Perri and Karina walked into the restaurant with their bags in tow, unfortunately neither of the two had a car and were stuck with walking, so the bags came with. "Table for two, with room for this," she told the hostess, nodding down at their multitude of bags, well Perri had the most of course. The hostess nodded and guided them to a large corner booth.
Perri put her bags in on her side and then slid in, relieved that she didn't have to carry them for a while. "Thank god, food." she said as she was handed a menu." The waitress came and took the two girls' order for drinks and was gone moments later.
Perri looked up from the menu to grin at Karina. "Did I wear you out?" she asked, mostly teasingly.

Karina sighed in relief as she finally got to sit down. She looked up from her menu at Perri and shrugged a little. "It'd certainly something I wasn't really use to, that's for sure." She replied. "Daddy and Papa didn't really take me and my sister shopping all that much unless it was something we really needed." She realized she hadn't told Perri about the whole two dads things, but at this point she was pretty comfortable with the other teen to not freak out over it. Besides, she loved Kris and Jake.

Perri's eyes widened as she caught the mention of the two dads. "You have two dads?" She asked, dumbfounded. A gay couple wasn't a big thing, but it was a surprise to find out someone had gay parents, not in a bad way though. "I'll be damned." she muttered shaking her head.
"How was it growing up with them?" she asked curiously. She'd never had a dad, the closest she had to a father figure was probably Aiden. Here Perri was with no father and Karina had two.

Karina shrugged a shoulder. "It's not bad. Personality wise Jake's more of the father type out of the two, and Kris is a tad more on the feminine side." She laughed a little, Kris wasn't exactly flaming, but if you talked to him for more than five minutes, you could definitely see the difference between him and someone a little straighter. "But they're easy to get along with, I love them both to death." She smiled fondly.

Perri couldn't help but feel a little uncomfortable with the talk of dad's, as much as she hated to admit it to herself. She could come to terms with her father being dead but hearing that Karina had two fathers where she had none... something about it just hit her wrong. "That's cool." she replied flippantly.
Luckily she didn't have to worry about changing the topic herself as the waitress came to the table. Perri ordered a burger and fries, one of her favorites, and waited as Karina's order was taken.

Karina ordered the same thing and the waitress went off on her way. When she turned back to Perri she remembered that her own father had passed away. With this in mind she decided she should change the topic a little. "So you said you have a brother right? What's he like?" She wasn't sure if that was a better topic or not, but at least it was different.

Perri snorted and rolled her eyes. "We're actually twins and Roman is a huge pain in the ass... but he's not always bad, I mean, it could be worse. I just get tired of him trying to play the father figure." she replied, shrugging slightly. She took a sip of her drink and sat back. "You've gotta sister, how old is she?" she asked figuring she'd volley the question back a bit.

Karina shrugged a little. "At least he looks out for you." She perked up at the mention of her sister and smiled a little more. "Merry's thirteen." she replied happily. "This is her first year in the dorms, so I asked to switch over to room with her. Makes things a lot easier when it comes to watching her." Not to mention making sure she takes her medication, but that would be left unsaid for now.

Perri's eyebrows rose. "Wow, thirteen... I don't think I could deal with that if I were in your shoes. I'd go crazy... but then again, I'm not a mothering type like you, not in the least. I guess it's... admirable, that you watch over her." she replied honestly. It really looked like Karina loved her little sister, Perri could tell just by her smile.

The white haired girl rose an eyebrow at Perri. "You're never letting that mother comment go, are you?" She teased before going back to the topic. "And well, she's the only blood I have left, I've been watching her since we were little." It was all she knew really, even before they had been put into their first foster home Karina had always looked after Merry. She couldn't imagine just leaving her alone, it was impossible.

Perri chuckled and shook her head. "It's my go-to descriptor slash teasing comment." she replied, shrugging lightly. "That's good, sweet even." she added to her reply. "Does she have the whole white haired thing going on too?" she asked, waving her hand to gesture to the general vicinity of Karina's hair.

Karina nodded in reply. "Yep, got herself a full set of long white hair." she ran a hand through her own snow colored locks at the mention of it, even though it was just a short little mess. "Maybe you could meet her some time if you want." It was just a suggestion, but she really would like Perri to meet her at some point, especially if they were going to be good friends like she hoped..

Perri nodded in return. "Sometime later for sure, it's not often I meet younger kids, I try to stay away from them usually, but I'll make an exception this time." she replied, smiling a little. Oddly enough Perri felt the need to make Karina happy, it wasn't something she'd admit to, but it was there.

Karina clasped her hands together in delight. "Great! She'd love to meet you!" she exclaimed, thrilled. "She's a sweetheart, maybe a little shy to some people, but I think you'll like her." It was hard NOT to like Merry, and she wasn't just saying that because it was her sister she was talking about.

Perri couldn't help the genuine smile that came to her face at Karina's excitement. "If you say so then I'm sure I will." she replied, chuckling lightly at Karina's exuberance. Before she could say anything else the waitress came to the table with their food. Perri's smile spread. "Thank god, food!" she immediately tore into her burger.
