Locke hadn't completely fled the scene after leaving; she'd just jumped onto the roof. The albino stood there, arms outstretched and trying to enjoy the cool air. Normally, such a thing would calm her down. It was like gliding without having to go through the trouble of doing so - the wind in her snowy hair (albeit not quite as strong as she usually liked, but Locke wasn't in the mood for thrills), the view of everything below... Locke just liked being up high. It was a place where she could forget about all the times she'd tried to get close to people and failed.

Mina sighed and began walking around to the side of the building. The range was almost home to her, and while she had needed some air she was positive she wasn't going to be able to think too far away from there. She'd just get distracted and avoid the thoughts she needed to think so up the ladder to the roof she went.
She almost lost her grip upon spotting Locke up there as well. The elder Tora sighed again, pulling herself up onto the roof and getting up the guts to speak.

Locke was by this point almost completely oblivious to anything else around her. She was facing away from the ladder she'd seen on one side of the building (she hadn't needed it, of course), so anyone coming up that way would be seeing the back of the albino. Not that the busty Tora had actually thought about her current pose, but said people coming up might also believe it to be one similar to the pose a person takes when they're about to jump off of a roof without planning to reach another or glide safely to the ground.

Mina's eyes widened as her mind pieced together what might be happening right in front of her eyes. Surely she hadn't been that mean!? The older Tora rushed forward, trying to stop Locke from falling to her (un)timely death by grabbing hold of the albino's arm, eyes wide with (concern panic fear) anger that the albino would overreact. "The hell are you doing!?" She hissed out, unaware that she sounded much more concerned than she had intended.

"Enjoying the breeze, why?" asked Locke absentmindedly, turning to face Mina. She was still zoned out, to some degree, but was gaining focus again. "That's the arm you cracked, y'know. Thought I'd tell you that; might make you happy to know you've actually managed to damage me." That night in the garden, Mina had just irritated Locke, but this time she had genuinely hurt the taller Tora's feelings. For that matter, the albino wasn't proud of admitting (even to herself) that she had feelings that could be hurt.

Mina huffed. "It looked to me like you were planning on jumping off the damn roof." She wasn't nearly as satisfied as she thought she should have been at being able to wound the albino. This troubled her. Though what was more disturbing was how unfocused Locke appeared to be. She let go of the other Tora's arm. "I'm sorry, alright?" She said, deciding to get it out of the way now. She was looking down somewhat with her arms crossed over her chest, one of her hands tightening on the arm it was gripping as she swallowed her pride. "I overreacted."

"So now we've both overreacted and broken each other's bones," Locke commented with a wry smile. "I suppose now you just have to shoot me in the shoulders, and we'll be even." Of course, the albino refrained from mentioning that the only that was possible was for her to take off her trenchcoat and shirt. She was trying very hard at this point to make sure Mina would get along with her, and making such jokes might drive her into another rage or something.

Mina gave a similarly bitter grin. "Can't, you're fucking bulletproof. It's irritating." Though at the same time, she supposed it was useful enough to keep her from trying to really hurt the albino. If the bulletproofing wasn't there, she wasn't sure how many bullets she would have used already.

"Sorry about that, by the way," Locke answered, being uncharacteristically submissive for the first time for about twelve years. "I just don't like the thought of dying that way. I'm what you might call... paranoid."

Mina shrugged. "I'm paranoid too, but I'd rather die at a bullet than by something else. It'd be quick if they were aiming to kill." Who 'they' were, the Tora had no idea, nor did she ever want to think of it. "How would you rather kick the bucket, then, so I can stop worrying about you jumping off a roof." She blinked and looked away, scowling. "Not that I care, or anything, it'd just be a waste and Toru'd make me clean up the blood." She could feel her face heating up and scowled deeper.

"In a fight," Locke answered almost instantaneously after Mina had finished speaking. She was too absorbed in the fact that they were getting along again to notice the way the dark-haired Tora was trying to hide the fact that, whether she liked it or not, she cared. "Not in one of those petty little warm-ups, like the one we had, though. I want to go in an epic battle to the death. That's the way a true fight is; all-out, no holding back, but no cheap tricks."

Mina blinked. "Petty little warm-up?" She muttered, kind of amazed and rather intimidated. The elder Tora had been fighting as hard as she could and Locke had only considered that a warm up? How strong WAS her clanmate? And why had Mina only escaped (it was now an escape, she was unable to deny that) with two shot shoulders.

"You know, warm-ups, skirmishes, that kind of thing," Locke tried to explain. "They sort of qualify as fights, but nothing really gets solved except one person proves they can knock the other down. A real fight involves all participants pushing themselves to the limit, giving it all they have until one's will overwhelms the others." The albino's focus was coming back as she savored the thought of being in a brawl like that. It was the kind of thing she knew she'd search for until her dying day (hopefully said event being the cause of her dying day).

Mina quirked a brow. "So it's really just the same thing on a more deadly level. Wonderful." Not to mention it was dragged out and painful, and if you lost there was no way to get better. "What a waste of talent..." She muttered to herself at the thought.

"Waste of talent?" repeated Locke incredulously. "I fail to see how being able to outwill another being in a fight for survival is a waste of talent. We all must prove ourselves to be strong, in one way or another. It's just that my way has a habit of also determining who the most stubborn combatant is."
