Jack leaned against the wall of the alleyway. Swishing his left palm over his right knuckles, it was a habit he had picked up awhile ago, from who or what, he didn't remember but he did it when he was waiting and impatient.
He had managed to get a message to Matsuda a little while ago, with any luck he'd come to the alley. He seemed too nice to blow off a meeting and no one was around here at this time of day during Girls Get In Free Night at the Allure. At least no one would overhear what he had to say.
He felt like he was in a bad cop movie, where he was waiting for a gang informant to show up and spill the secrets of the drug trade or something. He always had had an overactive imagination.

Matsuda walked to the alleyway. He looked rather calm, but he was kind of curious as to why he was here. Jack had wanted to speak with him, but about what?
The blond scratched his head a little as he tried to think of reasons, but sighed and gave up when he couldn't think of any. Fortunately, that was about the time he spotted his clanmate, so he'd find out soon enough. "Hey, Jack." he called, waving. "What's up?" he asked calmly.

Jack grinned and gave a wave. Matsuda looked a lot better than he had at Freeds when he had been drowning his sorrows in drinks. "You're looking better than last time I saw you." He said, cursing himself for not figuring out how to say 'Your dead sister's actually alive' in a way that made sense.
He put on a serious face, it rarely came out of the storage bin, but he used it on the occasional time that needed no joking in it. Like right now. "Look, I'm just gonna get straight to the point. You remember what you said about your sister back at Freeds?" He asked. "Before the drinking game?" He wondered if Matsuda even remembered that night in the slightest. All four of their group had gotten drunk off their asses that night.

Matsuda smiled, only to have it fade when he saw Jack's expression. He was caught a little off guard by the following question. "Freeds?" he asked, looking back on that day. He frowned, yes he remembered, and he wish he didn't.
He looked up at Jack. "Where are you getting with this...?" he asked, gritting his teeth unknowingly. He could feel his muscles tighten up a little. Hotaru, she was what this was about? He was even more confused now, not to mention he was beginning to get a little pissed just hearing another person mention her. This better not be a joke.

Jack noted the tensing, deciding that if it got ugly Matsuda would most likely beat him to a pulp. He'd need proof, and he briefly thanked whatever deity had let Cross own a camera. "Hotaru is alive." He said bluntly. "She didn't die in that fire. A lot of people think she did, but she didn't."
He reached into his back pocket and removed a picture from his wallet, showing it to Matsuda before the elder Ookami decided to choke him. "I have proof."

Matsuda took the picture from Jack and examined it carefully. He felt himself relax slightly as he found that the girl in the picture looked more and more like his sister.
He was speechless; what could he say to that? It was an older version of what he membered of Hotaru to the smallest detail. Well, there was one big difference in the picture and what he remembered of her: she actually looked happy here.
After a few long moments he finally looked up from the picture. "How...?" he asked. He didn't know exactly what he was asking. He just wanted more of an explanation.

Jack smiled, knowing that he was out of the danger zone. "From what I know, she was saved from that fire by a boy named Greg. She had some bad burns but the doctors fixed her up and she went into the Tora clan. Greg got killed and I met her at a cemetery awhile later." He decided that an abridged version was best at this point in time. Hotaru could tell him herself all of the other details.
"She's doing alright, Matsuda. She's kinda scared about if you'll hate her or not which is why she hasn't visited." A lot can happen in four years, you know? Her words echoed through his head. If she had really been gone four years, then Matsuda must be desperate to see her again, especially after thinking she had been dead for a year or so.

Matsuda stood silent for a while, taking everything in. She was alive? After all these years of worrying, his little sister was still out there, walking around this city?
He leaned against the wall for some support, fearing he might fall at any moment from shock. He really wasn't sure how to feel. He had missed her, of course, but...
But what? He missed Hotaru, that's all there was to it. "I want to see her." he told Jack, trying to get out of shock.

Jack was a little startled by Matsuda's half-collapse, but grinned at his desire to see his sister. "Alright, I'll take you to her house." He knew the way, and he had promised to Hotaru that he'd drag her brother over by the ear if necessary. Luckily he was coming willingly, he just hoped Hotaru was ready to see her brother again.
"You know that you can't tell anyone else unless she gives the okay, right?" He asked, Matsuda knew she had been in a gang so he probably knew that if the cops found out things would get hairy.

The blond nodded slowly. "Y, yeah, of course." he replied. "I won't tell."
He stood up straight again and ran his hands through his hair after returning the picture to Jack. "I still can't believe she's... here." he muttered. Matsuda felt a something being lifted off his shoulders. All these years he had felt guilty for not being able to stop her from going into the gang. Now, not only was she alive, but she was finally in the clans now, instead? Things were finally starting to turn up in his life.
The blond blinked a few times at a thought. "Hey... why do you have her picture in your wallet anyway...?" he asked. He wasn't paying attention to the entire picture when looking at it, just Hotaru. If there was something he had missed he wanted to know.

Jack did nothing but smile while Matsuda took it all in. Though he blushed a little at the question. "Uh... well... she's my girlfriend..." He said quietly, averting his eyes from Matsuda's face. He knew what his own reaction would be to Tekka getting a boyfriend, so he was sort of expecting the worst.
"We should get going." He said quickly, trying to change the topic.

Matsuda was once again caught off guard by the reply. She was dating? 'Guess I'll have to get used to it, she's not a little kid anymore.' he thought to himself. He wasn't too sure if he should make some kind of 'hurt my sister and die' kind of threat. It was sad, but Jack probably knew more about her than he did at this point in time. Plus, it was obvious the younger Ookami was trying to avoid something like that. With this thought in mind, he shrugged it off, though he did make a mental note to keep an eye on the two if he saw them together.
"How has she been?" he asked, wanting to get caught up a little more before seeing her.

Jack shrugged, glad that the matter wasn't pursued. "Alright. She's got her own place and has a lot of people around to help if anything happens." He thought back on the ever-growing list. He'd help, and so would Tekka, Cross, and everyone else, like that Kage guy or the girl with the tiger, Lilia. Tekka had babbled endlessly about that day at the park. "She's pretty happy actually. But she misses you." He added on.
Jack was positive that Hotaru would want to see Matsuda ASAP, and the Ookami certainly wasn't going to go back on a promise.

Matsuda grinned a little. It was good to hear that sort of stuff at the moment. "That's good." he said, nodding slightly.
He looked around them for a moment. "Where's she staying at, then?" he asked, eager to see her.

"She's at the residential sector, it's not too far away." Jack grinned and beckoned Matsuda forward. "C'mon, we'll be there pretty quick, and we'll be there even quicker if you run." Jack stepped out of the alleyway and into the relatively clean air of downtown Hatsu Itonami.
