Memories of when Matsuda was a kid flooded Yutaka's mind as he played. Skillet had been his son's favorite because he had sang him their songs every night before he went to bed, well, before he started drinking. The guilt had been eating at him this whole time, and playing a song that reminded him of Matsu was only making it worse.
Yutaka figured he'd save the emotions for later as he turned to face Jack once the song was finished, rubbing the back of his neck a little as he still wasn't too sure how to act around the brunette. "Thank you, I'm a lot better at guitar though..." Guitar had been what he loved playing from the start, you could move around more and overall just have more fun with it.
"So... anything else I need to prove my worth?" For the job, to patch things up, he was really up for anything right now. Anything that could help make the situation better he wanted to do.

As much as Jack didn't like the guy, he couldn't deny that the man had talent with music, and hopefully that would lead to more time for Jack to get things accomplished... Aside from personal bias, he realized, there really wasn't a reason to not give him the job... and that thought made him both a little disappointed in himself for even looking for a way out and a little angry for not being able to give into his urge to shove Yutaka out.
"For the job," Jack clarified, "no. You have nothing you need to prove other than being capable with kids of varying ages."
There was a beat of silence.
"As for Ruru..." he folded his arms across his chest, "I doubt she'll want much of anything to do with you. I can pass the word along you're around, but she is NOT going to be happy..."

The older man nodded. "Yes, I know that.. I was actually going to ease my way in to mentioning her." He sighed, this wasn't the part of the conversation he was looking forward to. Yutaka wanted to see his daughter, really, but he knew that it was going to be the hardest part in all of this. Unfortunately she was a lot like himself, he realized that after seeing the look in her eyes the day they had come barging in.
"... How is she doing?" He asked after a long pause. There were so many questions he wanted to ask about her, but he wasn't sure where he should start and decided that that simple questions would have to do for the time being.
