Yukiko Oshiro sat in the hospital waiting room, once again dealing with her share of aches and pains. The green-eyed teen briefly eyed her right wrist, which was currently draped ever-so-gently on her thigh. The sleeve from her hoodie was rolled up, revealing the lazily wrapped semi-bandage that was wound around her forearm. Normally Yukiko would have left her injury to heal after that, but this one seemed deeper than most of her other easily gained cuts and bruises. She didn't want it to get infected and start oozing puss like her knee did when she was seven.
It didn't seem too long ago that Yukiko had been in here for yet another one of her clumsy mistakes, tripping down a dark flight of stairs and spraining her wrist. Silently she wondered if there would be any familiar faces here this time around. But by this rate, she could die of blood loss in the waiting room before anyone even showed up...

Keisko had been called in one morning so with a slight smile, she set off to work. When she got there, she noticed the Emergency Room was backed. With a collected sigh before he day's work, she grabbed a chart and called the name.
"Yukiko Oshiro?" Keisko's smile widened as she recognized the name.

Yukiko's head darted up at the sound of her name. The voice sounded a bit familar... She stood, immediatly spotting Keisko and identifying her as the speaker.
"Over here." She replied softly, striding over to Keisko. She clutched her arm tightly the entire time.

Keisko smiled. "What happened?" She asked leading the young girl away from the waiting room and into a room.

Yukiko rubbed her arm meekly before replying, slight shame apparent in her eyes. "I tripped down yet another dark staircase." She sighed softly. "Only this time there was... stuff at the bottom."

Keisko nodded and led her to the crackling paper aka the bed. She then went to the counter and grabbed some disinfectant and gauze, she returned to Yuki and poured some of the solution on the gauze. "Now I warn you this will sting..." She said before pressing the gauze to the her bloody wrist. "So what type of stuff was at the bottom of these stairs?" She asked, cleaning the wound.

Despite being warned before hand, Yukiko winced at the disinfectant's touch. But she kept still, managing a reply to Keisko's question.
"Honestly, a lot of stuff. I was visiting my brothers, and they're not that tidy." She smiled weakly. "Mostly tools and wires... I think that's what this is from." She motioned her her forearm.

"Ah... I see..." She smiled and finished cleaning the wound. "If you will... hold this here..." she said meaning the gauze.

Yukiko blinked and then nodded, using her free arm to hold the gauze in place as Keisko wrapped it around the wound. A brief pause came and went before Yukiko spoke again. She didn't like silence, so she decided to fill it with innocent conversation.
"So you work at the hospital then?" She asked curiously.

Keisko smiled and nodded, bandaging the young girl's arm. "Part time. It's quite a change from the war... I like it here... I get to help people... all people..." She said finishing the wrapping for the bandage.
She then turned her attention to her patient's wrist. "Where exactly does it hurt?" She asked before she started probing at it.

"Probably the same spot as last time..." Yukiko mumbled to herself, recalling her previous encounter with a dark staircase. That had resulted in her spraining her wrist and winding up in a very similar situation, though she had gotten and friend and a duel out of the mishap- so in a way it had balanced out...
"Uh, probably dead center." Yukiko told Keisko quickly, not wanting to get caught up in her thoughts again. That would undoubtedly lead to a long silence on her part. A long, unwanted silence... Yukiko thought about the other thing Keisko had said.
"I suppose everyone needs a break from the war." She thought aloud. "I haven't fought much at all and I'm sick of it already..."

Keisko nodded and started to move the girls wrist, feeling the small sprain in it. "It's not that bad... I'm going to wrap it up and you just need to try not to use it that often... and I'll see about getting you some pain killers." She gently set Yukiko's wrist down and went to grab the wrap, then returning.
"Honestly, I don't think many people have dueled... it's all kind of slow right now... I have a feeling that we all might have someting in common with one another..." She trailed off, still gently wrapping her wrist up.

Yukiko didn't reply outloud, merely nodding in agreement with Keisko's statement. It was true in her eyes; dueling didn't seem like an all-out thing at the moment. Plus, people (at least in her opinion) seemed to be making friends easily enough...
"Well that's hopeful at least." She commented after a long pause.

Keisko nodded and finished up with the wrapping. "Now we just need to see about getting you some bandages and more wrap. Do you want a prescription for a painkiller?" She asked.

Yukiko wiggled her fingers experimentally and stopped a moment to think over the question. "Yes I suppose." She figured at last. "Just in case..."
