"Outside the window, kira kira kira rii..." Ayumu sang quietly to herself, adding the finishing touches of a painting of a variety of different colored roses in front of her. It was a beautiful day and she wanted to take the opportunity to go out and practice painting flowers a little more.
She had insisted that Kyou came along with her for company, and so that she wouldn't be so shy if someone were to come along and see her painting and try commenting on it or something. She got shy very easily around strangers, especially when it came to her art. The light haired twin didn't even understand why people loved her paintings so much anyway, West's pictures were way better, and they were real to add to it.

Kyou was perched in a tree branch, using his camera to snap a few choice photos of landscapes and the occasional bright-colored bird. Pretty much anything that caught his eye. He kept the eye that wasn't busy with its catching on his sister, despite her being the older of them she was pretty shy and Kyou had come here with East without a struggle. Aside from that, he liked watching his sister paint. With a camera you could only catch what was real, and there was no true effort needed to do it since it only took the push of a button. Painting took heart and talent, and it could create too.
It wasn't that the Tora would give up his own talent, he loved what he did (it was so easy after all, so it suited him perfectly), but he occasionally found himself jealous about Ayumu's talents with a brush. She should be rich and famous by now, and Kyou couldn't help but feel maybe he was holding his twin back. After all, with her grades, East could have gone to any college or gotten any sort of scholarship and the city would have let her go (as long as she promised to return) so why hadn't she gone somewhere else? Hatsu Itonami wasn't known for art schools...
Kyou heaved a sigh, staring at the camera in his hands before returning his gaze to his sister, camera traveling with his hands as he snapped a photo of his sister painting. The lighting was too good for him to pass up, and she looked so serene...

Ayumu did a slight touch up on a white rose when she heard a camera go off in more of her direction. She stopped what she was doing, a faint smudge of wet paint left on the canvas, and looked in her brother's direction. "Get any good shots?" she asked him, wanting to see what all he had gotten so far. He had to have been able to get at least some good shots with the good scenery around them. There was just something about the garden that attracted her, so many colors from the various flowers and other plants.

"A few." Kyou called over with a smile, the fleetingly dark part of his mind retreating. "It's hard to mess one up here, after all!" He hopped down from his perch, careful to keep his camera safe and away from any jolt of impact, and bounded over to his sister for he wanted a closer look at the painting. The canvas's image made him smile, roses. It was so... East, and they were done beautifully, as if he could pluck one off of the canvas. Though why he would would be a mystery, it would mess the whole thing up!

Ayumu smiled sweetly as West came down and took a look at her painting. "What do you think?" she asked him, a curious tone apparent in her voice. "I think I could have added a little more color to it, but I'm not sure..." she looked up for a moment and noticed some people walking by that were glancing at the canvas. Noticing this only made her get a little closer to it to block it from their view, cheeks turning slightly pink.

Kyou looked it over with a critical eye, it wouldn't do his sister any good if he didn't give good criticism. "I like it the way it is, personally, if you put more color in I think it would lose some of the balance and the... uh.." He snapped his fingers as he looked for the right word. "I don't know the word..." He whined, pouting. "Like how when everything kinda goes with everything else, like that." He honestly wished he could figure out the word, and he looked about ready to try again when he noted the people and his sister's blush. West smiled kindly. "You know, you should really let people look, you're great at this sort of thing."

Ayumu listened to Kyou's criticism, agreeing with it in the end and deciding it was fine the way it was. His next comment about letting people see made her shake her head. "I-I don't like showing off my work..." she muttered sheepishly. "Besides, you're pictures are much better..." At least she thought so, she loved West's photography, how he was able to capture a moment with the press of a button. She thought it was amazing.

He gave his sister a disbelieving look. "You've gotta be kidding me, East," He said, returning to his smile a moment later. "You create these amazing works of art without any real outside help, that's way better than a photo. Why d'ya think paintings sell for thousands?"

Ayumu looked down at her hands, fiddling with her fingers for a moment as she spoke. "B-but my paintings aren't that good, at least not yet..." she paused and looked up at West with a loving smile. "Besides, I don't care for selling my paintings, I just love the fact that I can do something like this, I could never part with them." they were like a piece of her heart, each painting. She giggled slightly. "Besides, I wouldn't want to be of any competition to you anyway, West."

Kyou scoffed. "You, dear East, could kick Picasso's butt, so don't go selling yourself short." He then offered a reassuring wink. "And we use different mediums and get two different products, there's no competition from my point of view." He plunked down next to his sister, reveling in the breeze.

Ayumu giggled a little more. "It's art either way, everyone just has their own opinion on each style." she reminded him. "But even so, if I were to go out and try selling my painting-" she paused. "which I'd never do, while you were trying to sell your photos, there would indeed be competition there, little brother." she smiled wider at the last part. It was fun calling him little brother, considering they were only a few minutes apart and that he was also taller than her by a good bit.

Kyou stuck his tongue out in retaliation. He was younger, he had the right to act childish if he pleased. "I guess, but we stick together, so it wouldn't really matter..." He fiddled with his camera's strap, feeling that he was losing the debate as always.

Ayumu laughed, patting his shoulder. "That's right, the two of us, no matter what." she agreed, a gleam of joy sparkling in her eye. They had always been together, she couldn't think of ever parting with West, it was too scary for her to imagine. It was a main reason she had never left the city, even with something so disgusting as a war of all things going on. She could never leave her twin.

Kyou smiled broader, hugging his sister tight. While it was both a suspicion and a fear of his that he may be holding his elder sister back, he couldn't bear to lose her. He was just glad she liked sticking around him as much as she did. "No one's left behind." He added to East's words, wishing to be able to say something a little more profound. Where had his vocabulary run off to after school, anyhow?

Ayumu hugged her brother back just as tight, glad to hear the words he had just said. No one left behind, she wanted to keep it that way, too. "Got that right." she told him after the hug, poking his cheek lightly. "And don't you ever forget it, okay?"
