"Mommy," a little black haired girl asked. "who'd ya say was comin' over?"
Madoka Mizu, now 33 years old, smiled as she pulled a hair band onto her daughter's head. "Mommy's got a friend that she hasn't seen in a long time." She fixed some loose strands of hair and kissed the girl's forehead. "And I hear she's got a little boy your age for you to play with too."
Marriette Mizu's bright blue eyes lit up in excitement. "I get a new friend?!" She exclaimed. That meant someone new to play games with! She would show him her toys, but boys don't like girl toys so he probably wouldn't like that too much.
Madoka giggled and nodded her head. "Yep! They should be here any minute now." She glanced over at the door, keeping her own excitement over seeing Tekka once again to herself for the moment. Tekka had called her one day after apparently coming back to the city after so long. She couldn't wait to see her, they had SO much to catch up on!!

"Mama, are we there yet?" Jazz asked, swinging his hand in his mother's own. Tekka had told her son about Madoka and her daughter, and the little blond boy was anxious to get to their house to meet them.
Tekka laughed a little. "Yeah, actually we are." She said as she led Jazz up to the door of the house. Her hand raised to press the doorbell only to be stopped by a tugging on her shirt.
Jazz bounced up and down as he tugged, trying to get her attention. "Mama! Mama you said I could push it!" He whined, lip stuck out in a pout only for him to be scooped up with a laugh to push the doorbell. Tekka smiled and kissed his cheek.
"Like I'd forget?" She said as she put him back on the ground to wait for the answer.

As the door bell rang Marri hopped up to her feet. "They're here Mommy, they're here!" She ran to the door and opened the door as her mother came over.
The brunette chuckled as she opened the door fully, looking from her daughter up to the blonde woman in front of her. "Tekka!" She exclaimed as she smiled wide, almost instantly grabbing her for a hug. Goodness it had been WAY too long in Doka's opinion, she missed her friend!

"Doka!" Tekka crowed, returning the hug with enough vigor to lift the other woman off of her feet. "How've you BEEN?" She placed the brunette down after a second and then glanced further into the house. "And THIS must be Marri, right?"
Jazz, too impatient to wait for introductions rushed in past his mother's legs. She had SAID there was a girl around his age here, and here she was! "Hi!" He chirped as he got close and smiled. "I'm Jazz!"

Marri giggled and waved at Jazz, rocking back and forth on her feet. "I'm Marri! Ya wanna play, Jazz?"
"Hold on a sec," Madoka said, smiling as she held her daughter's shoulders. "You know Mommy's friend Aiden? This is his sister Tekka, say hi and you can go play."
Marri looked up at the woman and waved again. "Hi~!" She sang quickly before looking back up at her mother anxiously. "Can we go play now?"
Doka just giggled and tool a few steps back to give Tekka and Jazz space to come inside. "Yes, you can play now." She nodded her head, inviting the two blondes to come inside. "Come in, we've got a lot to talk about."

"Oh, YES we DO." Tekka agreed, first thing was first. As soon as the kids had darted off and the pair of women had sat on the couch she blurted out her question. "WHEN did you get a kid?" She asked, grin positively bursting out the sides of her face.
Jazz, meanwhile, was following Mari around the house. "So whatcha wanna play?" He asked, smiling brightly at his new friend. He didn't get why some boys didn't like girls, Mama and Becca were girls, and they were two of the best (and coolest) people he knew.

Madoka laughed a little. "Looks like around the time you did." She said, thinking back to when she first found out she was pregnant. "I had a boyfriend for a while, apparently he had commitment issues and left me after I told him I was pregnant." She sighed. "It was hard at first, but we're doin' good now, she's a great kid." She raised an eyebrow at the blonde. "Alright, now you're turn."
Marri went into her playroom, she figured that would be the place they would stay in since Mommy didn't like her room getting too messy. "I got lotsa stuff in here!" There was a little table with coloring books and the originally white walls were covered in dried painting and handprints she and her mother had done. She pointed to a toy box on the other side. "There's toys in there, ya like Legos?" A lot of her toys were dolls and stuffed animals, stuff boys don't like, but she had a LOT of Legos they could build with!

Tekka laughed. "Yeah, probably about right... And she seems like it, polite and cute as anything i've ever seen~" A smile at the thought. Tekka HAD seen plenty of cute things over the years. Mari was top-notch on the cute-o-meter, right up there with Jazz. "As for me, I was drunk, had a fling..." She shrugged. "Didn't have the money to abort, got some help to deal with the pregnancy though..." She smiled. "I think that was the first time I had a real JOB, too... But I went back to thievery after Jazz was old enough to walk and talk."
Jazz gasped. "You got LEGOS?" He squealed, excited. He didn't get to play with legos a lot in the past, they always got lost in transit. He DID have a few stuffed animals, but he hadn't brought them today because they still were a little tired from the trip. He understood, they looked out for him while he slept so they snoozed in the day. Like Becca when she rigged up surveillance footage.
"Let's build a HUGE fort!" He exclaimed, arms shooting out and up to emphasize how big they needed to make it. Heck, they could make a great fort with even MORE than just legos... if Mari wanted to and if it wouldn't get them in trouble, that was...
Jazz didn't usually get into trouble though. He was good at not getting caught.

