Cross threw her head back and laughed then quickly turned Gracie around, chasing Jack at full gallop. She quickly caught up and tapped his shoulder, then Cross veered the horse to the right, away from Jack. "Tag!" she yelled back laughing, Gracie galloping away swiftly.

Jack wasn't able to make quite so graceful a turn and ended up clinging to the horse to avoid falling off. And laughing, there was a lot of laughing involved. He heaved himself back into the saddle and charged after the girl. Almost catching up with her before she eluded him.
This process repeated several times and Jack had the distinct impression he was being toyed with. Huh. Who'da thunk it?

"Come on Jackie! You gotta control the horse!" She yelled laughing as he kept falling back and catching up then falling back again. "You know, I think this is more amusing than you falling out of the tree!" She yelled speeding up again and turning around a tree going the opposite direction.

Jack spotted his chance and leaned over a bit, getting Sky to come with him so he didn't fall over again. He managed to tap her shoulder as she came his way. "You're it again!" He grinned, slowing down to a canter to figure out which way to head next before getting sucker-punched by a tree branch and falling off his horse.
He lay on the ground with a distinct pain on his everywhere.

Cross laughed as he tagged her but as she was turning around, she noticed him hit the ground, then noticed the branch. Slowing Gracie, she hopped off her, pulling the reins and running to Jack. She grabbed Sky who was starting to trot away and tied the two horses together around the tree. Then she went to her knees beside Jack. "Jackie?" she asked genuinely worried for once in her life. "Hey, you okay?"

Jack sat up and held his head. "Did somebody get the number of that semi?" He asked woozily with a slight grin. That grin never seemed to leave his face, it was always there.
He blinked. He wasn't seeing double, but his eyes hurt. His gut did too. Come to think of it, so did the rest of him.

Cross couldn't help but laugh. She then helped him lean against the tree. "I have found the cuplrtit of your hit and run!" She exclamied gesturing to the tree. "Rule number one, watch your surroundings."

He blinked. "I thought rule number one was don't fall off the horse." He leaned against the tree and knocked his fist against it. "That'll learn ya." He muttered to it with a laugh. Everything seemed funny when you were mildly out of it. Weird...

Cross chuckled grinning. "No, that's the assumed rule that was never really put to a number. And it's "That'll teach ya", I think the tree gets a point for that one." She held up her hand in front of him. "How many fingers am I holding up?" She asked grinning.

Jack looked at her hand and was about to speak before stopping and considering something. He started again. "That depends, if you say the thumb is a finger, then two. If not, then one."
He began to hum the Jeopardy Theme as he waited for her response.

Cross chuckled. "Alright, your good!" She said grinning and putting away her gun fingers. "Now tell me something, how do you manage not to see a branch?" She asked grinning.

Jack rolled his eyes. "Easy, shut your eyes." He leveled her a joking look. "Really Cross, you should know that one." He knew exactly what she meant though and gave a shrug. "I was turning to taunt you and I guess the tree decided it had a personal vendetta against me or something."

Cross shook her head chuckling. "Nice move, I think trees have something against you." She said grinning. She then stood up and held out a hand. "Gotta get back up on the horse or you'll never learn." She said smiling at the phrase.

Jack took her hand and pulled himself up, resisting the urge to wince and the pain in his gut. A few moments later he was back up on sky's back. "By the way," He called as Sky began to move again. "You're still it!"
With that, the horse surged forward, giving Jack a good head-start on Cross and Gracie.

Cross scowled and quickly hopped up on Gracie, racing after Jack. Right as she got up beside his horse, she tapped him on the shoulder and continued to speed up as the fench rushed upon them. She looked back at Jack, grinned and sped Gracie up. The fence was rushing closer faster and faster by the second. What would Jack do...?
