, but due to the severity of the burns there wasn't exactly enough for them to fix all of my body and they had to just let whatever skin i had to stretch and regrow, hence the aged appearance, after Ihad been changed so much I began toexcersize and grow stronger in order to suport the muscles that were damaged by using the ones that made it though." He finsihed before grinning slightly "But the best part is was when I was pronounced dead several times, and each time I felt the same thing: nothingness. A calm black void enveloped me where my concios thoghts merely drifted towards me like the tides. During the balance between life and death I had new outloooks on both life and death, that life should be spent gaining and ghoarding all power and knowledge you are able to and death is an eternity of meditation." He explained, his voice and face wavering and changing only slightly. "The tatoos were only to fill in a few of the scars and make my face symmetrical again." He added.

Tekka wasn't too sure what to say to that, it didn't really jive with her own views on life, but she had a feeling that Ryou wouldn't particularly care about those morals she had. However, the survival story was a little incredible, and she had to give the guy props for getting through it. "...Fascinating." She commented dryly, stowing away her gun. With any luck things wouldn't get hairy and she'd be able to stay in peace.

"Death has taught me much, primarily that good and evil have never affected human history, only power and deceit have been able to do so, what one defines as good and evil can conflict with what another believes in. There is no good nor evil in this world, only powerful and powerless." He stated to her with ego.

"Yeah yeah," She muttered. "Nothing's black and white, all some random shade of fuckin' gray. I know that." And she knew this well enough. Two sides to every conflict, everyone was right in their own eyes, the enemy was always 'evil' no matter which side you were on. "I don't think that there's only powerful and powerless. And killing people is evil, that's my line and what I stand for on the 'good and evil not existing' thing... It exists, just not the way we usually think."

"Killing cannot be evil, killing in self defense and killing to survive are necessities in virtually all other aspects of life. Even if you say that extenuating circumstances cause the rules to be bent something like good and evil are too simple to be bent, only broken. Killing is part of life, on which only the most powerful survive." He replied casually, not talking for any specific reason but only because he wanted to speak and get the thoughts out of his mind.

Tekka just rolled her eyes and didn't say anything. She had a feeling even if she did then they'd just wind up talking in circles. Not exactly something she wanted to do when the night had been turning out so pretty. "Nice night tonight." She said absently, wondering if he would just bulldoze over the topic change or not.