Madoka smiled. "Well he's definitely a little cutie too." She wasn't just saying it because Tekka had said the same about her daughter, Jazz really was adorable.
Her expression shifted to a more curious look. "Alright, so tell me, how'd you manage to slip through the system for so long?" It wasn't like she'd try, she only had two or so years before she was free of the clans, but she still wanted to know how Tekka had done it.
Marri's eyes lit up and her smile grew ear-to-ear as she nodded quickly. "Yeah! A fort!" She cheered, running over to grab her bag of legos. She pushed the bag over and let the legos spill out on the floor. "We're gonna make the biggest fort ever!" She giggled as she sat down and started connecting the pieces together.

Tekka shook her head. "Hacking and sneaking and a WHOLE lot of luck, 'Doka..." She half-laughed out. "I got the code cracked, the tracer blocked... and it worked, it worked and then they managed to COUNTER it, years later..." She smiled ruefully. "I'm not even important, there's no reason for them to want me back, but I guess being 'the one that got away' is probably big for them..."
Jazz nearly threw himself onto the floor to join her, a huge beaming grin on his face as he started clicking together the pieces. "Forts have princesses and knights and stuff, right?" He asked, castles and forts were almost the same thing, back when they were built at least. Or at least that was what becca said.

Madoka laughed, shrugging a little. "Well, I'm glad you're back either way, I missed ya you know." Things were just... different without the blonde around. Not boring really, having a kid kinda made things less of the boring side after all. "And as a plus, our kids get new friends." She could hear them slightly down the hall. Not well enough to know what they were really saying, but she could tell they were having fun.
Marri nodded quickly, still putting pieces together. "Yeah, I see 'em all the time in the books my Mommy reads to me." The princesses were always so pretty and there was always a knight in shiny armor that saved her and they lived happily ever after! Her eyes brightened and she looked over at her new friend. "I wanna be the princess!!" She exclaimed gleefully. Mommy DID always say she was a princess.

Tekka laughed, the sound bright and loud. "Likewise, and thank GOODNESS. I was afraid Jazz was going to get problems, there were no kids quite his age that we were able to stick around long." She was worried the kid was going to have abandonment issues, having to leave friends so quick. Thankfully, that wouldn't happen again now that they were stuck in Hatsu Itonami.
Jazz grinned and jumped up. "I get to be a knight!" He exclaimed, picking up a sword he had fashioned out of legos to swing it a little. "I'll keep the dragon away from the princess!"

Madoka nodded. "Well it doesn't look like that's bothering him at all." She said with a smile. The brunette paused for a second and smiled a little more. "So I heard you've got two others you didn't bring here with you, what's up with them?"
Marri's eyes widen at a realization and ran over to her toy box, pulling out a plastic tiara from the top. She pulled the hair band off her head and replaced it with the tiny crown. The dark haired girl did a quick spin before hopping back over to Jazz, giggling. "NOW I'm a real princess!" Princesses needed their tiara, or else it didn't count. She pointed over to a stuffed dragon she just happened to have sitting along the corner of the room. "There's the dragon!" She exclaimed, attempting to look scared for the sake of the game.

Tekka leaned back in her chair and let out a small huff of air. "That is a REALLY good question... Rebecca Vaughn, a hacker and techno-geek with a really REALLY weird talent for being dangerous to fight." She frowned a bit. "And Kaz, we gave him the last name Willow because that's where we found him: Willow Street. I don't think he had much of a family before us, but he doesn't talk and he probably wouldn't tell anything about before even if he COULD..."
Tekka shrugged. "And that's about it. Both of them have their secrets that they don't dare to part with, and I know when not to pry... They'll loosen up a bit around kids their own age, I'm sure. Calm down, relax, unwind..." Another smile. "Maybe even finally tell someone what happened to them."
Jazz, while Mari slipped on her tiara, donned a red blanket. It had some fuzzies on it but as he tied it around his neck he knew it was PERFECT for being a hero. And knights were BASICALLY heroes, so said Kaz. "I'll save you, Princess!" He yelled as he spun to run at the 'vicious beast.' He bapped it with his lego sword and the plush only offered a faint squeak of protest.

The brunette frowned just a little as she listened to her friend, and idea popping in her head. "Doesn't talk? You think I could meet him some time?" Tekka was sure to remember when SHE had been mute, if anything she'd like to meet the boy at least for the sake of seeing how he did it.
Marri watched as Jazz went to slay the dragon. She threw her arms up in the air as it squeaked. "You got it!!" She cheered, hopping up and down hyperly.
