Desiree blinked a few times, surprised. "Er, well, I've been in about five years, too." she said. "I was thirteen." she shrugged. "So yeah, five years. Weird, huh?" she asked.

Tessa counted silently. "Wow, that is weird." she said with a giggle. "So you're 18?" she asked to clarify. "How'd if feel going into a war at 13?" She was probably asking too much of a personal question but Tessa wasn't aware of it.

Desiree didn't mind the question. "Well, I don't really know." she said. "I wasn't too involved with the war thing, I just wanted to play music." she shrugged. "Things... felt pretty normal for me, tell you the truth." she scratched the top of her head awkwardly. "Sorry if that don't really answer your question..."

Tessa smiled. "It's okay, it did answer my question actually." She smiled again. "So what type of music do you like listening to? Or play?" she asked genuinely curious.

Desiree smiled, getting a little jumpy at Tessa's question. "I'm really not too picky on music, but I grew up around rock mainly, so that'd have to be my main one." she replied cheerfully, smiling a little more. "And yourself?"

Tessa smiled back. "I've never heard rock music." she muttered, wondering what it sounded like. "The only music I've ever listened to is classical really. I like the smooth and gentleness of it." She said with a smile.

The musician Ookami stopped dead in her tracks at Tessa's response. "You've never heard rock music?" she asked her. "Never?" she sighed and sat down on the floor, taking Sara Jo out of her case. "I am playing something for you!" she stated, determined to have this girl listen to some form of rock music. Now, it wouldn't sound nearly as amazing and god like considering she didn't have an eletric guitar with her, but this would have to do.

Tessa stopped and blinked. "Really? You'll play?" She asked shocked. She was interested in hearing what rock music sounded like.

Dezzy nodded. "Yep, but keep in mind, this is just an acoustic guitar, it would sound way better with an eletric one, but I think you'll still like it." she grinned and started playing. She decided to play The Older I Get from Skillet, it wasn't too edgey, but it still had enough of a rock feel to it that she thought Tessa might enjoy. After a while, she started to sing with it. "The walls between, you and I, always pushin' us apart nothin' left but scars fight after fight," she continued singing, closing her eyes for a moment to get the magical feel she would get while doing what she loved best. She was use to playing in front of people all the time, so this wasn't something she was shy showing, not at all. It was like her lifeline, music was in her soul. Tessa listened intently with a smile spreading across her face. It was beautiful and soft like the classical, but it had words to describe the rhythm of the guitar. She could tell Desiree was designed for this. She was made for music itself.
Tessa smiled and clapped when Desiree finished. "That was wonderful!" She exclaimed happily.

"I can't believe it still hurts like this..." she finished lightly before hearing Tessa clap and compliment her. She smiled, looking more calm and peaceful than she had before playing. "Thanks." she said, standing up and putting Sara Jo back in her case. "My dad's in a rock band, so he taught me to play and sing and all that." she strapped the guitar back on her shoulder. "It's all I've really known."

Tessa smiled. "Well you're amazing at it. It's like your were born to play." She said honestly. "I liked it a lot. I wonder why my parents never showed me rock music..." She mused thinking as they continued walking down the street to the store.

Desiree laughed. "Well, if it helps clarify why, I've got a tattoo on my lower back, tried drinking and drugs at least once, and I grew up in a poor house 'cause my dad was obsessed that his band would make it big one day." she smirked a little. Of course it was all true what she had just said, but it was still funny to look back on all of that.

Tessa's eyebrows raised. "Wow really?" She asked shocked but laughing. "What is it of?" She couldn't see herself getting a tattoo, the entire idea of it terrified her, but looking at other's wouldn't be bad. She did understand now why Rock music was with-held from her. Apparently not all of it was pretty and good like the song Desiree just played.

Desiree looked around for a moment. "Well, since no one's around, guess it'd be better to show you than explain." with that she took off the guitar from her back and sat it down carefully. She then rose her shirt up just enough to see the tattoo on her lower back. It was tribal, and looked like a pair of wings in a way, definetely not something people would picture the seemingly cute and white and pink loving girl having on her skin. Oh well, she wasn't preppy by any means, she just happened to like those colors. ((OOC: Picture reference: crazy-tattoo-designs.com/lower_back_tattoo_designs_1.jpg ))
