Hajime had thought to arrive at the restaurant a little bit before the lunch rush would pick up, something he was incredibly happy with given the results. There had been no wait, and he and his brother had been seated straight away. Hajime peered over the menu at his brother's face. Today was his treat; he and Shinji hadn't really had the chance to sit down and talk in quite awhile (seeing as his energetic little brother was always out doing things), and he wanted to catch up a bit.

When Hajime had told Shinji that he was going to take him to eat, the younger of the brothers didn't hesitate to go along with it. It had been a while since he had gotten to actually go OUT to eat. The food at the dorms was alright, and he loved his mom's cooking, but he loved going to the restaurant for some reason. The food just seemed fancier to him that way.
Shinji sat across from his brother and started looking at the menu, kicking his legs underneath him. He looked up at saw his brother looking at him and smiled, somehow being able to see him perfectly through his over grown blue locks that he mother had been TRYING to get him to cut with no success. "So what'cha been up to, Bro?" he asked loudly, not noticing just how loud his voice tended to be when he didn't pay attention.

"Violin and school mostly." The green-haired Nakamura closed the menu and set it aside. "And going help to help Ma out when I can." He shrugged. "You know I don't get out much." There was a pause, and then he added, "Honestly, I want to hear what's going on with you. You know... the social one in the family."

"Pffft," laughed Shinji as he tossed his menu down on the table too. "You can be just as social if ya try! With our hair we could both stand out if we wanted to." he grinned before thinking about what story to tell his brother this time.
"Well, I got stuck in a tree again." he started, holding a finger up to stop Hajime before he said anything. "And I'll have you know I was helping some old lady get her cat." he pouted. "The stupid thing knew how to get out after all! Next thing you know I slipped a little and the next thing you know I'm dangling on a branch upside down!" He folded his arms. over his chest and grinned again. "On the upside, the guy I fell on top of cushioned my landing, so everything worked out." It certainly wasn't any of his bigger adventures, but not much had been going on lately, it was weird.

Hajime smirked. That sounded like his little brother alright. "Worked out for you maybe, but I doubt the other guy felt the same way." He chuckled to himself as their waiter made his way over to the table. "Mountain Dew and a steak burger for me," the green-haired youth said when asked for his order. He had the same thing almost every time they ate here, but he knew what he liked.

Shinji looked up at the waiter after Hajime made his order. "I'll have a Pepsi and chicken strips!" he announced happily. The waiter wrote down their orders and nodded before walking off.
The younger of the brothers looked back at the green haired teen and tilted his head. "So when did ya last drop by Mom and Dad's?" he asked, kicking his legs under his seat once again.

"Not too long ago, actually. I wanted to help Mom out with some stuff. Although I don't think she needs as much help now that we're both in the dorms." He shrugged. It was pretty apparent that Hajime was quite attached to his mother. He had been ever since he was little. "She asked about you, you know. Wants to make sure you're doing your homework and behaving yourself." The Tora smirked. He was teasing Shinji a bit but, as an older brother, it was his divine right to do so.

Shinji stuck his tongue out at his brother. "Tell Mom I'm fiiiine!" he sighed, waving his hand out. "I'm passing my classes..." except for math, he was never really good with numbers. He laughed and scratched his head a little.
"As far as behaving, she worries too much." And she did. Shinjiro loved his mother to bits, but she always... well, mothered them too much. Now that he thought about it, it was kinda her job, but there were good medians he thought.

"I don't think telling her will make much of a difference," the older Tora laughed. "You're the baby of the family after all. She has to worry about you." Their dad, on the other hand, didn't seem to share his wife's concern. At least not to an extreme extent. He was a bit more relaxed when it came to academics and behavior, probably because he had never been the scholarly type himself.

Shinji rolled his eyes and sighed. "Yeah yeah, I know." he agreed. "Still, it wouldn't kill her to..." he shrugged. "Chill a bit, ya know?" Mom was always onto them about school, or making sure they were being 'good' kids. Which, he guessed was reasonable, but she had to let them do their own thing every now and then, right? Things were more fun that way!

"It's mom. This is just what she does." Hajime smirked again, resting his chin against his fist. "Besides, I doubt it'll stop you from doing what you want. It never has before." Shinji wasn't nearly as much of a mama's boy as his brother was.

Shinji grinned wide. "'Course not, no one can stop me!" he laughed. "Sooo, tell me about what's going on with you Hajime, there's not a girl you got your eye on or anything?" His brother needed a life outside of helping the family and the violin! That was all fine and all, but there was more to life than THAT! Heck, he was 13 and he could tell him that!

Hajime shifted his eyes to the side and coughed awkwardly. "Er... No, not really." He couldn't help but feel a little sad. Shouldn't most people have had a girlfriend by his age? Then again, a lot of people (including girls) seemed to be kind of scared of him. That made dating a little difficult.

Shinji's eyes widen and he threw his arms up. "Dude, c'mon!" he exclaimed. "You've gotta do something about this whole scary thing you got goin' on, you need SOMEONE to hang out with other than me and Mom and Dad!" Seriously, Shinji had his own little group of friends and he knew their parents had their own friends of older people, it was time Hajime had someone to hang out with.

"I know," Hajime groaned, half tempted to slam his forehead into the table. "But if I knew how to fix it I would. I can't exactly shrink myself or anything." Mother nature had just decided to make him look as intimidating as possible. It wasn't something he couldn't really alter without something like, say, plastic surgery.
