Keisko had sorta dressed up. Instead of her jacket and plain shirt, she wore one of her white long sleeve button up dress shirts. As always she was carrying her bag, she just couldn't leave without it.
She entered the Black Rose garden and immediately went underneath to a large tree at the center of the garden. It was massive! At least 100 years old. She smiled up at the large tree in the setting sun and took a seat between the roots. The ground and air was cool and she loved it! She placed her bag on the other side of a root and relaxed against the tree.
She smiled as she anticipated the evening before her. Matsuda was supposed to be meeting her here. The day before she had met her 'singing buddy' and after a long, fun day at the arena. While eating lunch, Matsuda had actually had Keisko blushing so much, she was the color of the cardinal that had flown by a few times already. But after a little teasing, he had asked her out and she graciously said yes. Now here she was, sitting and waiting for their date to commence. She was excited beyond measure... and nervous... this was her first date...

Matsuda jogged to the garden, a little more roughed up than the day before thanks to his dad. He wore a light blue dress shirt(long sleeved to hide the bruises he already had, plus the new ones), and a nice pair of jeans we was able to find. His hair was slightly neater than the day before, but still had that messy look to it. There was a band-aid on his right cheek from yet another fight with his father the night before. He really hoped Keisko wouldn't make a big deal about it...
He was anxious to find her, not wanting her to wait on him for too long. That would have been a bad way to start a date...
He finally found her, running over towards her, grinning. "Hey!" he said when he was close enough to her.

Keisko was humming a song when Matsuda found her. She smiled. "Hey!" She returned the greeting also noting the bandage on his cheek.
She patted the ground beside her. "Have a seat. It feels good down here." She said smiling. "Oh by the way, I like your shirt." she said smiling more. She couldn't help it...

Matsuda laughed. "Alrighty." he said, sitting next to her. He looked up, followed by closing his eyes for a moment. "You're right, it does feel nice." he grinned. It wasn't just the the area, it was just great in general hanging out with Keisko. Though this was just any hanging out.
He laughed gently. He thought back to how much she had blushed before he actually asked her out on the date. "You gonna get all red again?" he asked in a teasing way. His eyes were still closed.

Keisko chuckled. "I might..." she replied defensively with a small smile. Matsuda didn't fail to make her smile, even though she was already happy, being with Matsuda made it better.
Her smile dropped some as she instinctively reached up and touched the bandage softly. "What happened?" She whispered concerned although she had a sinking feeling she already knew.

Matsuda's eyes opened when she touched the bandage. "Er... lets just say my dad and whiskey don't mix too well..." he muttered shyly. He tried holding back a slight blush of his own.

Keisko smiled at the blush and leaned up and kissed the bandage. "There. All better." She said smiling. She knew that would really make him blush.
She sat back. "So what exactly does a date entail?" She asked seriously with a smile.

It took the older Ookami a while to recover from the kiss. His face was starting to turn pink, but began to go down as he blinked a bit, trying to think.
"Eeerr... I dunno, really." he laughed. "'Guess just go with the flow, hm?" he asked, smiling softly at her.

Keisko smiled. "I think I can live with that..." she replied.
She didn't want to bring up the conversation but she wanted to know he was okay... "How bad was it...?" She asked softly, looking up at him from under her eyelashes.

He sighed, scratching his head. "The usual. First thing I see at home is Naomi grabbing my shirt like a wild animal was chasing her. My dad came in from his room, where Mom was still in, crying. He goes after me, Naomi tries budding in, making Dad hit her around, making me get in the famous Megumi-Men fist fight with him until one of us passes out." he shrugged. Maybe he shouldn't have told her all of that...
"But I'm alright." he leaned over and kissed her forehead. "It wasn't me that passed out." he grinned.

Keisko nodded and her cheeks tinged a pink at the forehead kiss. His story wasn't one she liked to hear but she knew that it was better he told her than keep it bottled up.
"How bad were you hurt?" she whispered concerned again. She was glad that he was the one that won but she still wanted to know how bad he did get hurt.

Matsuda paused for a moment. He unwillingly pealed off the bandage half way to reveal a small gash on his cheek. After a moment he put the band-aid on again and looked at his arm.
"Glass." he explained simply. "You kind of learn to get use to it after a while, though." he said, smiling. "I'm immune to pain, just about." he said in an attempt to joke about it.

Keisko's eyes widened and she winced. "Ouch... I'm sorry." She said softly.
"So that's the worst of it...?" She whispered scared to hear if it wasn't. She didn't like seeing him hurt but she realized that was something he dealt with nearly daily.

He thought about it for a moment. "Physically, yes." he replied. "Emotionally and mentally... it gets way worse, buuut," he said, sighing as he said the word. "it's life."
Matsuda tried thinking of a way to change the topic. He moved around and put his forehead against Keisko's, looking her into her eyes. "I'll survive, though." he muttered, smiling.

The pink returned to Keisko's cheeks as he put his forehead against hers. "I'm glad you're okay." She said quietly with a small smile. Her cheeks were instinctively heating up and it wasn't her fault, her body did it... she barely noticed it!
She didn't move her head but instead opted to look at his eyes. They were a soft gray that complimented the rest of him. She smiled lightly as she looked into his eyes.
