Greg laughed a little. "Yeah, guess I'll do that then." It wasn't like he hadn't tried that before, but he wasn't going to dis Jack's suggestion, it was rude.
Hotaru glanced up at the two boys every now and then to try and catch what they were talking about. She was curious, but she wasn't going to throw herself into the conversation. After a while of trying to figure it out she sighed an picked up the pace just enough to start walking beside them. She looked over at Jack for a moment and finally decided to ask. "So, what happened to ya?" her voice seemed a little dull and uninterested, but Greg always said she should work on her people skills.

Jack was honestly a little surprised the redhead was talking to him after the display from earlier... but everyone got curious, he supposed. "Well," He said, "I'm pretty sure I got jumped by Kuma's, but a few of these are from my brother." It was the truth, and he tried not to lie.

Hotaru rose a brow at the comment about the Ookami's brother. "Really now?" she looked over at Greg. "Now who does that sound like, Bennson?" she asked him.
Greg sighed and tried to ignore the question, Eva and himself were two of his own brother's favorite punching bags. So was Hotaru for a while, but being the fastest out of them it got easier for her to start dodging.
Still, he wanted to overlook that detail and went a different way into the conversation. "Looks like they got ya pretty good, and if it was Kuma's that means the theater's their territory now?" He asked to clarify. The last part was really more of an attempt to point it out to Hotaru as smooth as possible so Jack wouldn't notice. They needed info like this if they wanted to prove to be better than the clans.

Jack shrugged. "Probably." He winced as his ribs sent a shock of pain through him as if to remind him that he shouldn't be moving much right now. "I don't usually keep up with it though, but I'm not high-up enough to just be randomly attacked by Kumas on Tora territory..." The stronger you were the more likely it was that you would be attacked out of the blue. Getting rid of the best fighters usually proved to be instrumental in the seizing of territory.

Greg grinned a little. "Sounds reasonable to me." He said, trying to lighten up the mood as usual. A though struck him that maybe Jack wasn't really the smartest in the bunch if he was willingly talking to a couple of gang kids and NOT acting on the suspicious side. Did he think they were some of those rich kids whose parents bought them out? Their clothes didn't really scream 'money', in fact they were both pretty dirty(the one or two sets of clothes they owned unfortunately couldn't get washed on a daily basis).

Jack honestly wasn't stupid enough to keep thinking these two were a couple of rich kids, but they were helping him instead of kicking the shit out of him and robbing him. That earned enough of his trust so that he didn't care if they were runaways or not. "So, not ta sound like a spy 're anything, but how'd you two get out of conscription? I got a lil sister I need to stay out of 'em, so..." He trailed off.

Greg bit his lips, trying NOT to look back at Boss for an answer for this. She was silent, carrying out her 'if we're caught it's on you' threat like she said she would. "It's complicated." he finally said. "Something tells me it'd be better for your sister to go along with the clan thing, it looks nice..." he murmured the last three words quietly. He was secretly jealous of the clanspeople. They had real homes and food for them, and there wasn't nearly as much stress with a place like that to go to from the looks of it. He swore, the moment he finally got a backbone and left the gang he'd turn himself in and get drafted, but he seriously doubted that would happen. It was a nice thought though.

Jack shook his head. "Nah, she'd be pretty badly off..." He frowned. "Knowing her luck she'll be drafted into Kuma or Tora, and with my brother and I in Ookami I can't imagine her lasting all that long..." Tekka was quick (with faster fingers than he thought possible) but in a fight she was pretty useless. And knowing Aiden he'd take advantage of the civil war to attack her whenever he could. Until Tekka proved her worth, Jack doubted that anyone in Tora would look out for her...
He'd put money on her being dead in a week.

Hotaru scowled a little and spoke. "She probably wouldn't last any longer if she went our way either." she snapped. Of course, the redhead herself didn't have much room to talk considering how she was at first, but her situation was a little different(at least she thought so). Home for her wasn't really an option, so it was either starve on the street, or learn to toughen up. And she had.
Greg frowned and looked at Jack. "Trust me, Jack, if you care about your sister you don't want this sorta thing for her." He was a hundred percent certain on that one.

Jack sighed. "If you say so... Though she's already got the sticky fingers of street life down." He cracked a wry grin. If he ever caught the guy that taught his little sister how to steal, he was going to punch him in the face. Tekka was well on her way to being a kleptomaniac...
