Cross sighed in frustration. "I'm not a duelist! I barely own one card!" she said loudly. "And its nice to know that you were in a coma. That sucks. But I don't care to duel you! I just wanted to have a nice chat and drink and try to get to know someone for the first time!" She said louder.
"Freed!" She yelled. He blinked surprised slightly and nodded. She sighed and ate a cherry, followed by another. Freed came up with another one of her margaritas, and set it down. She took it and downed it. Freed stuck another one out for her, knowingly. "Now, are you going to quit accusing me of trying to friggin kill you?" She asked viciously.

"Nice to know I was in a coma eh?" Lauren raised a brow at the girl's insinuation. Cross definitely gave Lauren a creepy sort of vibe, her over the top attempts to befriend Lauren, combined with her rather aggressive demeanor had Lauren feeling rather uneasy.
Not to mention that not owning a card didn't exactly mean she'd not harbor negative feelings. There was an ancient story of a barber who had the general of an opposing army enter his shop. The two had a casual chat, until it came time for the barber to shave the opposing general's beard. Blade in head, the barber seriously contemplated slitting the generals neck. Lauren couldn't for the life of her remember how the story ended, but it did remind her she should find Akio soon, profess her love, and then get a haircut and go back to being Rex.
"I won't... outwardly express my suspicions, if that's what you mean."

Cross looked over at her as she took a drink of the sweet and salty mixture. She snorted at the last comment. "Oh that's nice, play all nice on the outside but down deep you accuse me of trying to kill you." She muttered sullenly.
She sighed trying to get rid of the yelling that she was contemplating. "You haven't missed much around here during your two months." she said, her voice emotionless.

"Haven't... missed much?" a grim look expressed itself on her face. "So then, a side has finally won the century's long war then? Which side was it?"
She looked skeptical, hoping that it wasn't her own inaction over the last two months hadn't spelled the end for her clan, and the rise of another. In any case, she mentally prepared herself for the worst possible news.

Cross shook her head. "No clan has won or lost... It's pretty much just reached a standstill. I think everyone is just tired of fighting..." She shrugged. "I haven't seen or heard of a territory duel in... well about 2 months actually."
"Everyone has become friendlier as well... Two of my best friends are in each of the clans." She said dipping a cherry in her drink and eating it, this time not with the stem. She set it to the side on the napkin where the knotted one was crumpled up in.

Lauren wasn't quite prepared for that news however. "Wh-what?" She stuttered, notably shocked. "An armistice? But how can that be?"
Lauren's first job in the war was being a medic for her clan. However, those at the head of her clan realized that considering how unleathal the game was, having a pair of hands focused entirely on being a medic was a waste, so she was sentenced to work as a foot soldier. She excelled at that as well, conquering a fair tract of land and keeping her own against various threats.
"Ugh... being in this war is all I know..." she muttered, shaking her head. If the war ended with her side winning, she could retire and be a rich aristocrat with her darling Akio. If her side lost, she could lead an underground resistance and work towards the betterment of her own side. But all three sides just casually giving up? That was... too much.
"I think I need to lie down." muttered Lauren.

Cross nodded back to a couch in the corner of the bar. "There's that... but I wouldn't lay on that if I were you." She shrugged. She honestly didn't see the big deal over the armistice as Lauren put it. Cross was happy with it actually. She could do so much more and get to actually more people now since they were all even. Since Adrian had died, she hadn't been like she used to be... She had changed that day and now she wanted to change more... but for the better.
"Just sit still in that stool and lay your head on this." She had reached over and grabbed one of the folded rags from the other side of the bar. She laid it beside Lauren. She could use it if she wanted to.

She looked at the rag. "Chlorform soaked, no doubt." she thought to herself, clearly still very suspicious of the young lady.
"Err... those look awfully unclean." she stated, looking down at the rags. "I probably just need a breathe of fresh air that's all. I mean... I've been lying down for about 2 months straight, right?" a nervous laugh as she began walking towards the door, hoping the girl would not follow.
"Besides, I have a bed back in the Tora headquarters... assuming the headquarters haven't been destroyed." She continued walking, probably giving Cross ample time to grab her or yell things at her.

Cross grabbed the rag and threw it frustrated. The one time, ONE TIME, that she tried to actually get to know someone without doing something Illegal and the chick is a crazy person! "It's nice to meet you too." She yelled to the girl as she finished her drink and another cherry. "Freed, put all of it on my tab. Her's too. I'll be back sometime later." she stood up and walked to the back door, there was no way she was going out the same door and running into that girl again.
"The one time..." She muttered picking up the rag and setting it down neatly as she reached the door.
